Chapter 263 Battle Situation
Before the battle began, many people, including Viserys, thought that the Battle of the Wall would be a series of city battles in which the main force defended the city.

However, when he saw the seven beams of light, Viserys reacted immediately.

There are nineteen castles in the 100-league wall. It seems that the White Walkers are attacking all the way and everywhere. There are seven important routes among the multiple White Walker armies. The troops defending the city must defend the city, but they cannot stay in the city. They must eliminate the White Walker caster who can summon seven frost dragons and has the blessing of the cold god within three leagues.

The front battlefield of the Great Wall is not a tower defense battle, but an offense and defense battle.

The actual focus of defense is actually the place where the ice dragon appears and the White Walker casters who must be attacked and eliminated.

The purpose of the Ice Dragons of the God of Cold is clear. They don't care about the soldiers guarding the city at all. Their only goal is to interfere with the magic barrier of the Great Wall with the breath of the God of Cold's magic. Then they will use their bodies made of black ice to break through the Great Wall, tear open cracks, collapse a section of the Great Wall, and let the extremely cold magic blocked by the Great Wall blow to the south of the Great Wall.

After Viserys attacked, he found that with his current strength, these ice dragons made of black ice magic were vulnerable. But being vulnerable was only for Viserys alone. No matter how powerful his personal power was in the material world, a hundred leagues of the Great Wall could not protect him.

Moreover, Viserys had already realized that he must not be led by the seven ice dragons within a hundred leagues. What he needed to do was to fly to the location where the beam of light appeared, just like the ice dragon on the opposite side, find and directly behead the opponent's caster.

When Viserys flew from Castle Black to the Shadow Tower, he smashed the three ice dragons at Castle Black and the Wall fifty leagues west at unimaginable speed. Then Viserys ran directly to the northern foot of the Shadow Tower, and after the ice dragons were smashed, they shot beams of light into the sky again.

It must be said that Viserys had thought of many plans for defending the Wall, but when the actual war broke out, he found that there were things he had not taken into account.

But there was no way, after all, this was the first round of attacks by the White Walkers in eight thousand years, and Viserys also needed to learn and gain experience from the unfamiliar tactics of fighting against the White Walkers.

To the north of Shadow Tower are mountains.

Viserys soon discovered that the ice dragons and the White Walkers charging toward the Wall below were working together, not acting independently. Viserys suspected that the cold god had made specific targeted improvements to the ice dragon's tactics after coming into contact with him.

The destroyed ice dragon will explode into magical ice mist, and the blizzard brought by the march of the White Walker army also has magic, which not only blocks the line of sight, but also interferes with Viserys's magical perception of the ground from high altitude. Although the beam penetrates from the blizzard, its location can be said to be directly marked, so it can be targeted.

But as soon as Viserys arrived at the point outside the Shadow Tower and saw that the beam of light was between the mountains of the Shadow Tower, obscured by a fierce blizzard and icy fog, Viserys knew that the other party had already considered beheading the dragon defending the city, or Viserys himself, who had experience in fighting the enemy.

As a monster from another world, Viserys can now be regarded as the most powerful being in the material world. Even the God of Cold gives Viserys enough respect in tactics.

The result had been guessed, but Viserys still needed to verify his guess in practice.

As he came to the beam of light in the Shadow Tower, regardless of the ice dragon formed by the dark clouds in the sky, Viserys's magic surged and flapped his wings. In an instant, golden thunder and violent storms appeared in the sky. A level 10 storm immediately rolled up within a league around Viserys.

For a moment, where the beam of light was, the wind and clouds changed color, the heaven and earth were shaken, and the strong wind swept away the fog, and even the thick black clouds in the sky became colorless and chaotic in the strong wind.

Strong winds blew up rocks and broken wood, and golden thunderstorms fell like rain on the ground where the beams of light rose.

When the strong wind blew by Viserys, the mortal form of the Storm Lord, swept away the blizzard and dispersed the magical ice fog, he saw that the beam of light fell in the mountains outside the Shadow Tower, which meant that the White Walker spellcaster was hiding somewhere in the belly of the mountain.

