Where the wind chimes sound, there is a god

Chapter 47: Fog in the Courtyard

Chapter 47: Fog in the Courtyard

Chen Beimo took Chengze to the ancestral hall to worship and burn incense, and then went to the Ministry of Revenue of the government to change his place of origin and get rid of his indenture. From then on, Wang Chengze became a real commoner.

Wang Chengze followed him walking on the street, looking at the hustle and bustle of the city. For the first time, he raised his head and straightened his back, no longer hunching his back. The bright sunlight shone into his eyes.

Chen Beimo took him to a dessert shop and said, "Do you want to eat anything? If you need anything in the future, just buy it."

"Ah, young master, I don't need it." Wang Chengze waved his hand to refuse.

"Remember, call me Master from now on." Chen Beimo said with a smile, "From now on, the government will give you five taels of silver per month. You don't have to be as frugal as before."

“Five… five taels?” Wang Chengze held up five fingers and asked in shock, “So many?”

"When you turn fifteen, it will be ten taels per month. When you turn eighteen, it will be twenty taels per month.

When you reach the age of twenty, you can no longer receive it." Chen Beimo said slowly: "You were careful in the past, but you don't need to pay attention to these details in the future. What you need now is to be generous and upright.

When you reach adulthood, I will pass Tingyu Pavilion to you and pass it on well.

Then I'll find you a pretty young lady, how about that?"

"Ah, I..." Wang Chengze blushed when he heard the young lady, and stammered, "I...I will listen to Master."

Seeing how shy he was, Chen Beimo couldn't help but laugh. He walked to the side of the street and bought him a string of candied haws.

Then he took a skewer himself, and the sweet taste of the hawthorn syrup made him frown.

Seeing this, Wang Chengze also started eating. Two people, one tall and one short, were walking on the street, both holding a string of candied haws, eating as they went, and their backs gradually went away.

……

At the headquarters of the Thunderbolt Hall, in a secluded spot on the mountain, Li Yunhuai was performing sword moves under the moonlight. Every strike of his sword was so sharp that one could faintly hear the sound of his internal energy in the wind.

"No, it's still too bad. None of your moves are complete."

Sitting on a big tree nearby, an old Taoist priest was drinking wine and commenting on him, "The Qingfeng Mingyue sword technique is about being precise and seamless. Every strike of the sword is as fast as the wind, delicate and smooth. You are still a little behind."

"Old Taoist, I have only learned Kung Fu for a few days, how can I be so fast?" Li Yunhuai put away his sword, wiped the sweat off his forehead with his hand, and said dissatisfiedly: "You are a first-class master, and I have just entered the second-class ranks. How can I compare with you!"

"That's right. I was too impatient." Taoist Qinghua thought for a moment and continued, "You must remember not to let this sword technique be lost. This is the ultimate sword technique that I have learned in my life. Looking around the martial arts world, the only sword techniques that can surpass this are those of immortals and a few supreme martial arts skills."

Li Yunhuai sat on a stone bench and said rudely, "It seems that he is not invincible."

"You bastard!" The Taoist priest Qinghua was furious when he heard this: "There are countless martial arts geniuses in the world, how can there be anyone who is invincible? Don't listen to the nonsense in the picture books."

"Okay, okay, got it." Li Yunhuai curled his lips and said, "You have been in the Thunderbolt Hall for several days. Haven't those people caught you yet?"

"Humph, I am a top-notch expert." Taoist Qinghua said unhappily, "How can these little minions find me?

As long as you practice as I say, with your current second-rate internal strength and this sword move, you will be able to escape from ordinary first-rate masters."

"So, it is not impossible for me to dominate the world now?" Li Yunhuai said excitedly when he heard it.

"How can it be so simple?" Taoist Qinghua sighed. "There are countless strange people in the world, and there is no absolute grade in terms of martial arts. It seems that a first-class master is already a top figure in the world, but it is possible that a street magician can kill a first-class master when he is caught off guard.

There are also those mysterious legends about immortals. Warriors like us are nothing but ants in their eyes."

"That's right." Li Yunhuai thought about it and calmed down, saying, "Then I'll practice for another three to five years. With my current internal energy practice speed and the combination of various medicinal materials, I have a good chance of reaching the second-rate upper grade."

Hearing this, Taoist Qinghua still couldn't believe it and asked, "Is the effect of the medicine really so miraculous?"

"Of course, why would I lie to you?" Li Yunhuai said with a smile, "Didn't you tell me that I had some hidden injuries in my body, but now they are all healed. Even my bones have improved by a third, and my Qi circulation speed is much faster than before."

"Are you really not having any problems?" Taoist Qinghua asked cautiously.

