Chapter 530: Jin Hai’s Enlightenment to Zen

Chapter 530: Jin Hai’s Enlightenment to Zen

"Oh, no, this is not right..."

"Stay, as long as you leave it here, all problems can be solved..."

Desire was constantly surging in Zen Master Zhiyu's eyes, but there was also a trace of clarity struggling.

But he was struggling, and seemed extremely vulnerable in the face of his ever-expanding desires.

The scriptures in the bowl once again emitted a faint golden light, the glow was soft, and the faint Sanskrit sound once again wanted to protect Master Zhiyu in his efforts to overcome his desires.

But at the moment when the golden light rose, the copper coin in the statue suddenly trembled, and worldly desires flowed out of it, suppressing the Buddha's light and corrupting the scriptures. It was like a devil wearing a cassock. Although the Buddha's light was spread everywhere, like the golden sun, reflecting the sacred face of Zen Master Zhiyu, the golden light that gradually became thick and heavy like mercury was like a virus, distorting the essence of Zen Master Zhiyu bit by bit.

He also believed that Master Zhiyu, who was being supported by his predecessors, was silently reciting scriptures with his hands folded together, but he did not realize that the scriptures he was chanting were changing from their original purity, peace and tranquility to greed, anger and degeneration.

Moreover, during these days, many desires to kowtow before the statue of the God of Wealth have also emerged.

Merchants of all sizes, with more or less greed, bowed before the statue and prayed for a lot of money.

People from poor families, with more or less extravagant hopes, bowed down to the statues and prayed for family harmony and success.

Those who inherited the tradition of farming and studying would pray to the gods for many sons and blessings, and for them to become talented officials.

Bizarre scenes came one after another, and the various aspects of life contained in them were assimilated by the golden sea, and then turned into waves, filling the mind of Zen Master Zhiyu, making him unable to tell whether he was just watching everything or he was awakening to his past.

Chu Tai, who saw all this firsthand, was secretly amazed and felt the power of this copper coin.

The desires in this golden sea seem to be influenced by the desires of all living beings to worship, but in fact, those things are also transactions.

All these transactions were conducted in Faguang Temple. Zen Master Zhiyu was the protector and ruler of this place. He was closely related to everything here. Therefore, although Zen Master Zhiyu was not present in every transaction, he was slightly affected.

To put it more clearly, Zen Master Zhiyu benefited from every transaction, and he also made a transaction with copper coins without even knowing it.

And now, the copper coin is using the traces left by these transactions to project those desires into the heart of Zen Master Zhiyu.

The most interesting thing is that the black stone bowl itself fell into the hands of the Li family during a transaction in Faguang Temple and was then sent to Zen Master Zhiyu.

Everything is related to that copper coin. Although the amounts are not large, when added together, they have already occupied about one tenth of Zen Master Zhiyu's luck, destiny, magic power and foundation.

From this point of view, it is not a big problem to say that those scenes were the predecessors of Zen Master Zhiyu.

'If he could sort out these mixed and chaotic memories, and differentiate and reorganize the desires and emotions in them, this monk would be like experiencing thousands of reincarnations without knowing it, and accumulate countless mental powers for nothing. But if he cannot sort out these chaotic thoughts and desires, then these things will be like a huge millstone, constantly wearing away, crushing, and shattering his original will and memory, making him completely sink into desire.'

Chu Tai looked at Master Zhiyu struggling in the golden sea and concluded: "The most amazing thing is that this is also a transaction..."

As he spoke, Chu Tai followed the "fate" and looked towards another room, where sat an old monk whose luck, destiny, magic power, and foundation had all been replaced. He was silently chanting the scriptures of the Immortal of Wealth and praying silently that Master Zhiyu would die soon so that he could inherit the position of abbot.

'Since the first transaction, this guy has been stuck in this mess and can't get out. I wonder what his expression will be when he finds out that everything he has is someone else's. Maybe he doesn't care who owns the Hokkoji Temple? As long as it's not Master Zhiyu's?'

Chu Tai was somewhat curious about the monk's thoughts. After observing silently for a while, he looked at the changes in Zen Master Zhiyu. At this time, his luck, destiny, magic power and foundation were eroded by about one tenth. The disappearance of 20% made it difficult for him to tell the truth from the false.

Chu Tai saw through the changes and saw more of the means used by copper coins.

