Chapter 763 Whose Youth

Chapter 763 Whose Youth

Looking at the huge, bright windows and the neatly arranged tables and chairs, Wei Yuan picked up a steamed bun, put it in his mouth, and swallowed it in one gulp. He secretly resolved that when he got back, he would definitely build a cafeteria, bigger, brighter, and cleaner than this one. Most importantly, he wanted to make sure everyone could afford to eat there…

A stack of steamers was placed in front of Wei Yuan. Bao Yun sat down next to Wei Yuan and said, "Don't you chew your buns?"

Wei Yuan looked up again, swallowed the bun in his mouth, and said, "Eating this way is faster and avoids accidents."

"What kind of unexpected event could happen?" Bao Yun asked curiously.

Suddenly, a lunchbox flew over. Wei Yuan tried to dodge, but his body wouldn't obey him. He only managed to turn his head slightly before being hit with a thud.

Now Bao Yun knows what kind of unexpected events might occur.

She turned around and saw Li Tianci and a group of people sitting at a table in the back. There were seven or eight people at that table, with Li Tianci sitting in the middle. He was quite tall and his appearance was actually not bad, but he had medium-length hair that hung down to almost cover his eyes, which was out of place with the school's style.

Li Tianci turned around and sat down, leaning back on the table with his legs spread apart, looking incredibly cool and audacious. His chin was held high, and he looked down at Wei Yuan with his nostrils flared. A boy next to him was still in a tossing pose, his demeanor full of provocation.

Peacock, sitting opposite the two, hesitated for a moment and said, "Brother Yuan, class is about to start, and there are too many of them..."

"I'll eat your steamed bun to relieve your worries," Wei Yuan said earnestly to Bao Yun, then picked up his porridge bowl and walked towards Li Tianci's table.

Seeing Wei Yuan approach, Li Tianci sneered and said, "What, you have money for breakfast now? This isn't a place for a poor wretch like you..."

Before he could finish speaking, everything went black, and Wei Yuan dumped a bowl of porridge on his head!
Immediately afterwards, Wei Yuan pounced on Li Tianci, pinning him to the ground and punching him repeatedly in the face.

The others at the table were shocked and rushed forward, but they couldn't pull Wei Yuan away. They could only surround him and punch and kick him. Li Tianci's screams echoed through the crowd, but Wei Yuan's voice was nowhere to be heard.

"I have to go over there, you take your time eating!" Peacock greeted Bao Yun, then jumped up, grabbed a chair, and rushed over. But in the blink of an eye, he was knocked to the ground and surrounded by the crowd, being punched and kicked.

A thunderous roar suddenly echoed through the cafeteria: "If you're not going to eat properly, get out!!"

Then, the cafeteria lady rushed out, carrying a huge ladle. She put her hands on her hips and shouted, and a gust of wind swept through the cafeteria.

Li Tianci's men quickly stopped and hurriedly pulled the exhausted Wei Yuan off Li Tianci and threw him aside. A handsome student ran up to the older woman and said respectfully, "It's not our fault, he attacked first."

The cafeteria lady brandished her ladle and said, "I don't care about anything else, get out of here! If you cause trouble on my turf, even the principal can't protect you!"

The group of delinquent students, as if seeing a tiger, picked up Li Tianci and hurriedly fled the cafeteria.

Wei Yuan lay on his back, his face smeared with blood. He was in so much pain that he couldn't even lift his arm. Just then, he felt a cool, slippery sensation on his face, and his vision gradually cleared.

After regaining his sight, Wei Yuan could see Bao Yun squatting in front of him, a steamed bun in her mouth, wiping the blood and grime from his face with her hands. She wasn't using a handkerchief, but her own hands. Yet, her expression was calm, as if she were doing the most ordinary thing.

Suddenly, a piercing bell rang out—the bell signaling the start of class, with another official bell to follow shortly. The students in the cafeteria, like startled rabbits, immediately dropped everything and rushed to their classrooms.

Bao Yun took a bite out of the bun, stuffed it into Wei Yuan's mouth, picked him up, and dragged him toward the classroom.

