Captain Jack of Azeroth
Chapter 214 Return to Shield Island
Chapter 214 Return to Shield Island
The bronze dragon is in place, now all that's left is for the Arcandor to bear fruit.
Jack thought about it and found Farondis. "With so many of us, we can't just sit there and wait, right?"
"What other ideas do you have?" Farodis asked.
Jack said, "Why don't we get that artifact first."
"You mean Shield Island?" Farondis thought for a moment and said, "This is a good idea. We have already cracked most of the runes on Shield Island. It will be no problem to crack the remaining runes using brute force."
Chromie came over and said, "What runes? Maybe I can help."
"I can help too!" Stellagosa also said, "Many rare runes are recorded by blue dragons."
Jack smiled and said, "That's great!"
Farondis left Ael'eis behind to help the Nightborne defend the Arcandor.
When Talissa learned that Jack was going to attack Shield Island, she rushed over with some collectors. "After you capture Shield Island, there will definitely be a lot of arcane energy dissipated on the ground. I have some collectors here that can collect this arcane energy and bring it back to serve as nutrients for the Arcandor."
"No problem, we will collect all the scattered arcane energy."
Jack readily agreed, but it was just a matter of convenience. If the arcane energy in the Eternal Bottle was not running low, he would have wanted to use the Eternal Bottle to water Arcandor.
Farondis brought more than 30 powerful wizards on the Black Pearl. Chromie and Stellagosa were teasing Giramar and Galadin, and it seemed that they liked these two children very much.
Everyone was on board, and Jack immediately started the Black Pearl and sailed towards Shield Island with three sailboats.
There were no Kvaldir ships on the way. After the last failure, they seemed to have given up on this place temporarily. After all, most of the Vrykul in Stormheim had been killed, and there was nothing worth attacking. And after being captured last time, Aiel was much more cautious and did not appear in front of the Kvaldir at all.
Four ships stopped at the coast of Shield Island, and troops were continuously transported to Shield Island in lifeboats.
Jack tried to lure the Vikings above, but these Vikings had become smarter and just stayed outside the tomb gate, ignoring the ogre's provocation.
"Just attack!"
Farondis said that there was no shortcut now and the only way left was to attack with force.
"Don't worry!" Jack said with a smile, "Everyone, prepare for defense. Musketeers, bring your mortars and follow me."
When he went ashore, he asked the crew to bring thirty mortars to deal with this situation. After all, last time, these Vikus were bombed by cannons and were no longer tempted.
Jack led them to climb the nearby high mountain, set up the mortars, and calibrated them personally. With the help of magic markers, Jack quickly debugged all the mortars.
As soon as the musketeers were in position, Jack immediately gave the order: "Three rapid shots, fire!"
"Boom boom boom——"
The mortar was easy to operate, and its three-round rapid fire was faster than that of a cannon. In just a few seconds, nearly a hundred shells fell on the Vrykul position.
The Vrykul people didn't expect to be bombarded at the gate of the tomb, and they were blown upside down. The Vrykul people knew that they couldn't be bombed like this, so they immediately rushed to the hillside to destroy the artillery position.
Vereesa immediately commanded the army to intercept them. "Mage, block the Vrykul's path."
"Rangers, attack the vrykul's flanks!"
Farondis and his men immediately cast a spell, casting a powerful wall of fire. The rangers also attacked from the flanks, shooting countless arrows at the Vrykul.
But the ranger's arrows were no different from needles to the Vrykul. They came to the fire wall under the arrows and shouted, "Charge!"
The fearless Vrykul showed their courage and rushed through the wall of fire in a few steps. Seeing this, Mars immediately summoned water to rush the Vrykul back to the wall of fire. However, the water also extinguished the wall of fire. The Vrykul struggled to stand up on the mud and continued to rush up the hillside.
Jack shouted, "Farodis, dig a hole!"
Farondis immediately cast a spell and dug a large hole directly on the mountainside.
The Vrykul were unable to cross the pit, some jumped in, and some chose to take a detour.
Jack took out a bunch of magic bombs and threw them into the pit one by one. The Vikings who jumped into the pit were killed or injured by the magic bombs before they could climb out, and all of them withdrew from the battle.
The remaining Vrykul were horrified. They could not move forward or backward. If they moved forward, they would face countless attacks. If they moved backward, Shield Rest Island was isolated overseas and they could not escape the pursuit of the ships.
When Jack saw the Vikus hesitate, he immediately shouted, "Surrender now, and I can spare your life."
"Surrender without killing!"
"Surrender and you won't be killed!!"
The crew members immediately followed suit and shouted, and when one Vikus threw down his weapon, the other Vikus slowly put down their weapons.
The mages took out their magical shackles and put them on the vrykul.
Everyone came to the barrier, and Farondis presided over the deciphering work and activated the runes on the barrier. Nathalas deciphered most of it, and those runes were quickly cracked.
Chromie and Stellagosa came to the undeciphered runes and deciphered the runes they knew.
There were only a few runes left, and Mars channeled the energy in the Eternal Bottle to blast them open.
The barrier disappeared, and the door of the tomb slowly opened, revealing a stone platform. On the platform was a corpse of a Vrykul, and behind the platform was a musket surrounded by thunder.
Everyone looked at Jack, who walked in first. He came to the musket, and just as he stretched out his hand, he was struck away by a thunderbolt.
Jack felt a tingling sensation and felt as if he had been electrocuted.
Iser asked in panic, "What's going on? This gun can actually attack people on its own?"
Farondis shook his head. "This is just the artifact's self-protection mechanism. If you can't overcome this mechanism, you won't be able to use it even if you get it."
"So, we have come here for nothing?"
"of course not!"
Jack turned around and said with a smile.
But his dark face from being electrocuted, coupled with his white teeth, gave him an inexplicable sense of humor.
Everyone couldn't help laughing and tried hard to hold back their laughter, but they just couldn't help it.
Jack didn't care about being knocked away by the thunder, but was happy in his heart. This showed that Titan's Strike was very powerful, and he would have another killer weapon.
He took out a snakeskin glove, grasped the Titan's Strike, and stuffed it into the magic package.
"Okay, let's go!"
Everyone returned to the Black Pearl and released the Vikings before leaving, letting them stay on Shield Island to fend for themselves.