'It seems that the owner of the power of the copper coin dirt regards the other party's progress under the influence of his power as experience. According to his logic, the person affected can make progress because he provides a higher platform, a better training environment, and more training. Therefore, the progress of the person affected also has his part of the credit, and the power should be shared with him.'

'The interesting thing is that when the power of the affected person is further disturbed and affected, resulting in mistakes, all punishments are borne by the affected person himself. The copper coins that were previously divided into benefits are not responsible for anything. Instead, Master Zhiyu, as the affected person, needs to pay a part of his cultivation as compensation.'

'The most interesting thing is that in this process, the copper coin and the dirt on it are not only the influencers, but also the recipients of compensation, and the managers of rewards and punishments. It is really unexpected that such a wonderful idea can be transformed into a part of the Tao Fruit...'

As Chu Tai was sighing, the problems faced by Zen Master Zhiyu were becoming more and more serious. His power was further encroached upon, and he could only recite scriptures to maintain his sanity.

'Although we should be able to find more information if we observe it for a while longer, this Zen master probably can't hold on any longer.'

Chu Tai's mind moved, and a point of Buddha's light flew out, following the rhythm of Master Zhiyu's chanting, and merged into his forehead.

In an instant, a faint ray of wisdom light emerged from between Zen Master Zhiyu's eyebrows and merged with the Buddha's light, transforming into a golden flame. Then, red lotuses of karmic fire bloomed in it. The bright red petals were covered with a strange karmic fire that was red with black, spreading outward along with the desires around them.

The Buddha's light was rotating above the black stone bowl, trying to stop the burning of karmic fire, but as soon as the two came into contact, the golden light instantly melted away, and the Buddha's light dimmed. The wish power surrounding the surface of the statue of the God of Wealth enshrined in the Faguang Temple also turned into a flaming wheel, which terrified countless people around, but also felt an inexplicable blessing, and they all bowed down.

New wishes and distracting thoughts fell into it, following the connection and trying to influence Zen Master Zhiyu again.

But this time, the Zen master put his hands together and chanted scriptures silently. He seemed to feel a huge ancient bell in the dark. Under the bell sat a very illusory Buddha. The Buddha's light was also illusory, but it contained infinite compassion and Zen, spanning the past, present and future.

Zen Master Zhiyu put his hands together and said loudly: "Namo Amitabha!"

As the Buddhist chants rang out, thousands of Buddha lights intertwined around, peaceful and solemn, bringing waves of clear and high-pitched Sanskrit sounds, which gradually dissipated the power of the dirt on the copper coin. At the same time, amid the heavy Sanskrit sounds, a very faint bell sounded, and then in the statue of the God of Wealth, the dirt on the surface of the copper coin shook, and then wisps of karma fire surrounded it and began to burn.

The dirt that felt threatened naturally wanted to resist, and wisps of strange aura spread outward. All those who benefited from it felt a twisting force falling on them.

"How is this going?"

Monks Yin De and Ling Guang, who had been involved in many transactions, felt something was wrong when the statue of the God of Wealth changed, and secretly hid together to discuss. At this moment, they felt as if a red-hot iron was inserted into and stirred their brains, causing not only unbearable pain but also a burning pain.

In that room, the monk who wished for Zen Master Zhiyu's death was burning with anger.

It was just that the flame burning on his body was strange. It only burned him and did not leave any traces of burning other things.

In addition, due to the previous apparition of the statue, everyone either went to watch or had severe headaches, so no matter how the monk struggled, no one went to watch.

The painful monk could only pray to the Fairy of Wealth again, but his wish power was immediately affected by the copper coin, and the dirt loss completely swallowed it, extending his existence for another two or three moments.

"Open the jade lock and escape from the cage, leave the golden sea and realize the true emptiness. It is really a great dream of emptiness. Thank you for your rescue, senior."

Zen Master Zhiyu clasped his hands together and bowed again and again in the direction of Chu Tai.

"You are able to see through greed and walk out of the sea of desire. This is your own ability. If you are willing to sink, even if I have great magical powers that reach the sky and penetrate the earth, I will not be able to pull you out. Moreover, the owner of the Buddha's light is not me."

Chu Tai walked out slowly, looked at Zen Master Zhiyu and briefly introduced himself. He said that the Buddha light was prepared by someone in advance, so if he wanted to express his gratitude, he should thank that person and there was no need to say thank you to him.

When Zen Master Zhiyu first saw Chu Tai's cultivation level, he was surprised and curious about how Chu Tai could solve his problems.

