As Wei Yuan walked out of the conference room after the meeting, he checked the time; the meeting had lasted a full three hours and nine minutes. Mike's speech was so passionate that no further declaration of resolve was needed.

Many people rushed out of the meeting room. The meeting had been delayed by an hour, which meant they would have to work an extra hour that day. That wasn't all; the real problem was that many work deadlines wouldn't be extended as a result.

But Wei Yuan suddenly remembered something and rushed back to the conference room against the flow of people.

The speaker on the podium was still reeling from the speech, watching the people in the conference room surge towards the exit like sardines. But one little fish was swimming against the tide, heading straight for him.

It was already past closing time. Wei Yuan glanced at the work system. All of today's work was completed, and the schedule had been automatically updated with a requirement to report to the Thor Gene Lab at 7:00 AM the next morning.