This is undoubtedly a tactical arrangement specifically designed to target dragon attacks and those with personal power.

Viserys looked towards the eastern sky. There were five beams of light piercing the sky. He had to deal with this one here, take time to deal with the targeted magic shielding of the God of Cold, and also shrink his body to go deep into the mountain to find the caster.

Five paths?

Viserys hesitated for a moment, but then collected himself.

Of course, he could also choose to cover the mountain with firepower and directly destroy the mountain with brute force.

But relying on this guy alone, delaying Viserys' time and consuming Viserys's magic power is a sure win. Moreover, firepower bombing often does not necessarily achieve the expected results. Viserys inexplicably had a sense of déjà vu, feeling that he was now a US bomber, and the White Walkers were the Japanese devils on Iwo Jima.

In fact, there is another way to find the White Walker caster hiding in the mountain. Enter a brief conceptualization and transform yourself into thousands of winds, thunder and lightning. In this way, you can locate the caster in just a moment.

But Viserys was not sure whether this was a trap. Using this kind of power to hit an ice dragon magic caster was like using a big move to hit a small soldier.

Viserys quickly realized that this war was different from the previous ones. The enemy had targeted him, and he could not continue to use his usual style of cutting the back row.

But now that he was here, how could Viserys leave without dealing with the caster of this beam of light?

The strong wind belonging to Viserys continued to blow, blowing away all the blizzard, ice fog, and dark clouds covering the mountain where the beam of light was. The chaotic storm magic blew everywhere, and Viserys soon found a cave in the belly of the mountain with a strong icy atmosphere.

Viserys turned into a stream of light and shot forward.

There were many White Walkers and Wights on guard, and it was the first time that Viserys saw a White Walker, but these White Walkers on guard had very little magic power, and Viserys was hardly able to match his opponents as he moved along. Countless White Walkers and Wights guarding inside and outside the cave were transformed into violent and swift streams of light by Viserys and blew into dust.

Finally, deep in the cave, in a large cave surrounded by cold spider silk, with huge black ice standing all around the cave as a collapse prevention reinforcement measure, and guarded by several strange ice spiders, Viserys saw a tall, withered ghost with skin as pale as milk, who was in a huge piece of black ice, cutting his body open and letting the ice-blue blood flow into a certain object.

Viserys had no time to waste with it.

His body turned into a stream of light and instantly burst out with blazing flames. Those huge blocks of black ice used for defense and reinforcement were cut through by Viserys's flames in an instant like tofu.

The White Walker had no time to react. His cold eyes, like blue stars, only blinked, and his body was cut by the heat flow, and the flow of magic inside became chaotic and abnormal. Then, the power given by God lost control and collided violently with Viserys' magic, exploding.

A violent cold current exploded from the ghost's body, and the temperature in the air dropped by more than ten degrees in an instant. The black ice that was originally used by the ghost for defense suddenly became extremely cold, and grew terrible ice spikes and icicles. The several ice spiders in charge of guarding were instantly frozen into blocks by the burst of cold air.

The beam of light then stopped.

Seeing that the main ghost was definitely dead, Viserys no longer held back and released his energy instantly. A raging flame and thunder, accompanied by a strong wind, erupted from the cave, and in an instant the explosive energy flooded the entire cave.

The black ice in the cave melted, but the part of the ghost that exploded still had some power, which turned into chaotic magic mixed with Viserys's magic. Viserys took a closer look and found that the magic that eroded and blended with each other and finally reached a special stable state was quite similar to the chaotic magic Viserys had felt in Valyria.

By the time Viserys came out of the cave, several ice dragons in the east had already formed and took off again to continue attacking the Great Wall.

Viserys took off again, charging eastward.

Viserys realized that this was not the right way to fight. He was about to return to Castle Black and order his First Regiment to attack the light beam three leagues outside the city. After a brief battle, Viserys had figured out how to deal with the cold god's attack.