"Of course not." Li Yunhuai waved his hand and replied.

"That's good." Taoist Qinghua nodded and said with a smile: "I will set off back to Yunzhou tomorrow."

"So soon? Why don't you stay a few more days?" Li Yunhuai asked in surprise, "I, a half-baked apprentice, haven't yet learned all your skills."

"Well, as long as it can be passed on, it will not make Qinghua, a martial arts figure, disappear from the world." Qinghua sighed, "Your junior brother has a destiny with immortals, and the path he takes is completely different from that of us martial artists.

You should be more careful in everything you do in the future. The people in the underworld are treacherous and no one can be trusted. The only truth in the world is that you can only trust yourself."

Li Yunhuai nodded, stopped smiling, stood up and bowed respectfully.

……

On September 25th, autumn rain began to fall in Yunzhou.

The remaining heat of late summer was swept away by this autumn rain. Instead of the clear and crisp autumn weather of previous years, there was only continuous rain and overcast weather.

The flowers and plants in Yushui Garden gradually withered, and the maids and servants had to sweep the roads every day to clear the paths in the garden.

When he woke up early, Dabao, who was guarding the door, opened his eyes drowsily and heard someone knocking on the copper ring on the door. He could only rub his sleepy eyes and open the door.

Seeing that it was a man in official uniform, he was startled and said with a smile: "Sir, you are..."

"I'm here to deliver a handwritten letter on behalf of the prefect to Young Master Chen." The official took out a wax-sealed letter from his lapel and handed it to him.

"Please leave it to Master Chen."

Dabao took the letter and nodded, saying, "Don't worry, sir. I will definitely pass it on to the young master."

The officer politely said thank you for your help and then turned and left.

Dabao took the letter and thought to himself that the official could be so polite to me. Sure enough, the seventh-rank official in front of the prime minister was not fake. He was just taking advantage of the power of others!

However, it feels so good not to have to be treated coldly or bullied by others!
Dabao closed the door and walked towards the courtyard. On the way, he saw two maids, Dingxiang and Dinggui, hiding in a remote corner of the path, whispering and laughing. So he coughed heavily, and the two maids hurriedly picked up the brooms in their hands to sweep the fallen leaves, then peeked at the person who came. Seeing that it was him, they couldn't help but said angrily: "Dabao, why are you walking so quietly? You're scaring people in broad daylight!"

Da Bao chuckled, "I let you two be lazy here, and you dare to rush at me. Do you think I will tell Butler Wu?"

"Hey, Dabao! Don't do that!" Dingxiang hurriedly tried to persuade him and said that he wouldn't dare to do it anymore.

Ding Gui also spoke in a soft voice, and hurriedly said that she would not dare to do it again next time, and sewed clothes for him.

Da Bao then left with great satisfaction. He walked through the orchid corridor that had already turned yellow, passed the pavilion by a pool of clear water beside the orchid garden, and came to the Yunshui Courtyard.

The gate of the courtyard was closed tightly. He gently pulled the bell in front of the courtyard. The tinkling sound spread in the courtyard. After shaking it three times, Dabao carefully pushed open the gate and walked in.

This is the rule set by the young master himself. No matter who wants to enter the main courtyard, they must first ring the golden bell hanging in front of the door three times. After three rings, if there is no sound in the courtyard, they can come in.

If there is any sound, then of course we have to listen to what the young master says.

Although everyone in the family was surprised by this rule, no one dared to say anything. Moreover, the door to the main courtyard was not locked and could be opened with just a push.

But when the bell rang three times before entering the courtyard, no one dared not to ring it.

When Dabao entered the courtyard, he saw a young master in an indigo-colored brocade gown standing on the Tai Chi eye where the water was flowing, standing in a small square with gurgling water. He had an indescribable fairy-like aura.

He walked forward carefully, held the letter in both hands, and said, "Master, this is a letter that the prefect sent early in the morning, saying that you should open it in person."

After hearing this, Chen Beimo picked up the letter, unwrapped the wax with his slender fingers, and opened the rice paper letter. After reading for a while, he frowned, put the letter behind his back, and said, "Go tell Lao Wu that from now on, no one is allowed to get close to the wall in the old courtyard on the east side, let alone eavesdropping.

Anyone who violates this rule will be severely punished.”

Dabao's heart trembled when he heard this, and he hurriedly said, "Yes, Master!"

Then he walked out of the main courtyard, closing the door gently before leaving. When the last gap in the door was closed, Da Bao raised his head and dared to look. In the empty main courtyard, there was a three-story attic. The young master was standing on the Tai Chi formed by the canal with his eyes closed. He was tall and outstanding, with a clear blue hair crown holding up his long hair that was neatly flowing. The skylight in the courtyard seemed a little hazy, giving him the illusion that it was not in the human world.

