Chapter 884: Monkey Taking Ears

Chapter 884: Monkey Taking Ears
On the 800-li Huangfeng Ridge, there was a monk wearing thin and old clothes, with no head but able to speak, playing strings and singing in the air. The moment Chu Tai saw him, his whole body trembled.

Then wisps of black gas spread out from his body, and in a trance, a golden lotus bloomed beside him. However, before the lotus took shape, the black gas contaminated it and turned it into yellow sand that scattered all over the ground.

"It's all my fault! Namo Amitabha!"

The headless monk put his hands together and looked into the depths of the yellow sand. At this moment, a monkey wearing tight clothes, with prayer beads on his hands and a long stick in his hand happened to be walking towards him from a distance.

After sensing this, the headless monk looked back to the west and whispered, "Is this what you, the Buddha, think?"

After saying this, the headless monk shook his head and said, "No, the Buddha should have fallen into silence. It is not him who controls Lingshan now. So the person who controls Lingshan now is the right one? Is he the one who restores order?"

The monk knew that his idea was extremely rebellious in the past, but he couldn't help thinking so.

He remembered the origin of Yellow Wind Ridge and why Great Sage Yellow Wind had come to this point today.

Back then, in the Liusha Kingdom near the West Sea, due to changes in heaven and earth, the vital energy was turbulent when the sun set over the West Sea. The real fire of the sun boiled the sea water and shook the coast, making it difficult for children in the city to survive.

Initially, the people could still get a break by having thousands of people beat drums together to disrupt the noise, but sunset comes every day, and not everyone can beat drums, and each time of beating drums consumes a lot of energy.

In order to continue the life, people all over the country prayed devoutly, and the Buddha was moved and gave down Buddhist drums, so that the people of Liusha Kingdom could survive by beating the Buddhist drums to neutralize the sound of the boiling sea water.

As a result, the whole country began to believe in Buddhism and use gold to sculpt Buddha statues, and gradually the country gained the reputation of being the Golden Buddhist Kingdom.

But Buddhism was the reason for the country's success and failure. As everyone believed in Buddhism, Buddhist power began to squeeze the royal power. King Liusha was naturally dissatisfied, but he was powerless to reverse the situation. He finally ordered the removal of temples, the destruction of Buddha statues, and the expulsion of practitioners. He also changed the country's name from Liusha to Shali, trying to cut off the influence of Buddhism.

Thinking of this, the headless monk sighed.

He remembered that when he received the Dharma order and went to Shali, he did not come to the world in the form of a compassionate Bodhisattva, but in the form of a Dharma protector Vajra, in order to protect Buddhism.

Therefore, at that time, he used his own Dharma image as the foundation, and his original form of Kalavinka (the bird of wonderful sound) as the core, and attracted the half-body Jivaka (the bird of shared life).

Jivaka is a two-headed bird, symbolizing sharing and harmony, and also representing one good and one evil.

The monks at that time used the latter as a foundation to derive a giant monster insect called the 蜂. When the Buddhist drum sounded, it would go to the country of Shali to destroy houses and shake the Buddhist drum to prevent the people from using it.

The original intention of this move was to alert the king of Shali and make him realize his mistakes or give up the Buddhist drum.

At that time, the headless monk did not think he had done much wrong, but everything changed after the arrival of the Great Sage Yellow Wind.

'Thinking carefully, I was probably still feeling proud of myself for creating the prairie and alerting the king, but when the Yellow Wind arrived and killed the prairie and received offerings from the Shali Kingdom, I became angry and forgot the true meaning of compassion. At that time, I was no longer a Dharma protector, but a demon who gradually fell into the path of evil.'

'If I had cast a spell to take back the Buddha drum, or revealed my Dharma image to tell Huang Feng the reason, reminding him that demons and monsters cannot coexist, then the following events would not have happened. This is the first sin.'