It was like using a cannon to kill a mosquito if Viserys searched for the caster by himself. He was delayed in vain, wasted his combat power, and was led by the nose by the White Walker commander. What he really needed was the elite Pan-believers on his side to pinpoint the location of the ice dragon caster for him, and then directly launch a targeted attack with one firepower.

During this period, what he really had to do was to compete with the God of Cold in magic power consumption, that is, to destroy the ice dragon. When Viserys killed the caster just now, he had confirmed that its current power came from the infusion of the God of Cold, and the caster was just an energy repeater.

That was why the ice dragon formed so much faster than the one Viserys had seen in Braavos.

What Viserys should do is to prevent the ice dragon from attacking the Great Wall and bring the battlefield under his control.

But when he flew to Greyguard Castle near the Shadow Tower, Viserys relied on the magical connection between himself and the pan-believers to discover that the defenders in the direction of Castle Black, led by Viserys's First Regiment, were gathering in the barbican, preparing to attack.

Viserys gave Randyll Tarly full command of the First Regiment. It seemed that the once-famous old commander had keenly realized that the outcome of this battle did not lie in defending the city walls, but in destroying the caster of the White Walker's ice dragon magic.

Viserys could feel through the connection with the believers that members of his First Regiment were gathering in a steady stream from the south side of Castle Black through the north side outside the city gate.

However, it is still slow for a battle group of more than 10,000 people to go out from the Black Castle gate, which is only wide enough for three riders to pass through at a time. Not to mention that when the city was designed, only defense was considered, and no attack was considered. They gathered in the city and had to go through the narrower gate of the city.

Randyll Tarly had already put on his Valyrian Storm Armor, with a woolen cloak with the Tarly family emblem on it, and was shouting at Commander Mormont, Jon Snow, Mance and others who had gathered in the Barn for an emergency: "No, it's too slow to get out of the city like this. We must destroy part of the Barn's wall so that my troops can quickly assemble on the flat ground before the vanguard of the White Walker army arrives! We must attack the location of that blue beam, otherwise even if we stay at the Wall, we will just have to watch those damn ice dragons attack wantonly and disintegrate the wall!"

Jon's face wrinkled in his thick leather hood, and he responded loudly, "Even if we agree to tear down the city wall, the wall is built in several layers, including the three-layer wall of the city gate, the sheep and horse wall, and the ditch. The inside is made of logs from outside the city as the base, poured with ice water, mixed with sand and frozen soil that we dug with great difficulty, and is very solid. You can't just order the wall to be torn down!"

When it was first being built, everyone was thinking about how to create a hard enough turtle shell. Who thought about getting out of the turtle shell when fighting?

Randall Tarly stood inside the city wall and pointed directly at the edge of the junction between the city wall and the Great Wall. "The edge of the city wall is the weakest wall of this turtle shell city wall. We need to destroy it and make two holes so that the troops can quickly leave the city and form a battle array."

Jon looked helplessly at Commander Mormont.

Commander Mormont also had an expression of "what are you talking about". Even the weakest layer of the wall of the city wall was a twenty-foot-high ice wall made of hammered logs and cast ice!
"Just agree that I can destroy the walls on both sides," Lord Randall, wrapped in a woolen hood, looked stern and steady. He turned to his adjutant and said, "Gather two elite teams of a thousand men at the junction of the city wall and the Great Wall. Form a battle formation and use wildfire pots and thunderstorm armor to blast open the walls. Even if the captain uses up all his strength and even dies, you must blast open two passages for me!"

"Yes!" Upon receiving the order, the adjutant immediately rushed to the assembly point and summoned two elite troops from the southern border who were originally intended to serve as vanguards. One of them had the mark of the Tully family's Striding Hunter on their outer coats.

This is also the side that Chapter Commander Lando Tarly sets an example for the chapter he leads.

In launching a counterattack against the White Walkers, Lord Randyll let his family's troops lead the way, just to make the entire army obey his seemingly crazy order that seemed like they were sending the army out of the city to their deaths.

So, under the confused witness of Commander Mormont of the Night's Watch, Jon and a group of mixed Night's Watch and wildling garrison troops.

