The whole weird world is waiting for me to go to heaven
Chapter 962 2 Golden Crows
Chapter 962 Two Golden Crows (Part 9)
After hesitating for a long time, Old Mu's hand finally slowly fell down.
"You're scared?"
"Yes, I'm scared."
"Young lady, do you really think you can solve my problem without bringing more disaster to my family?"
“The key is,” Liu Sheng said, his tone unchanged, “I need to see what exactly is wrong with your family right now.”
Old Mu originally thought she would just open the door and leave, but to his surprise, she opened the elevator button panel and actually pried out a video intercom.
It's the kind that's usually installed next to the door at home. It allows you to talk to someone and see outside. Judging from this blurry picture, it even seems to have night vision!
Old Mu was stunned by the sudden appearance of this device.
Recalling the series of events that had just occurred to her, she finally realized what was happening and exclaimed in a low voice, "You...you can create dreams!"
Liu Sheng smiled: "Is it that strange?"
“Of course it’s strange…” Old Mu took a deep breath, his expression complicated. “If Zhuo Caiyun hadn’t been able to create dreams, we wouldn’t have made her the Alliance Chairman in the first place… But I’ve seen her create dreams before, and she wasn’t as fluent as you…”
Liu Sheng did not answer, but instead turned her gaze back to the gray screen that was starting up.
The image distorted for a moment, then revealed a blurry, grayish scene. From the outline, it was clear that it was a dark, empty kitchen.
It was very quiet, with only the piercing electrical noise coming from the loudspeaker.
She pressed a few more times, and the screen switched one after another, showing real-time footage of each room: the living room, bedroom, hallway, and so on.
"Wait a minute!" Old Mu suddenly realized, "I don't have any security cameras in my house, how did you do that?"
Liu Sheng remained calm, staring at the screen as he casually explained:
"If I had to explain the principle... it's like I installed my 'little eyes' in every room of your house, and then transmitted those signals to the display terminal I created."
Old Mu felt a chill run down his spine.
Although the girl spoke of it casually, it sounded like an ability that ordinary people couldn't possess, and he couldn't even imagine how she could do it.
He remained silent for a while, then began to stare at the screen, trying to discern something unusual from these "overly calm" images.
"Those unusual things you mentioned, you heard them from your wife," Liu Sheng said thoughtfully, stroking his chin.
Old Mu's face flushed red, then turned pale.
"Actually, it was... the 'me' who was working at the site who received a call from my wife. It was she who told me on the phone."
"She said... every day she felt like things in the house had been moved, but she couldn't explain how they were moved, she just felt a strange sense of dislocation."
"Then there's my son. Every day he wakes up lying on the kitchen floor. He can't explain what he did the night before, and he has burn marks on his body, though they're very minor, but still quite strange..."
"She was terrified and wanted me to go home and take our son to see a psychologist... but that 'me' refused, citing being too busy with work. How awful!"
Old Mu became increasingly angry as he spoke.
Liu Sheng asked, "You don't usually refuse your wife because of this?"
"I……"
Old Mu fell silent.
Liu Sheng was still staring at the screen.
Suddenly, she gasped softly, her brows furrowing slightly.
This expression was quite evident on her calm face.
Old Mu's heart tightened, and he immediately moved closer.
Although the scene was dark and gray, it was his own home after all, and it was immediately clear that "this is my son's bedroom."
Liu Sheng replied, "But there's no one in bed."
Upon hearing this, Old Mu's heart sank heavily. Sure enough, upon closer inspection, the bed was empty; the person who should have been lying on it was nowhere to be found.
As Liu Sheng switched to the next scene, his heart was once again in his throat.
That was his wife's bedroom.
The faint light filtering in from the window revealed a short figure standing quietly by the bed, seemingly leaning over and gazing at the woman on the bed.
"What exactly is this little brat trying to do!" Old Mu clenched his fist tightly.
He couldn't contain himself any longer and wanted to open the door and go inside.
But Liu Sheng raised his hand to block it.
"You can't go."
"Wait, that kid's gone!"
But the moment I looked away, the figure had vanished into thin air.
Liu Sheng tapped his finger, and the screen changed.
The space had opened up considerably; it was now the living room. Only, there was another figure on the sofa.
He propped his feet up on the coffee table, holding the remote control in his hand, as if he were leisurely watching TV.
"That brat, staying up all night to secretly watch TV, isn't he enough watching it during the day...?"
Old Mu cursed under his breath, but his voice faltered.
The camera angle shifted slightly, revealing that the television was not turned on at all.
As soon as Lao Mu said that, whether it was a misperception or not, the figure sitting on the sofa seemed to sense something and slowly raised his head.
It seemed to be making eye contact with the two people who were monitoring everything.
Old Mu suddenly felt a chill run down his spine: "He...found out?"
Liu Sheng nodded: "It should be."
The next second, the figure got up and walked step by step toward the location of "small eyes", climbing up little by little by stepping on something.
The last face suddenly came close.
Old Mu's heart was pounding like a drum when he finally saw the face clearly.
Although the face still belonged to his son, a child who was only about six years old, the entire face was as pale as paper and covered with mottled death.
His eyes were as black as ink, without pupils or irises, yet they seemed to harbor some unfathomable malice.
"What...what happened to him?" Old Mu's voice trembled, and an ominous premonition rose in his heart.
“His body has been possessed by some kind of entity,” Liu Sheng said softly.
"What should we do!"
Old Mu wanted to put his hand on the doorknob again.
At that very moment, the face pressed against the camera suddenly grinned into an extremely eerie smile, its lips squeezed to the extreme, revealing uneven teeth with several gaps and teeth that were still in the process of losing their baby teeth.
He doesn't seem like a real human being at all, much less like his son.
The mouth opened and closed slowly, as if it were saying something.
"What is he saying?"
Old Mu is going crazy.
"No, I have to save my son! Get this thing off my son, get it out of my house!"
He didn't know why the girl was so calm, but he really couldn't hold back any longer and gripped the doorknob with trembling hands.
But just as it was being turned, the little girl next to me finally spoke up:
He said... he's finally found you.
These words were like an ice pick, piercing into Old Mu's very marrow.
A chill ran through him, and he froze on the spot.
His hand stopped moving.
He just gripped the doorknob tightly, but dared not move again.
The young girl looked at Old Mu expressionlessly, "This thing is probably waiting for you. Are you still going out?"
In response, Old Mu released his grip.
"But what should we do?"
He held his head in his hands, clutching his thinning hair, and once again fell into a state of anxiety.
No one can remain calm in this situation.
When I looked up again, the face that had been pressed against the camera lens had quietly retreated.
Immediately, the entire screen began to flicker, with images swaying like ripples on water, emitting a piercing signal sound with unstable high and low frequencies.
The images then disappeared one by one, leaving only the steady sound of electricity.
Only one remains.
That is, a picture of the kitchen.
Only then can you see that in the empty kitchen, a fire has been lit up, as if something is being stewed.
"But why would someone be cooking something in the middle of the night?" Old Mu muttered.
"That means it wasn't cooked by a human," Liu Sheng replied briefly.
In the scene, a short figure stands beside the stove, having appeared in the kitchen at some point.
Old Mu's voice tightened:
"When did this thing get in? It's incredibly fast!"
“Perhaps, it has always been there,” Liu Sheng said in a deep voice.
