Rebirth 2010: I taught Mr. Lei how to make a mobile phone
Chapter 628: Meeting All Kinds of People
Chapter 628: The Two Sessions
On March 2015, 3, the first day after the Lantern Festival, the two sessions arrived as scheduled.
The government work report mentioned "Internet" eight times, and the "Internet Plus" action plan has officially become a national strategy.
The frequent appearance of words such as mobile Internet, cloud computing, and big data indicates the coming of industrial transformation.
During the ten-day meeting, delegates and members held heated discussions on major issues such as investment and financing system reform, fiscal and taxation policy adjustments, price mechanism innovation, financial system improvement, and deepening reform of state-owned enterprises. The reform process in areas such as social livelihood, judicial justice, etc. will also be comprehensively accelerated.
The proposals of leading Internet companies have become the focus of media attention.
Alibaba Group Chairman Jack Ma carefully prepared two important proposals: "Proposal on improving the Internet credit system and promoting the development of small and micro enterprises" and "Proposal on cracking down on counterfeit and shoddy goods and protecting intellectual property rights."
During the group discussion, he pointed out in a resounding voice: "The Internet is by no means a virtual economy, but a new type of infrastructure for future economic development. Governments at all levels should attach as much importance to Internet construction as they do to traditional infrastructure such as water, electricity and coal, and especially focus on supporting the healthy development of the Internet financial industry."
He particularly stressed that "regulatory authorities need to establish an inclusive and prudent regulatory principle to avoid falling into the vicious circle of 'control leads to death, while letting things go leads to chaos'."
Tencent CEO Pony Ma presented the "Suggestions on Promoting Economic and Social Innovation and Development Driven by "Internet +"" and the "Suggestions on Accelerating the Popularization and Application of Mobile Internet in People's Livelihood".
He put forward two core views: "The essence of 'Internet+' is to realize the interconnection of all things. In the future, all industries will undergo Internet-based transformation and upgrading";
"Cybersecurity governance requires the construction of a joint prevention and control mechanism led by the government and coordinated by enterprises, and cannot rely solely on individual enterprises."
Baidu founder Robin Li submitted the "Proposal on establishing the 'Huaxia Intelligent Brain' plan to promote the leapfrog development of artificial intelligence" and the "Suggestions on fully opening up hospital registration numbers and optimizing the allocation of medical resources."
In his speech, he made an impassioned speech: "Artificial intelligence will be the most disruptive technological revolution in the next decade, and our country must not fall behind in this technological competition";
"Internet technology can effectively alleviate the problem of difficulty in seeing a doctor, but it requires breakthrough support at the policy level. Baidu is willing to take on this historical responsibility."
Lei Jun, Chairman of Xiaomi Technology, brought forward "Suggestions on Promoting the Innovation and Development of the Smart Hardware Industry" and "Suggestions on Improving the Policy Environment for Innovation and Entrepreneurship."
He passionately stated: "China's manufacturing industry must complete the strategic transformation from 'cheap OEM' to 'intelligent creation', and the intelligent hardware industry is the key breakthrough to achieve this transformation."
"The core of Xiaomi's innovation lies in the revolution in business efficiency. We reconstruct the industrial chain through Internet thinking to maximize benefits for consumers."
As the Labor Contract Law celebrates its seventh anniversary of implementation, the protection of labor rights and interests has become a hot topic at this year's two sessions.
This trend can be clearly seen from many representative proposals:
The All-China Federation of Trade Unions submitted a proposal on standardizing the special working hours management system and protecting workers' right to rest, focusing on the regulatory loopholes in the "irregular working hours system" and the "comprehensive working hours system" to prevent companies from forcing overtime in disguise.
There were many highlights in the individual proposals: "Proposal on strengthening the protection of labor rights and interests of employees in new business forms" by Zhang Shiping, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, "Proposal on strengthening the enforcement of criminal accountability for "malicious wage arrears"" by Zhu Xueqin, a representative of migrant workers, and "Proposal on establishing a rapid mediation mechanism for labor disputes" by Cao Yisun, a professor at China University of Political Science and Law.
Chen Mo, Chairman of the Bi'an Group, who has attracted the most media attention, did not continue the "Internet +" theme of previous years this year. Instead, he took a different approach and submitted two proposals that directly hit social pain points:
Proposal on Substantially Increasing the Cost of Corporate Violations and Strengthening Labor Law Supervision
"Suggestions on regulating Internet financial innovation and preventing systemic financial risks"
In his first labor rights proposal, Chen Mo put forward three important suggestions:
Establish a tiered punishment mechanism for enterprises involved in illegal activities, significantly increase the standards for economic penalties, and establish a corporate labor law violation credit blacklist system.
Corporate leaders who systematically violate labor laws over a long period of time and cause serious consequences or major impacts may be held criminally liable.
Build a nationwide networked labor rights supervision platform led by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and coordinated by the Ministry of Public Security and the State Administration for Market Regulation.
In the subsequent interview with reporters, Chen Mo's speech was deafening:
"The reason why some companies dare to violate the law recklessly is that the cost of violating the law is seriously inverted compared to the cost of abiding by it! Labor law should not be a 'cotton swab' without deterrence, but a 'high-voltage wire' with electricity!"
"Faced with the current situation where companies have sufficient funds in their accounts but maliciously delay the payment of wages to migrant workers, and court decisions have become 'legal IOUs', we must establish a rapid enforcement mechanism: freezing accounts, auctioning assets, restricting high consumption and other measures must be implemented simultaneously!"