Two thousand-man teams assembled. Lord Randyll walked to one side, leading the way. On the other side was Sir Colin Florent of the Florent family. He was the fourth brother of Lord Alister of Brightwater City and a Thunderstorm Armorer of the Florent family. Lord Alister had high hopes for him, hoping that he could represent the family and win glory in the war.

The two thousand-man teams quickly gathered at the edge of the sparsely populated city wall. Seeing that these soldiers were 100% armored and their commanders were wearing the famous Valyrian steel armor, they cooperated very methodically and had a tacit understanding. In a short time, the teams gathered into a huge array shaped like a dragon head.

The two dragon eyes of the array were huge Targaryen shark skin flags with three dragon heads, one gold-plated and one silver-plated, cast on two steel poles. The commander in Valyrian steel armor stood at the dragon's mouth, raised his sword high, and roared loudly: "For Targaryen!"

The soldiers of the Thousand responded: "For Targaryen!"

As the roar was heard, a strong wind immediately blew up from the formation of a thousand people in the city, and the air became numb and numb in an instant.

The next moment, the commander continued to shout: "In the name of King Viserys - Thunderstorm! Koris-rirda!"

The commander's loud roar and the non-standard pronunciation of the last sentence in Old Valyrian made him sound like a wizard chanting some kind of spell.

And the soldiers responded immediately: "Thunderstorm! Koris-rirda!"

The soldiers defending here, whether it was Viserys's regiment, the Night's Watch or the wildlings, all wore undyed woolen clothes, three thin layers inside, chain mail and steel armor, and three thick layers outside to keep out the cold and keep warm.

As the Valyrian spell that could hardly be called standard was recited, everyone could feel their woolen coats crackling and tingling, and their bodies felt as if they were electrocuted, with hair standing on end and goose bumps forming on their skin.

However, in the battle formation, the copper "dog tags" hanging on the chests of the soldiers in the formation emitted faint golden electric light.

As these lightning flashes rose and gathered, a golden thunderstorm gathered and formed above the commander's Valyrian armor and sword.

This scene is too horrifying.

Seeing the commander as if possessed by a god at this moment, summoning golden thunder and storms, everyone who saw it was shocked and stunned.

But judging from the commander's expression, his body was obviously under terrible pressure from this force, so much so that his body was trembling slightly.

At this time, the second-in-command took over the command: "Throwers, listen to my command! 'Targaryen Cocktail'! Throw!"

As the order was issued, objects like wine bottles were thrown out from the dragon's mouth and smashed onto the city wall. A faint fluorescent green liquid flowed out as the bottles broke.

"Drink!"

The commander of the thousand-man team let out an inspiring shout and roar, and the Valyrian sword fell fiercely, and the golden thunder at the head of the battle formation immediately fell on the city wall.

There was a bang.

Spider-web-like cracks appeared on the ice wall.

Immediately following the thunder was a terrifying explosion of green flames.

Wildfire!

It turns out that the so-called 'Targaryen Cocktail' is a bottle of wildfire that can be carried by a single soldier and thrown.

The blazing wildfire instantly enveloped that section of the city wall. Strong winds blew fiercely at the wall, and green flames penetrated into the cracks. The ice-built city wall was already melting with tears visible to the naked eye.

"koris-rirda!"

Another spell was chanted, and another bolt of lightning gathered and took shape, falling on the cracked wall like a punishment from heaven.

The log core inside soon came out.

As the second round of cocktails were thrown at the walls on both sides, the third golden thunder was summoned down and a storm arose.

Two loud bangs came from both sides. Although it was called "thin", it was still five or six feet thick, and the wall of the city wall, which could accommodate a person, exploded and collapsed.

Even Commander Mormont, who had been told during the meeting that their southern army possessed magic, was dumbfounded. He was confused and surprised: "Is this still the normal world I know? An army like this?"

Woo——woo——woo——

The increasingly urgent sound of the horn awakened the shocked people in the city.

"Arm your troops, clear the way!" Randyll Tarly's voice was so loud that it even drowned out the sound of the horn for a moment. He shouted, "The warbands must assemble quickly and line up on the flat ground outside the city! Line up! Quickly!"

