Chapter 277 Warm Cave
You have to be careful when digging inside the hole.

Moran and Vasida's digging efficiency was greatly reduced.

After digging for more than an hour, they finally dug out a spacious cave. After setting up a small fire, there was enough room for the three of them to lie down and sleep.

They no longer had to squat; they could stand up straight and walk around in the cave.

Sylph's green vines climbed all over the cave walls, their dense leaves covering the uneven earthen walls.

She also hung several lantern tomatoes on the cave ceiling, and the warm yellow light made the whole cave feel gentle.

On the ground, except where the small fire was, soft grass grew everywhere.

When the grass leaves sway up, they form a soft, fluffy carpet.

Sylph was still not satisfied and brought out a gold-striped leopard skin to spread out.

As Moran was carving the temperature-regulating rune on the stone, he noticed that Sylph was constantly adjusting the angle of the leopard skin.

But her leopard skin wasn't complete enough; it certainly wasn't large enough for three people to sleep on together.

He then pulled out the gold-striped leopard skin he had made earlier from his bag and gave it to her: "I have one here too!"

Sylph spread it on the straw mat as well: "Perfect! This will keep out the moisture from the soil, and everyone can sleep comfortably!"

Vasida was cutting mutton next to a small fire.

The cave was too small to build a large bonfire, so the whole roasted lamb was inevitably cut into small pieces and grilled in batches on an iron plate.

Hearing the voice, she turned around and exclaimed in amazement, "Wow! Sylph, your arrangement is so beautiful, I don't want to leave!"

Moran agreed: "It has transformed from a simple little cave into a warm and natural underground dwelling."

Sylph blushed slightly at the compliment: "I'm glad you like it."

“It’s getting colder and colder, Sylph, come and warm yourself by the fire!” Vasita said.

She and Moran sat by the fire, while Sylph was busy setting up the cave.

"It's not cold! The firethorn leaves are still working!" Sylph subconsciously rubbed her hands together and sat down by the fire. After feeling the warmth of the flames, she realized that the firethorn leaves she had previously applied were no longer able to withstand the drop in temperature at night.

Especially after starting a fire, in order to maintain ventilation, Moran would use wind magic every now and then to blow the air inside the cave out and bring in the outside air, so that the temperature inside the cave was not much higher than outside.

However, Moran had been preparing stones to set up a temporary constant-temperature magic circle.

As the sizzling aroma of oil rose from the iron plate, Moran had just finished engraving the corresponding runes onto several small stones he had dug out while digging the hole.

I got up and placed them in a corner of the cave, then activated them with magic, and the temperature-regulating magic circle took effect.

The cave suddenly became warm.

Even if cold air comes in, the temperature will quickly return to a comfortable level.

Covered in firethorn leaves, they were already getting warm sitting in front of the fire. So they took off the firethorn leaves that were sticking to their bodies and stuck them to the leopard skin so they wouldn't get cold when they slept at night.

This time, they finished their dinner smoothly.

After extinguishing the fire, we lay down together on the soft, fluffy grass and rolled around, looking at the warm yellow lantern tomatoes on the cave ceiling.

Thunder rumbled frequently outside, and rain and mist shrouded the area. Hiding in this small earthen cave, they felt a sense of peace and tranquility.

"This is so comfortable! It's even more comfortable than living in the dormitory!" Vasita exclaimed.

"Today's experience was unforgettable." Sylph was almost reluctant to close her eyes.

Moran floated the book of witches above his head and turned to the section on "The Prophecy Witch's Magic Book":

"Go to sleep! We have to travel tomorrow!" Vasita and Sylph were initially quite excited, but after seeing the dense text on the pages, they suddenly became sleepy.

“Remember to call me in two hours!” Vasita said, clinging to Moran’s arm.

"Ok!"

Soon, only the sound of Moran turning the pages of his book remained in the cave.

She still had a lot of magic left over, so she cast a silencing spell on both Sylph and Vasita to prevent the thunder outside from disturbing them.

Two hours later, Moran released Vasita's silencing spell, and Vasita woke up: "Moran, you go to sleep, I'll watch over her!"

"Okay!" He closed the book and went to sleep.

Vasita rubbed her eyes, sat up, and with nothing to do late at night, and unable to concentrate on reading, she took out a {projector card} to watch instructional videos. Wearing one earphone, she could also hear the surrounding sounds with the other.

By the time she had watched most of a video, it was about time for Sylph to take the night watch.

The next morning, when Moran woke up, she felt only chest tightness and shortness of breath.

Vasida clung to her like an octopus.

Moran sighed helplessly and carefully moved Vasita's thighs and arms off her.

Sylph whispered, "I moved her several times during the night, but she always managed to find a 'pillow'..."

Vasita, half-asleep, felt her arms suddenly empty and woke up with a start: "Chicken leg! My chicken leg!"

Moran was finally speechless: "I was wondering why there was a little pig in my dream that kept chasing and biting my arm! Was it you?"

Vasita, looking at herself clinging tightly to Moran, feigned ignorance and said, "I don't know!"

"Hahaha!" Sylph could no longer hold back and burst into laughter.

Being able to keep watch in the middle of the night was her good fortune.

Otherwise, she would be the one getting the chicken leg!
Moran scratched Vasita's itch to free himself: "I didn't hear thunder anymore, did the thunder stop and it get light?"

Sylph nodded: "The sky has returned to its normal color."

“Let’s pack up and get ready to go!” Moran said.

They put away the leopard-skin blanket, removed the barbed wire from the vents, and withdrew the magic, causing the earthen wall that had held up all night to collapse with a roar.

“Let’s leave this burrow here!” Sylph said. “We might need it when we come back!”

“Yes, yes, yes!” Vasita said, “If it weren’t for the fact that the nights here are too scary and it’s not suitable for farming, I would like to live here next year. There are plenty of prey around, and I feel safe living in the cave.”

She was truly reluctant to leave this cave.

“If we don’t get out of the grassy area by today, we’ll have to dig another hole before nightfall,” Moran said.

"Really?" Vasita suddenly felt a sense of anticipation.

Moran chuckled and said, "You've really taken to digging holes to sleep in?"

“This isn’t just about digging a hole to sleep in! This is a warm shelter that the three of us built together!” Vasita said, dissatisfied.

Sylph nodded emphatically: "Although it's simple, it's very cozy!"

Moran finally understood; it was probably similar to how human children on Earth play house, setting up a secret base together with their friends.

But no matter how reluctant I am, I still have to leave.
