Chapter 2 Riot
The climate in southern Peru is mild. Anthony, who had just walked out of the hall, was blown by the sea breeze, and his drunken brain instantly became much clearer. "Strange, why is the guard gone?" Anthony said as he walked towards the sentry post. Two oil-soaked torches in front of the wooden door illuminated the area.

Anthony felt something was wrong. Even if the sentinels were careless, they would not all leave. Something must have happened.

Anthony reached for the pistol at his waist with his right hand, but before he could touch it, a cold dagger was pressed against his back.
"Mr. Anthony, nice to meet you here." A greeting came from behind him, but Anthony didn't feel the other party's kindness at all.

"Sir, relax and talk nicely."

Anthony didn't know the identity of the person behind this, so he pretended to be calm.

"Haha, Mr. Anthony, don't you recognize me so soon?" Li Mingyuan put away the dagger and walked in front of him.

"It's you, my God, are you going to riot?" Anthony said in shock.

"Of course, what else do you think I'm going to do?" Li Mingyuan said calmly.

"Prince, don't waste time talking to him, just kill this foreigner." Wang Dashan walked out of the darkness with a dozen young men and pointed a dagger at Anthony.

"No, dear Li, it was Borja who bullied you, I never bullied you." Anthony was shocked by Wang Dashan's performance and hurriedly explained.

"Haha, don't be afraid. You haven't done anything to hurt us, and I won't harm you." Li Mingyuan smiled and patted his shoulder.

"Prince, Borja and other supervisors are inside. The brothers have surrounded the hall." Wang Xiaoshan reported to Li Mingyuan in a low voice.

"Great, is everyone else ready?" Li Mingyuan asked.

"Everything is ready, just waiting for the prince's orders."

"Xiaoshan, go and inform them that the action has begun. Dashan, let's go together to see our old friend Borja." Li Mingyuan said coldly, gazing at the brightly lit hall.

When a group of people arrived in front of the hall, the guards around had been killed by Li Mingyuan's men. The arrival of so many people did not alarm anyone. The people inside were still living a life of drunkenness and had no idea that death was only one step away from them.

With a loud bang, the door was kicked open by Wang Dashan, and then everyone surrounded Li Mingyuan and walked in.

"Don't move." Wang Dashan warned, holding the captured musket.

The mine boss who was drinking and dancing was stunned for a moment. The Chinese workers who were usually hardworking and persevering in their work actually rioted.

The two supervisors picked up the pistols at their waists and were about to fight back, but were shot dead by two of Li Mingyuan's men.

"You all have to cooperate well to save your lives, otherwise these two will become your examples."

Li Mingyuan warned the crowd.

"Prince, catch this old man Borja." Wang Dashan threw Borja in front of Li Mingyuan and said.

"Borja, I didn't expect that we would meet in this kind of occasion." Li Mingyuan said, stepping on his face.

Borja was extremely frightened. He had never expected that the Chinese workers would riot, and that it would be led by a young man who had been very cowardly two months ago.

"Li, as long as you stop now, I promise to give you freedom." Borja said with a glimmer of hope.

"Haha, don't you think it's too late to say this now?" Li Mingyuan sneered.

"It's not too late, don't worry, I won't hold you responsible." Borja misunderstood Li Mingyuan's meaning and was thinking of deceiving them first and then causing trouble for them later.

"Old dog, there's no need for you to pretend to be kind. You should just worry about your own life." Wang Dashan spat at Borja.

"Dashan, lock up the people in the hall separately. We'll go look somewhere else." Li Mingyuan said a few words and stopped talking nonsense with Borja. He made arrangements.
The raid on the hall went smoothly. Under Li Mingyuan's personal leadership, the twelve Indian mercenaries on guard were killed without any casualties, and then all the people in the hall were captured. Without the command of the supervisor leader, the other supervisors were quickly captured by the people sent by Li Mingyuan, but a company of Peruvian soldiers stationed in the mine stumped Li Sandou.

"Prince, Yamaguchi's army has strong firepower. Our brothers have spent a lot of effort but failed to defeat them." Li Sandou said ashamedly.

"How are the casualties, brothers?"

"Three people died and fourteen were injured," Li Sandou replied.