No time for shock.

As the battle group gradually became stuck in the city wall, they immediately split into three groups and quickly left the city through the narrow main gate of the city wall and the broken passages on both sides.

"The White Walkers take me away!" Beside Jon, Tormund the Giantsbane recovered from his frightened state. "Your southerner's King Viserys, damn it, I would rather die on the battlefield fighting the White Walkers than go against him."

Mance was shocked: "I roughly know how he managed to rule almost all of Westeros in just over a year."

Commander Mormont couldn't help but look at Jorah, who was guarding him. He had never heard of such an army from Jorah. But Jorah looked equally shocked, with an inexplicably complicated expression.

On the wall of the Great Wall, Aegon, who was looking down at the panoramic view, was stunned and murmured to Jon Connington: "My uncle, Jon, I told you, he is the god who came to the world!"

Also watching everything from the other side of the wall was Arya Stark. She and her northern allied forces were originally the second echelon, planning to follow Viserys's first regiment out of the city to meet them, but now, Arya's mind was filled with shock and relief. Fortunately, when she made the choice in the river, she finally chose to board the Targaryen ship.

Also on the Wall were Maester Aemon and Sam, who was responsible for telling him what he had seen.

When Master Aemon heard Sam's description, his face showed both pride and worry. He held Sam's hand tightly and said, "Sam, take me down to see the soldiers who cast magic."

Sam pursed his lips and looked down at his father, Randyll Tarly, who was already leading his horse out of the city accompanied by soldiers carrying the banner of the Striding Huntsman. Seeing that the soldiers of the Tarly family had already headed outside the city, he took a deep breath with a complicated mind, "Okay, Master Aemon."

However, although the strength of Viserys's First Regiment was terrifying, when Jon Snow went to support the thousand-man team that had just blasted open the city wall, he keenly discovered that the condition of the thousand-man team he was supporting was not right.

As soon as they relaxed, they fell into a kind of phase of decline from the frenzy.

It was visible to the naked eye that their bodies were steaming, their faces were abnormally flushed, their eyes were bloodshot, their breathing was rapid, and their bodies seemed to be exhausted. Although they were in a state of excitement, Jon had no doubt that they could continue to fight with this excitement, but
Jon couldn't help but ask the commander he was meeting, "This isn't the normal way you use this power, right?" He quickly shut up, thinking he had said something wrong, "Sorry, I didn't mean to pry into your secrets."

Seeing that casting such magic consumes such a huge amount of physical strength of the military participants, it means that this power is unsustainable after it is exerted, and real battlefield battles often require sufficient endurance.

"You are very observant, Night Watchman." The commander did not respond coldly, but said, "But these are not your concern. You just need to know that with the power bestowed by His Majesty, we will never lose to any army on the battlefield!"

The horn sounds grew louder.

The White Walkers' slow and oppressive march from three leagues away had already brought them within range of the long-range attacks of the catapults, the upper walls of the Great Wall, and the walls of the barbican.

All that was heard was a huge drum beating.

Jon looked up; he knew the drums represented the trebuchets.

Dozens of sharp whistling sounds were soon heard in the sharp wind in the sky, and burning kerosene barrels and asphalt barrels flew out from overhead, dragging long tails in the dark night and smashing towards the north of the Great Wall like a meteorite rain.

Jon immediately stood up: "You rest here. They are almost here, it's our turn."

After saying this, he hurriedly walked out of the greenhouse with a fire in the city wall, entered the huge streets of the city wall filled with cold winds, and trotted all the way to the city wall.

"Good news." As soon as they arrived at the city wall, the official Eddie handed Jon a telescope. "Although there is fog on both sides, we can still see that there is a beam of light missing from the left sky and a beam of light missing from the right sky. His Majesty the King and that 'hero' are both very capable. Take a good look before the blizzard comes, Jon. When we fight the army of white walkers, we can still die with the thought of victory.

