Chapter 382 The Witch Merchant
Chapter 382 The Witch Merchant
At the campfire market, almost all the witches activated their card magic and looked at this free card.
“Moran, let’s find a spacious place where we can talk! There are bound to be many witches who have questions about the revenue sharing and will come to ask you,” Lilith said. “After all, no one knows how much profit your cards generate. If we take a 10% cut, everyone will earn more than before.”
Moran nodded in agreement: "Let's go to the grassy area where we landed before; it's spacious there."
"Oh my god! It's a free gift card! The goblin witch is finally giving out freebies! Hmm... I'll try this season's black mud cake first!"
"It's done! It tastes exactly like mine! This is so convenient!"
Moran and Lilith paused, looking back to see Ms. Kira fiddling with cards at a stall near the pink campfire not far away.
With intellectual property rights accounting for only 10% of the profits, Ms. Kira actually bound and produced cards in this way.
“Ms. Kira graduated early, before math classes even existed,” Lilith said. “She probably didn’t even realize what a 10% profit meant.”
"Mom! Mom! I've turned my treasured {cumin-flavored roasted red-eyed bird wings} into trading cards! Buy one, let's see how much I can earn!"
"My goodness! I can earn this much from just one chicken wing!"
"What's that? I could only earn a few ordinary silver coins by making my own little black mud cake. Now I can earn gem coins!"
"The gems earned from selling cards can be stored indefinitely in the management card!"
……
"..." Lilith asked, "Ais's math grades are terrible, aren't they?"
"It's probably enough to get a workbook as a reward! Luckily, math wasn't a big part of the graduation exam this time," Moran said.
It wasn't just Ais and Ms. Kira who quickly accepted the {Management Card}; at the campfire market, witches were already using megaphones to hawk their new cards!
Many witches also came to Moran, but not to ask her about profits; instead, they thanked her or inquired why their card designs had not passed the card magic review.
Ms. Eltis's shrewdness was actually an isolated case.
Although the {Management Card} was more popular than she expected, Moran was not happy at all.
The witch's insensitivity to numbers is alarmingly poor!
She has quietly increased the drop rate of the {Question Card - Basic Mathematics} in the card pool, even at the cost of magic power, to let the witches brush up on their math.
Ais, who had just earned 3 gem coins from selling cards and was about to pull for cards before the limited-time graduation banner ended, looked expectantly at the newly pulled card, then her expression froze:
"{Practice Card - Basic Mathematics} × 2? {Practice Card - Blue Star Business Handbook}?"
Help! How could there be such an absurd gacha result?
Kira glanced at it and immediately burst out laughing without holding back; "Hahaha! Don't you always write that you can't learn math? I heard that these {practice cards} are very helpful for improving learning, they're perfect for you!"
Seeing her mother laughing so wildly, Ais couldn't help but have a wicked idea: "Since Mom likes it so much, then I'll give you one! Anyway, these {test cards} can be reused, so one person won't need two!"
Kira's smile froze when a practice card was shoved into her hand.
When her daughter wrote home complaining about math, she also went to the tribal library out of curiosity and copied a few math books to read.
Then... she tore those pages out because she thought they were taking up too much space, and replaced them with a cookbook.
Some witches are only suited to learning how to cook desserts, not anything else. "Pfft!" Lilith couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Ais turned around and angrily charged at the two of them: "Ah! Moran! Why are there so many {question-solving cards} in the card pool! Did you rig it?"
"Isn't this perfect for you?" Moran said. "If you're planning to open a shop on Dragon's Delicious Island, you really need to brush up on your math. I've heard that dragons are incredibly greedy, and they even have goblin financial advisors. You don't want to run a shop there for hundreds of years and end up owing money to the dragons!"
Ais was startled: "Is that so?"
She clutched the {Question Card - Basic Mathematics} and {Question Card - Blue Star Business Handbook} in her hands.
Moran gave a soft "hmm" and quickly pulled Lilith deeper into the campfire market.
After they left, Kira said in confusion, "The dragons and goblins have cooperated? When did this happen? I haven't heard anything about it. The dragons are always so arrogant, this shouldn't be happening!"
Ais finally realized what was happening: "Mo! Lan! You lied to me again!"
Moran and Lilith have already run far away.
"Moran! Over here!"
Beside an ordinary little campfire, Cheryl and a brown-haired witch waved to them.
"Is that Cheryl's mother? I don't think I've seen her in Witch Town. She must have just returned!" Lilith whispered.
Moran pulled Lilith over: "Cheryl, who is this...?"
"Hello, I am Faye," the witch said.
“My mother is currently a witch merchant. She wants to get to know you,” Cheryl added.
Fayse nodded and pointed to the picnic blanket by the campfire: "These are all things I brought back from the wilderness. See if any of them interest you?"
The items were numerous and disorganized, but they did indeed bear many characteristics of different ethnic groups.
Moran and Lilith curiously crouched down to look through it.
Lilith had just picked up a tooth pendant that felt familiar when she heard Faye introduce it.
"This is the most precious treasure of the vampires. Wearing it will make the vampires wary if you are lucky, and will attract their hatred if you are unlucky."
"So amazing?" Lilith exclaimed in surprise, "Vampire teeth have this kind of effect?"
“Of course!” Faye said, “Only one standard-weight silver coin is needed! I’m not cheating other witches, everything here is genuine!”
Moran glanced at the tooth in Lilith's hand, which showed no magical fluctuations whatsoever. She hadn't originally intended to speak, but seeing that Lilith was genuinely interested in buying it after Ms. Faith's description, she couldn't help but remind her:
"I think anyone would feel apprehensive and angry to see their own people's teeth being worn on someone else's chest, right?"
This is clearly just a tooth from the lowest-ranking vampire, not even a magical material, and it's too expensive to sell for a standard weight of silver coin.
However, considering the cost of stringing the tooth into a pendant and transporting it back from the wilderness, the price wasn't too outrageous.
The witch doesn't cheat the witch, and the item is genuine, but there's definitely a suspicion of exaggerating and exploiting people's curiosity.
Faye looked at Moran and said with some appreciation, "That's right, all these dental ornaments have a similar effect!"