After closing the door, Dabao couldn't help but think to himself: "The young master really looks like an immortal."

After the courtyard gate was closed, the letter in Chen Beimo's hand turned into a grass-colored color, fell into the canals below and disappeared.

Prefect Fu told him that the nine altars were altars set up by a certain immortal sect to collect some kind of spiritual energy, and told him not to worry about it as the Six Gods Department had already checked it out.

He didn't know how the Six Gods checked it, but Chen Beimo knew that such a bloody altar was most likely not a proper Taoist one.

It seems that as long as one has the status of a Taoist orthodox, even an evil cultivator is considered a cultivator in the eyes of the Six Gods.

The status of Taoist orthodoxy should not be underestimated.

I learned from that boss that the full name of his school of thought should be Tongxuan Shangluo Tianhe Yuling School of Thought. It was originally considered a prominent school of thought, but more than 30 years ago, the Tianshan School in the north closed its doors and the Yuling School of Thought became rare.

According to him, if the Tianshan Sect had not been closed, when Chen Beimo had mastered this Taoist tradition, someone from Tianshan would have come down from the mountain and taken him back.

But now, I can only move forward step by step on my own.

Chen Beimo thought that maybe it had something to do with the changes in his master's family more than 30 years ago. Because the Wang family was the Yuling Taoist sect and was still in the north, it must have been related to the Tianshan Sect.

The Yuling Daoist traditions of the world all originated from Tianshan, just as the Qianling Daoist traditions of the world all originated from the Six Gods. The cause and effect of this was not something he could resolve now.

Since the beginning of autumn, the weather has turned cooler, and the speed of practicing the Kanshui Sutra has become faster and faster.

After practicing the immortal arts for more than half a year, Chen Beimo has learned some tricks. On rainy and foggy days, one can practice even during the day, and the effect of one day of practice is equivalent to the effect of two or three days.

According to Huangfu Yanchen, the spiritual realm can be divided into nine levels, and the difficulty gradually increases from the ninth level to the first level. Each level is a threshold.

It may only take a dozen years to improve from the ninth rank to the third rank, but it may not take hundreds of years to improve from the third rank to the first rank.

The first six levels all focus on the accumulation of Fa Qi, and once accumulated, a breakthrough can naturally be achieved. However, the first two levels require skills, aptitude, understanding, and even opportunities to be considered in order to achieve success.

The second level requires the fusion with the spiritual object. Not only does it require the spiritual object to be alive, but also requires various coincidences such as one's own tendons, luck, and opportunities to be cultivated.

The first level requires a spiritual object to be internalized in the Dantian and become a minor magical power.

The second realm is to become a god, which means to transform small supernatural powers into great ones, and become a Taoist who can come and go freely between heaven and earth!

The six directors of the Six Gods Department are all such real people.

The superiors of the six departments are mostly first- and second-rank figures in the spiritual realm.

Although Chen Beimo's cultivation method is different from the mainstream practice today, the realm division is still basically the same. After all, it is a tradition passed down from ancient times.

Each level is judged by the Dantian Qi that flows through the nine major acupoints in the body.

Each of these grades has corresponding acupoints, from grade nine to grade one, they correspond to lower dantian, middle dantian, upper dantian, coccyx gate, jiaji gate, yuzhen gate, yin acupoint, yang acupoint, and middle acupoint.

The Dao realm corresponding to each acupoint is different. Only by allowing the Dharma Qi to penetrate the nine major acupoints and opening the three gates and nine acupoints, can one obtain great supernatural powers and roam between heaven and earth.

But now Chen Beimo has already penetrated the Dharma Qi into the upper, middle and lower dantians. According to the current method, it should be the seventh level.

But the Kanshui Sutra only says, "If the three elixirs are not complete, one cannot enter the realm of the divine."

This is the disadvantage of not having a teacher. You need to figure out every step carefully and consult ancient books. The things you are looking for may be answered in detail by just asking someone else's teacher.

But now Chen Beimo will not pass on the Taoist tradition to anyone. The Taoist tradition, which concerns one's life and property, must be kept secret.

Chen Beimo stood in the Tai Chi Bagua water channel, using his Qi to sense the heaven and earth, and moving with the induction between his own acupoints, practicing slowly. Gradually, white mist rose from the ground in the courtyard and slowly floated in the air, condensing without dispersing, moving without being chaotic.

In the mist, Chen Beimo guided his mind, and the mist surged continuously. In the white mist, a dragon-like shape was slowly forming. On the ground, there were misted fish and shrimps crawling, pythons circling the water, dragons flying in the sky, and dragons making trouble in the water.