To be honest, the most horrible way to die on this battlefield is to be sprayed to death by an ice dragon, because this way the body is well preserved, and the White Walker commander will call you up to fight for them. Fighting for them is too miserable, you can't even sleep or eat. God knows what's been put into the minds of those wights, and they fight so desperately despite such cruel treatment. "

Jon couldn't laugh as Eddie told cruel jokes with a melancholy expression. He took the telescope and took a quick look at the east and west walls of the Castle Black before the blizzard enveloped it.

Castle Black is located in the center of the Great Wall. Thanks to King Viserys' quick reaction to magic attacks, the ice dragon in front was smashed to pieces by golden lightning as soon as it appeared. This prevented Castle Black from being quickly shrouded by ice fog and blizzards, and the situation in other places could be vaguely seen through the sky.

The main thing is that you can see strange magic beams, and see a beam of light go out on each side of the east and west. This is a good thing that is worth exciting for everyone.

But the situation is still not optimistic. The ice dragon is about to escape from the black cloud, and as the army of the white walkers approaches, the strange blizzard is also approaching their heads little by little.

At this moment, no one can question the fact that the White Walkers possess magic. As long as you look north from the top of the city, you can easily see the foggy area formed by the blizzard, approaching the Great Wall at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Jon watched as the flaming barrels of oil and tar fell into the blizzard fog. Each time they exploded in the fog that obscured his vision, he could see groups of black shadows still marching step by step in the fog.

Dark clouds over the city.

On the edge of the city wall, the King's First Regiment was still gathering.

An army of more than 10,000 people continued to pour out of the gate of the Black Castle like a black river. After arriving at the city wall, they immediately split into three small streams and gathered outside the city.

They were already gathering very quickly, but seeing that the White Walkers were getting closer and closer, the regiment might not be able to finish gathering before they came into direct contact with the White Walkers. And because of consideration for friendly forces, only the giant crossbows and catapults on the Great Wall could provide help, and the archers were out of reach.

The situation in Wengcheng is similar.

However, the Night's Watch was hanging ropes and ladders on the walls of the city.

As the defender of the Great Wall, Commander Mormont obviously couldn't just watch the friendly forces coming to assist fight outside the city while he and his brothers in the Night's Watch stood by and watched. Although they thought of clearing the way and allowing the more powerful warbands to ride through the city gate to assemble, the Night's Watch was definitely not willing to watch from the city wall.

There were about 300 Night's Watchmen in the garrison, most of whom were archers, initially for city defense. Now, under the command of Commander Mormont, they were using the ropes that the wildlings had originally planned to use to climb the Wall to make a quick descent from the garrison to the assembly point of Lord Randyll's warband, providing flank cover for their assembly.

Three hundred people are just a drop in the bucket for a war group numbering thousands or tens of thousands, but Commander Mormont cannot just sit there and do nothing.

Seeing this situation, Mance and Tormund's wildling archers also had the idea of "disobeying military orders".

Because the orders of the Night's Watch were to hold the city walls, and when they saw that the Warband and the Night's Watch were going to engage in a field battle, how could they be willing to fall behind?

So Tormund the Giantsbane personally led a team of archers and was preparing to descend from the top of the city using a ladder to cover the other flank - even though the wildlings could only muster a death squad of 300 people.

The ladder on the wall was quickly put up, and Commander Mormont was the first to go. His pre-battle speech was just a simple one: "It's a good thing that you are willing to go out with me! Be alert and don't lose face!"

Jon was about to step forward.

Suddenly someone grabbed my body.

Looking back, it was Ser Jorah, the eldest son of Commander Mormont.

Ser Jorah glared at him. "You cannot go."

Jon was puzzled: "What?"

Jorah felt sullen: "His majesty said you have your mission, but you have not yet accepted it. In short, you cannot leave your command post. When something unexpected happens on the Wall, Jon, you must do what you should do."

mission?

Jon's left hand could not help but touch the horn that he always kept in his arms. It was a small horn made of ox horn with bronze edges. Jon and Sam had checked it before, and no matter how they cleaned the dust from it, it still made no sound. At that time, they suspected that the horn was broken inside.