"If a company must rely on illegal overtime to maintain its operations, then such a company should be eliminated by the market! Workers are not disposable dry batteries, but the cornerstone of the country's economic development!"
"I hereby solemnly call for illegal companies to pay an unbearable price and for workers to have an unimpeded path to defend their rights! This is not only a matter of fairness and justice, but also a social bottom line that cannot be crossed!"
In his proposal on Internet finance, Chen Mo suggested: implementing classified licensing management for financial technology companies; establishing a dynamic risk assessment and early warning mechanism; and strengthening the protection of consumer personal information.
He especially warned: "The premise of innovation in Internet finance is that risks are controllable, and we must never engage in 'usury' in the name of 'technology'. Investors must raise their awareness of risks and protect their 'wallets'." After being reported by the media, Chen Mo's remarks, which directly hit the nail on the head, caused a strong response among the general public on the Internet, and triggered widespread discussion and in-depth thinking among the public.
This has caused a particular uproar in the Internet and financial industries, because it directly touched the interests of some companies. Some technology companies that rely on the "996 work system" to reduce costs and increase efficiency have complained privately, and some people even implied that he "relies on the trend to make a living, but destroys the jobs of his peers."
An executive of an e-commerce platform said bluntly at a closed-door meeting: "It is a trend to tighten labor laws, but if the standards are raised too high all at once, how can small and medium-sized enterprises survive? Everyone can shout slogans, but Chen Mo is just talking without any pain."
Some P2P financial practitioners are even more indignant, believing that Chen Mo's proposal is to "suppress competitors in the name of supervision." After all, the WeChat of the Bi'an Group is also developing financial technology, so it is inevitable that it will be questioned for "being both a referee and a player."
Although these voices have not been expressed publicly, dissatisfaction with Chen Mo is quietly brewing in small circles within the industry.
Chen Mo's sharp remarks put the media in a dilemma - on the one hand, his remarks that directly hit social pain points are highly contagious and offensive, and can obviously bring huge traffic, but on the other hand, some financial media are worried that his proposals are too radical and may affect the stability of the business environment.
An authoritative economic newspaper published a commentary saying: "Strengthening the protection of labor rights and interests is the general trend, but it is necessary to balance the pressure of enterprise survival and avoid going too far."
The left-leaning social news media praised Chen Mo highly, saying that he "dares to speak up for workers and demonstrates the social responsibility of entrepreneurs."
Unlike the complex reactions of the industry and the media, ordinary netizens almost unanimously supported Chen Mo's proposal.
On social platforms such as Weibo and Zhihu, the number of readings of the topic #陈默将聲为工人# quickly exceeded 100 million.
Countless netizens shared their experiences of being maliciously owed wages and forced to work overtime on the Zhiyan APP, either with their real names or anonymously, and bluntly said that "someone should have stepped forward to rectify the chaos in the workplace long ago."
The workers especially agreed with the metaphor that “laborers are not dry batteries” and left comments one after another: “Finally, a big boss speaks human language!”
However, there are also a few voices questioning their motives, believing that "there must be something fishy about capitalists suddenly speaking for workers", but such views were quickly drowned out by mainstream public opinion.
Overall, no matter what the final outcome of Chen Mo’s proposal is, it has at least successfully awakened the public’s awareness of protecting their own labor rights and interests.
As the two sessions came to a successful conclusion, a series of behind-the-scenes photos of the bigwigs at the venue sparked heated discussions on the Internet.
Netizens, who have always been good at "creating memes", quickly launched a unique "Two Sessions Awards Ceremony".
After a rigorous voting across the entire network, the "Internet F4" officially debuted: the handsome Xiao Mo, the handsome Xiao Leo, the gentle and elegant Xiao Ma, and the wise Papa Ma.
Among them, the title of "the most handsome CEO in the Internet circle" fell on Chen Mo without any suspense, and Li Yanhong suffered defeat again.
The award for "The Funniest Representative" was easily won by Lei Jun. This technology tycoon, who took cute selfies in front of the Great Hall with a selfie stick, proved with practical actions that his title of "the most down-to-earth entrepreneur" is not undeserved.
But what went viral this year was a "famous scene" that was captured accidentally.
An unknown photographer accurately captured this moment: Old Ma was pointing at Little Ma who was listening with his head down. The picture looked like the classic scene of a teacher disciplining his students.
As soon as this photo was leaked, it immediately set off the entire Internet. After nine years of compulsory education, netizens have become very skilled and have started to "read pictures and speak for themselves":
"I actually felt that aliens were well behaved when I saw them one day."
"How come there's a guy with a weird look among these representatives? Others are here for the meeting, but Hakire is here to clock in. He's obviously a poor student."
“TX: I make money from students. AL: I make money from women. T&A: We both have a bright future!”
"Little Ma is obviously a kid who doesn't study hard. He plays games all day long. He must have been criticized and educated by Teacher Ma."
Even gave them various lines for this scene:
"Old Ma: You can learn from anyone, but how can you learn from Chen Mo! Little Ma: Um, why is there one less character on the nameplate on your desk than on mine? Where's the one in the middle?"
"Lao Ma: Xiao Ma, I'm not saying anything bad about you, but how come I'm still in Silver after playing over 100 games of League of Legends?
Xiao Ma: Didn’t you charge money?