"Fortunately, the number of casualties is not too high." Li Mingyuan breathed a sigh of relief. There are not many Chinese in South America, and Li Mingyuan's soldiers are dying one less, and there is no replacement in a short time, so he is very concerned about the casualties of the soldiers.

"Prince, the Peruvian army used a kind of musket that we have never seen before. It can fire continuously. It is because of this weapon that our brothers cannot rush forward." Li Sandou explained.

Hearing Li Sandou's words, Li Mingyuan had already guessed that the continuous-fire musket he was talking about was the Gatling hand-cranked machine gun of later generations. When hot weapons had not yet matured, the hand-cranked machine gun was indeed the biggest killer of infantry, and it was not easy to deal with the Gatling hand-cranked machine gun. (During the Uruguayan War, the Gatling hand-cranked machine gun was first used in the South American battlefield)
Li Mingyuan lowered his head and thought for a while, then came up with a solution.

"Uncle Li, take me to the position. I have thought of a way to deal with them."

"Yes, Prince." Li Sandou replied.

The mountain pass was not far from the hall, and Li Mingyuan arrived in front of the position in a short while.
"Prince, the Peruvians have placed the kind of 'machine guns and cannons' you mentioned right in the middle of the mountain pass, just blocking our way to charge." Li Sandou said, pointing to the front.

Li Mingyuan observed the mountain pass and found that there were more than a hundred soldiers in total, and a machine gun was placed in the middle of the pass.

"Dashan, Xiaoshan, pick out ten quick-moving brothers to load the bullets for me."

"Yes," the two men replied and immediately arranged for manpower.

"Uncle Li, take your men and hide on both sides of the mountain pass first. As soon as I open fire, you lead your men to rush forward." Li Mingyuan ordered.

"I understand, Prince." Li Shijian would not wait for anyone. If they failed to take the mountain pass, everyone would die when the Peruvian reinforcements arrived. Li Sandou thought that Li Mingyuan had no good idea and was just sacrificing human lives, so he answered with a desperate attitude.

This battle was a matter of life and death. Li Mingyuan didn't have the energy to consider what Li Sandou was thinking. He just aimed the gun in his hand seriously.

Li Mingyuan had been a mercenary in his previous life, so fighting and shooting were his strengths. So when facing the enemy, he was very patient. He aimed for ten minutes without moving. A trickle of sweat flowed down his head, and Li Mingyuan's slightly closed right eye suddenly opened.

"Hit!" Li Mingyuan exclaimed softly and quickly pulled the trigger. The bullet accurately hit the machine gunner. The gunshot was the signal. Li Sandou led more than a hundred veteran Taiping Army soldiers and rushed up immediately.
Seeing the Taiping Army rushing up, the Peruvian army hurriedly sent people to replace the machine gunners, but what was shocking was that before the replacement machine gunners could open fire, seven or eight machine gunners were killed by Li Mingyuan's gun.
Without the suppression of machine guns and artillery, the mediocre Peruvian army was no match for the battle-hardened Taiping Army. After the Taiping Army rushed onto the position and killed a dozen Peruvian soldiers, the rest all raised their hands in surrender.

"Haha, it's such a joy to kill." Li Sandou said as he stood at the mountain pass position, holding a musket.

"Old Li, this small battle is nothing. When I was serving His Royal Highness the Prince, I have experienced large-scale battles involving hundreds of thousands of troops." Chen Guozhu looked down on Li Sandou.

"Old Chen, you didn't see the power of the machine gun. If the prince hadn't killed the machine gunner, I might have died on the way to the charge." Li Sandou said with lingering fear.

"That's right. The prince is blessed by God and will lead us to rebuild the kingdom of heaven. How can some Peruvian troops be the prince's opponent?" Chen Guozhu said proudly.

"Uncle Chen, the prince was like a god possessed just now. He killed an enemy with one bullet. Before I could react, the prince had killed five or six enemies." A young man who was reloading bullets for Li Mingwei said respectfully.

"The Crown Prince is young and promising, and as brave as the Prince of Attendants was when he was young." Chen Guozhu sighed.

"Uncle Chen, the prince asked you to clean up the battlefield quickly. He has something important to discuss with you when he returns." Wang Xiaoshan's arrival interrupted Chen Guozhu's recollection.

"I understand. I'll be back soon." Chen Guozhu waved his hand.