Thinking of this, the headless monk couldn't help but look at the many rat people in the Yellow Wind Ridge. They were the people of the former Shali Kingdom. 'Because of my own anger, I didn't remind them in time, and let the Yellow Wind invite the rat demon to settle in the country. After the rat demon lived with humans, I didn't give them any help. Instead, I let the demon energy and human energy interweave, laying the foundation for the subsequent people to turn into rats. My second sin.'

The headless monk looked towards the depths of Huangfeng Ridge again. Through layers of yellow sand, he saw the Great Sage Huangfeng in the middle and felt the strong demonic aura from him.

'The third crime is that after Sihali's state affairs were resolved, he still harbored anger. He knew that Huang Feng was not without a destiny, but after subduing Huang Feng, he did not guide him wholeheartedly and responsibly. He was unworthy of being a teacher, and he deserved to have his head cut off.'

"Now, there is a chance to make amends..."

The headless monk looked at the monkey who walked towards him and told him about the many changes that had happened here. He first guided the monkey to save many dead souls, and then taught him the method of calming the wind, so that he could subdue the Yellow Wind Great Sage and retrieve the ear of the Fighting Buddha.

Although the Great Sage Huang Feng has been practicing hard here for hundreds of years, using the monk's head as his foundation, collecting the power of the Fighting Buddha's ears, and mixing the spiritual energy with the turbid air, he has improved his own Taoism a lot.

But facing the method of restraint, he still had no ability to resist. In addition, as the monkey fought with him, his ears kept moving, and the turbid air of spiritual charm repeatedly impacted him, making his internal breath unstable, and he was finally defeated.

The Yellow Wind Great Sage fell to the ground, knowing that he had no chance of survival, and laughed loudly, "Dingfeng Fa, Lingji, since you are here, why do you have to hide behind the scenes and let this little monkey fool me?"

With a sigh, the headless monk walked out from the darkness, took back his head, and manifested the majestic image of a bodhisattva.

Seeing this, the Great Saint Huang Feng sneered, "I didn't expect that after hundreds of years of erosion by the turbid air, your appearance is still majestic, Lingji, but has your compassion ever entered your heart? Are you worthy enough to arrest me when you are also obsessed with greed, anger, and ignorance?"

"You and I are entangled in karma, but if there is anyone who is most suitable to come here to end it, it is me."

After saying this, Lingji Bodhisattva looked at the monkey and said, "Most of the sins here are closely related to me. It is not an exaggeration to say that they are all caused by me. Now I know that I cannot escape the blame even if I die, but I still want to make up for it. This thing is of no use to me, so I will give it to you."

As he spoke, Lingji Bodhisattva took out a flying dragon Zen staff, shook it lightly, and many precious lights flew out from it and merged into the long staff in the monkey's hand.

Afterwards, the Bodhisattva walked up to the Great Sage Huangfeng, and amid the Great Sage Huangfeng’s ridicule, raised his hand to kill him, gently stroked the back of his body, and recited scriptures in a low voice.

Chu Tai, who was far away in the heaven, felt a sense of it, or rather, the Three Worlds Buddha Dao Fruit System he left in Lingshan felt a sense of the power of Lingji Bodhisattva.

As circles of Buddha's light rose from the body of Lingji Bodhisattva and spread out in all directions, the evil spirits of many rat people in the mountains dissipated, and they gradually regained their human hearts, human nature, and even human forms.

Many yellow winds rose up and gathered from all directions, bringing with them boundless turbid air and merging into the body of the Great Sage Yellow Wind, turning him into a demon, which bit Lingji Bodhisattva on the neck.

Golden blood flowed out and fell on the ground, giving birth to golden lotuses, gathering water vapor from all directions to nourish the earth.

There was another karmic fire burning, which burned all the bodies of Lingji Bodhisattva and Huangfeng Great Sage, leaving behind a wind-calming pearl that sealed the two-headed bird and fell into the hands of the monkey.
