The Queen of Scrolls never admits defeat

Chapter 307 Everyone is shocked

Chapter 307 Everyone is shocked
"It's almost midnight, please leave the core area!"

The little witches were chatting happily when Ms. Amisa's voice suddenly rang out.

They had originally planned to camp here; Moran had even brought out a tent.

“Yes! Before we set off, the Guardian reminded me that tonight, apart from the small square outside the East Gate, no one is allowed to stay overnight,” Vasita said.

“We are in the core area and no one can stay overnight,” Lilith said.

“This area is located below Crescent Lake, which is indeed considered a core area,” Sylph said, showing everyone the academy map.

Moran could only pack up the tent: "Then let's fly a little further! We just need to go through the hedge wall, it's not far ahead."

“Moran, you lead the way, we’ll follow you!” Amelia said.

The group of little witches set off again.

"We're here! Once we cross this line, we can prepare to set up camp!" Moran said, turning around.

The little witch was stunned again.

"Is this a hedge?"

"It must be the roots of those trees! They've grown so deep, even penetrating such hard rock."

"I'm really curious about what kind of trees those are in the hedge! They not only make way for people, but also keep wild animals away, and their root systems are so extensive!"

"You're overthinking it. These aren't trees at all. I read about them in the 'History of the Witch Academy.' The hedge wall is actually a kind of protective magic circle, an otherworldly array called the Forest Array. These trees are just the appearance of the array!"

……

Like hedges, tree roots make way for the little witches.

They set up camp and rested directly on both sides of the river on the other side of the hedge.

Six hours later, the little witches gradually woke up.

"Senior Lilith, how did you sleep last night?" Moran asked.

Lilith stretched: "I slept better than ever before when I was away from home!"

In the past, every time I went out, either the wind was disturbing or wild animals were bothersome, sometimes both at the same time. But last night was very quiet, and there was no disturbance at all.

She felt she had rested enough to better handle the journey ahead.

“Hehe~” Amelia suddenly laughed out loud.

"What's so good that you're smiling the moment you open your eyes this morning?" Lilith asked her.

Renee poked her head out of the sleeping bag next to her and revealed, "She found a magic mine last night!"

Moran hadn't explored the caves in this area yet, but after hearing her story about her mining experiences, quite a few little witches went to dig for treasure in the mines last night before bed out of curiosity.

They mostly only found some ordinary ore before going back to sleep.

Only Amelia was lucky enough to find a magical mine.

"What kind is it? Take it out and let me see!" Lilith asked curiously.

Amelia took out what she was holding and said with a smile, "I can use this to make a small-scale charging warning magic circle."

"What a huge piece of green crystal!" Lilith estimated it to be about the size of a bowl. She suddenly regretted not going to prospect for minerals last night and went straight to sleep.

If there were a warning magic circle, I would feel much safer when camping in the outer areas.

Unfortunately, there's no time to continue mining in the inner area now.

Vasita and Sylph silently decided that they must come back to the underground river to mine in advance and prepare some magical items that they could use next year.

Cheryl and the others weren't very talented in alchemy, so they asked Moran and the other two witches if they could help them craft magical items once they found the materials.

Moran and the others had no reason to refuse, as each time they crafted a magical item, it improved their alchemical skills. After eating some bread and fruit cakes, they set off again.

This flight took much longer; after an unknown amount of time, Lilith, with her excellent eyesight, suddenly spotted a cave in the distance shimmering with the light of various colored gems, and exclaimed in delight:

"My goodness! There are so many gems there, it must be a huge gem mine, and there might even be magic gems hidden in the rock strata!"

After saying that, he excitedly sped up and flew over.

The other little witches were not to be outdone.

Moran quickly shouted to stop her, "Hey! Don't dig! I specially set that inlay!"

Outside the cave, Lilith, who had already prepared her mining skills, was left bewildered: "???"

"Moran, what did you say? Specially inlaid?" Vasita stopped sweeping and asked, puzzled.

“Yes. There used to be a gem mine in this cave. I even found a magic gem, but I’ve already dug it all out. I’ve even taken the ordinary gems. What you see now are all the gems in this area,” Moran said. “I’ve set them here as markers to prevent you from missing the exit.”

"A logo? You use so many gemstones for a logo? That's too extravagant!" Vasida's gaze towards her was strange.

She was dressed in animal skin clothing, and the only decoration she wore was a necklace of animal teeth!

The other little witches nodded in agreement: "That's really too extravagant!"

Some of them planted precious persimmons, but all they got were some ordinary, small gemstones to make jewelry or decorate their clothes.

Even ordinary gemstones are not common for them.

"No, shouldn't the focus be on getting to the exit?" Moran said helplessly.

They had been asking her how far it was, but once they arrived, all they could see were the jewels.

"If you like, I have plenty more in my warehouse, feel free to take them."

Anyway, she kept all the magic ore in the treasure box in her study. The basement warehouse only contained ordinary ores, which were not very useful anyway and were just taking up space, so she might as well give them away.

"Really?" The little witches' eyes, which had been fixed on the jeweled band around the cave entrance, finally shifted away.

“Of course it’s true.” Moran stepped into the cave entrance first: “Follow me!”

She led the little witches through the winding caves.

"The arrows along this road are all made of crystal!"

"It seems Moran really dug up a lot of good stuff; he even used such high-quality crystals as markers."

……

"We're here!" Moran stopped in front of a stone wall.

"To what? Isn't there no road ahead?" Vasita asked curiously.

“Watch me.” Moran stepped forward and tapped four times on a protrusion in the stone wall, three short taps and one long tap.

"Something seems to be moving inside the stone wall!"

"It sounds like metal."

"OMG! It's open!"

The little witches watched in astonishment as the stone wall in front of them lifted up, revealing a doorway.

There was no energy glow on Moran's wand; she hadn't cast a spell, and the stone wall had lifted itself up.

"What's going on? Why is it moving by itself?"

"What kind of alchemical magic circle is it?"

Moran shook his head: "This isn't magic, it's a mechanism door."