But after reading the "records" King Viserys brought from the Citadel, Jon and Sam studied and discovered that the horn needed magical power and needed to be infused with life.

"Magic items choose their own owner, because that's the person who has the talent to use it."

Jon confirmed something from Jorah's face. He had not dared to ask Maester Aemon and King Viserys if they thought Jon was the man who had the talent to blow the horn.

Now, Jon had confirmation: the Targaryen king had been watching him.

And the mission. Is it his destiny to blow the horn with his life and repair the Great Wall?

Viserys didn't actually say anything, but after all the arrangements, Jon thought he had noticed something.

The only truth in this world that is most unshakable is the truth that you make up in your own mind.

At this moment, Jon saw a touch of red hair in a trance among the wildlings who were about to climb the ladder down from the city.

His eyes were unconsciously drawn to him. In the cold wind, Jon saw that the other party was also looking at him. The other party smiled at him, made a face, and then turned and joined the wildling archer team.

Jon felt a complicated feeling in his heart.

Suddenly there was a loud thunder in the sky. Everyone looked up and saw a golden lightning pillar in the sky, hitting the ice dragon that was about to take off in the black clouds three miles away.

It was not until people saw King Viserys's huge three-headed dragon appear in sight that they heard the terrifying and shocking sonic booms coming from the west.

His Majesty the King and the dragon rushed back to the Black Castle from the Shadow Tower at a speed faster than sound.

A huge voice was heard from the sky: "Aegon, Arya, my warband is enough here in Castle Black. You take your mercenaries and the Northern Army to gather the guards on the south wall along the way, and set off immediately from the south wall to the east to support the beacon tower."

The king did not say what happened in the east, but this order already indicated that some kind of accident had occurred in the east. Beacon Tower is one of the 19 castles on the Great Wall, right next to Eastwatch, the third castle in the east. Further east, there are only Greenguard Castle and Eastwatch.

The beacon tower's defenses consisted of Braavos mercenaries, part of the Night's Watch, and a portion of wildlings and northern troops.

The beacon tower is more than thirty leagues away from the Black Castle, but troops have to be mobilized from the Black Castle for support. Although the Black Castle has the most supplies and is convenient enough, and is the castle with the most troops, it is enough to show that the situation of the beacon tower is not optimistic.

Suddenly, Jon felt that he was being stared at by something terrible, and his scalp went numb for an instant.

From a distance, Jon felt that it was the king's gaze, falling on him from the sky.

Jon was in a trance, and the king's rumbling voice rang in his mind: "Jon Snow, or Jaehaerys, whether you are ready or not, gather your men and set off immediately, and follow Arya's Northern Army to the east to provide support. The wall of the beacon tower has collapsed, you must repair it no matter what!"

The deafening sound soon disappeared, and countless fireballs suddenly erupted in the sky above, smashing into the blizzard area where the White Walkers were marching like meteors. A question came from the sky: "Randal Tarly, is my First Regiment ready?"

"Roar! Roar!" Outside the city, thousands of voices roared. Jon saw the rear of the troops pouring out of the city gate.

Randyll Tarly responded with a mighty roar: "For the Targaryens!"

Ten thousand soldiers gathered at three assembly points outside the city wall, and the rear team was speeding up to join the army and shouted: "For Targaryen!"

"war!"

"war!"

"war!"

Following three earth-shaking roars, this powerful battle group set out to meet the White Walker army.

Jon was shocked by the terrifying military might of the legion before him, and at the same time surprised by the king's voice that he suddenly heard in his mind.

He looked to his side; Ser Jorah, who was holding him, did not seem to have heard the king speaking to him alone.

Jon saw that although Jorah was shocked, he still held his hand tightly, with his eyes still on him.

Jon was a little hesitant and solemn. Finally, he said to Jorah with a bitter face: "Ser Jorah, I heard the king's voice. He asked me to go to the beacon tower."

"Then," Jorah's face darkened, and he loosened his grip on Jon's hand. Then Jon heard the knight ask decisively, "What are you waiting for, Jon Snow?"