After hearing the explanation, Zen Master Zhiyu clasped his hands together and said with emotion: "Although the senior wanted to treat me, it was actually me who saved me. Naturally, I have to thank you, but..."

Halfway through his words, the Zen master looked in the direction of his junior brother. He could vaguely feel the previous changes. Knowing that his junior brother had turned into ashes, he sighed.

"Greed, anger, and ignorance continue to grow, and the desires in his heart never go away. My junior fellow apprentice thought he had found a shortcut, but he didn't know that it could be a trap. How sad and lamentable..."

Chu Tai heard this and shook his head, saying, "Although your junior brother has mixed feelings in his heart, this result is not just his problem. The dark hand hidden behind the statue is the core of the problem."

As he spoke, Chu Tai asked casually.

"Master, may I ask if you know the origin of the statue of the God of Wealth? Why did it bring such troublesome consequences? Not only did it confuse people's minds, but it also stole the fate of all living beings."

Zen Master Zhiyu was silent for a while, and said, "I don't know much about this matter either. I only know that it was an order from the court, which seemed to be to use this Qingli Caixian to further expand wealth, business, transactions, and other ways of Taoism, and further expand the relevant Taoist principles and laws."

At this point, Zen Master Zhiyu added: "I have also heard that the Qingli Wealth Immortal wants to use this opportunity to break through to the third level. Whether it is true or not, I don't know."

"Breakthrough to the third level?"

Chu Tai was really shocked this time. He looked at Master Zhiyu in disbelief and said, "I remember that this Wealth Immortal has been certified as a fourth-grade immortal for less than a hundred years. How could he try to break through to the third-grade so soon? His foundation is solid..."

Chu Tai thought of something when he was talking. Zen Master Zhiyu said, "It seems that the hermit has understood that the imperial court is spreading his faith at this time and asking us to worship his statue in order to help him gather incense and vows, and expand the corresponding concepts, so that he can break through the third level in the future. However, this senior has obviously been tricked..."

"You mean, these changes before our eyes are not the result of the Dao Fruit of this Qingli Wealth Immortal?"

Although Chu Tai could see that the dirt on the copper coin and the copper coin were not the result of one person's Taoism, and that someone was plotting against the Qingli Wealth Immortal Yang Wenjing, this was the result of his calculations based on the traces he had discovered with the help of the protection of the Donghuang Bell and the power of Yun Zhongjun.

What did the Zen master in front of us rely on to come to this conclusion?

Zen Master Zhiyu explained: "This Qingli Caixian once came to Faguang Temple. He did not donate to our temple at that time, but taught us ways to make money and survive. In exchange, he hoped that we could protect the surrounding mountain people and the Baiyun Temple lineage. At the same time, he asked us to swear that whenever we saw people who couldn't survive, we would give them a bowl of porridge and a meal, and teach them some ways to survive."

"Although we have been doing these things, the specific implementation still depends on the harvest of the year and the savings in the temple. Before I met this wealth fairy, my Faguang Temple was far from being as magnificent as it is now. It was only by using his methods that we have the current prosperous incense. It is also because of the agreement with him that we have so many good reputations."

"If we follow what the Zen master said and have been doing it all along, then although what Caixian did was a good deed, it cannot be said that the reputation of Faguang Temple was gained because of the agreement with him."

Chu Tai's words made the Zen master smile: "In the past, I might have told myself this, but today is different."

After walking two steps outside, Master Zhiyu looked at the magnificent temple and said, "I still have desires that I cannot see through, let alone the other disciples in the temple. They will not deduct money for a few taels of silver, will not deliberately delay, or take kickbacks?"

"Even though we had an agreement in the past and my orders, they still did the opposite after their desires were magnified and they found an excuse to be influenced by the statue. How can I say that we can stick to our original idea without an agreement?"

As he spoke, a faint Buddha light emerged from the Zen master's body, and there was also a wisdom light turning between his eyebrows. He smiled and said, "After all, doing good deeds can only last long if it comes from the heart. Otherwise, it can only be supervised by external forces. Therefore, I should not have welcomed the statue in the first place. After discovering the problem, I should not have thought of suppressing it, but should have regarded it as a kind of tempering."

As he spoke, Zen Master Zhiyu put his hands together and whispered, "May this merit adorn the Pure Land of Buddha... May all who see and hear this develop a Bodhi mind..."