Wei Yuan, with a steamed bun in his mouth, was running as fast as he could. He had a vague feeling that if he was late for class, something terrible might happen.

The two ran all the way and finally rushed into the classroom at the last moment.

As soon as they entered the classroom, everyone's eyes fell on the two of them. Li Tianci was sitting in the back row, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth with a tissue. When he saw Wei Yuan, his eyes immediately filled with hatred.

Upon entering the classroom, Wei Yuan saw his seat and Bao Yun's seat, which were quite far apart. Bao Yun pulled Wei Yuan to her seat and said to the boy sitting next to him, "Why don't you switch seats with him?"

When the boy saw Bao Yun talking to him, his face immediately turned as red as if it had been smeared with blood. He stammered, "But I, I don't want to..." With a clatter, Bao Yun swept everything on his table onto the floor.

The boy's eyes immediately reddened, and with tears in his eyes, he picked up his stationery and books and slowly walked to Wei Yuan's original seat.

Wei Yuan sat down, his heart finally at ease, and he looked up to swallow the steamed bun. As soon as the bun entered his stomach, a warm current spread throughout his body, and he could clearly feel that his strength had increased a little.

Just then, the teacher walked into the classroom and was about to close the door when suddenly the door was kicked open with a bang, and the peacock tumbled into the classroom. At that moment, the shrill school bell rang, its sound hoarse, clearly indicating that the bell was long overdue for repair.

The teacher glanced at the peacock and closed the classroom door. He walked to the podium, adjusted his black-rimmed glasses, and said, "Everyone, turn to page 138. Let's review what we learned last lesson... Who can tell me what this molecular formula represents?"

Wei Yuan's body picked up the textbook and turned to the designated page, but at this moment, Wei Yuan's consciousness intervened, flipped back to the cover and glanced at it, only to see that it read "Chemistry".

Chemical?

Wei Yuan's spirits lifted, and he was suddenly wide awake. He looked at the page he had turned to, but it was like reading gibberish; he couldn't understand its meaning at all.

Just then, the teacher said, "Wei Yuan, you answer this."

Wei Yuan stood up and said, "I can't."

The class burst into laughter. Li Tianci laughed especially heartily, pounding the table so hard he almost cramped up.

The teacher's face was already ashen. He said, "Wei Yuan! Your family is so poor, and you still don't study hard. How can you face your parents?! You didn't even know what was taught yesterday. All you do is skip classes, smoke, and fight. What can you do when you grow up? How will you earn money to support your family? Are you like everyone else? Other families have money. What do you have? You still have to rely on your parents to support you when you grow up. Aren't you ashamed?!"

Wei Yuan was taken aback, and the words he was about to say suddenly fell silent. He immediately bowed and said, "I was wrong."

The teacher was taken aback, took a few deep breaths, and softened his tone considerably, saying, "You can't make mistakes by talking, and apologizing won't help. Study hard; this is the only opportunity you can grasp, and it's also the easiest thing you'll ever do in your life. Sit down."

Wei Yuan sat down, turned back to the first page of the book, and began to read intently. Bao Yun looked at Wei Yuan and asked, "Is your family very poor?"

Wei Yuan casually said, "My family farms. I remember one year there was a severe drought, and we couldn't even afford meat."

"So, do you have a car at home? You mean one of those big ones, the kind that can be used for planting and harvesting?"

"No carts, but donkeys."

The classroom erupted in laughter again, with both boys and girls laughing, and some even imitating donkey braying.

Bao Yun didn't laugh, but said, "I have money, so you can spend my money from now on."

The laughter in the classroom suddenly stopped, and many boys slowly opened their mouths wide, looking like they were asking, "Why?"

A sweet-looking girl sat in the front row. She turned around, looked at Wei Yuan, then at Bao Yun, and asked, "Bao Yun, I heard you asked him to be your boyfriend?"

"Yes."

The sweet girl didn't believe it and said, "You probably just want an obedient follower. Girls like us need to have a few followers to save face. Real boyfriends and girlfriends should have those, well, very intimate actions."

"Is that so?" Bao Yun pulled Wei Yuan over and kissed him on the cheek.

In an instant, the room fell silent, then a murderous intent arose.
