Chapter 155 A bright future
Chapter 155 A bright future
She froze on the spot, covering her mouth with her hands, her expression as if she were dreaming.
"You don't want to?" Roman turned around and sat in the chair where Sanna had been sitting, then placed her on his lap, held her in his arms, and asked softly.
"Don't you want to become my personal attendant?"
She leaned against his chest, her keen senses able to feel the breath he exhaled and spoke, brushing against her ear.
Those magnetic voices rang clearly in her ears, like electric eels thrashing about inside them. She felt a tingling, numb sensation throughout her body, and her face turned an astonishing red.
She had a healthy tan, but now that skin tone has become darker, giving the impression of someone who has walked on the beach and been sunburned.
That's right!
That’s the feeling!
She was receiving the intense, direct love from the sun, so her movements were somewhat awkward and shy.
“Master, why?” Kao asked incredulously. “No… I’m not questioning your decision, I’m talking about Sanna…”
He couldn't understand why Sanna received such an honor.
Roman placed his palm on Sanna's face. She closed her eyes shyly, feeling the roughness of his large hand, which made her skin feel a little rough. Her nose was gently pinched and shaken, making it difficult to breathe. She had to breathe through her mouth, and then she found that the sides of her mouth were also pinched. With a gentle press of his strong thumb and forefinger, her immature lips squeezed together vertically, plump and chubby, like she was making a face.
Her skin was very elastic, as is the case for girls her age. Roman was quite fond of it.
He grew increasingly fond of the little fisherwoman. He played with her plump, healthy-looking, rosy face, then bent down and kissed her twice before finally having time to answer Kao's question.
“She has become a witch, and I will train her.” He took out the amethyst, and inside the crystal emerged a magnificent and bizarre scene, which was the magic within Sanna at work.
Only an awakened witch can transform an insignificant fisherwoman into a five-star apostle.
Upon hearing this, Gweil immediately exclaimed in surprise, "Really?!"
"uh-huh!"
Roman was in high spirits. For the past year, he had been yearning for something he could not have, but now he had suddenly obtained the Crouching Dragon and the Phoenix Chick. Who in the world could stop him now!
These two little guys are part of his grand plan for his extraordinary future strategy.
It needs to be taken good care of!
"Sanna! Answer your master! Hurry up!" Kao sat up in pain and yelled at Sanna without regard for his manners. He was so angry at his sister's confused and clueless look that he wanted to hit her with something, but she was sitting on her master's lap, so he couldn't bring himself to do it.
The harsh and stern voice quickly pulled Sanna back to reality from her shock that she was a witch.
"Sir, I do!"
She dreamed of being a servant like Gweil, envying her carefree life and her being pampered. She had only been freed from slavery and relieved of excessive labor because of Khal, yet Khal treated her so badly.
She had been lost for a long time, as if trapped in a strange, dark forest, but now she had finally found her way. She raised her face, gazing into those crimson eyes, recalling the scene in that cold night in the ghostly forest, remembering that warmth.
“Can I treat you like I did for Gweil?” she asked.
"of course can."
"May I call you Roman?"
"Okay."
"Can I have my own room?"
"There will be."
"Should I just listen to you from now on?"
"You are only allowed to be loyal to me!"
Can I eat all the white bread I want?
"Miss, that stuff is unlimited."
"What if Kao bullies me? It hurts a lot when he hits me." "If there's no reason, I'll beat him up for you. It hurts twice as much when he hits you as it does when I hit him."
He answered each and every trivial question with great patience and tireless enthusiasm.
He seemed to radiate light in her eyes.
If Kao is like snow in a gutter, you can feel a certain discomfort just by getting close to it.
He is undoubtedly a sun, its outline radiant with light, yet so all-encompassing and benevolent.
Sanna broke free of his arm, turned to face him, and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, her thick, dark brown hair mixed with fine brown hair. The two were very close, cheeks and chests pressed together. Roman was somewhat taken aback by her actions, but he also reached out and wrapped his arms around her somewhat lithe and slender waist.
Sanna is considered tall for her age, but she pales in comparison to him.
Is it okay for me to treat you like this?
"As long as you don't break my neck."
Sanna was amused and hugged him even tighter. She remembered that when her father came home at night in the small fishing village, she would open the door and a salty sea breeze would blow in. She would often hug her father's neck like this at the door. Only in this way could she embrace the dark-skinned fisherman and smell his sweat and the smell of the sea.
Her mother, whom the villagers had called Da Sanna since she was born, would sit by the fire, diligently mending tattered sails and fishing nets.
The fire was burning brightly, while outside, the cold wind howled, the waves surged, and the houses creaked.
Back then, little Sanna was always worried that the roof would be blown away or the back of the house would collapse, but now she no longer has to worry about that.
The manor houses were sturdy and spacious, and the wheat porridge that I had once dreamed of was the lowest of foods.
All her requests were fulfilled, and Cinderella became Snow White.
She kissed his cheek, but this time she didn't taste the fishy or salty flavor, but rather the soft, resilient skin. Although it hadn't been well-maintained, it had never been roughened by the sea breeze.
Sanna suddenly felt like crying, not because she had received a blessing, but because of an inexplicable surge of emotions. She thought she had forgotten, but she hadn't. She just couldn't think about anything else when she felt insecure.
She suddenly stopped hating Khalil Fáil; perhaps she hated his actions less and more, and instead felt more understanding.
She held him quietly for a moment, until Gweil tugged at Roman's sleeve.
The Witch of Misfortune said somewhat aggrievedly, "Roman, I want one too."
Roman smiled and put Sanna down, then picked up Gweil, which earned him a satisfied expression from Gweil.
"Can I go out with Sanna?" she asked.
"As long as you can pass your studies."
"Mmm!" Gweil broke free from Roman's embrace and landed on her feet.
She was overjoyed because from this day forward, she was no longer alone, no longer the only witch here.
Sanna was no longer just her friend, but her kindred spirit, her sister—just as Ms. Shasta had called her last year.
Only when witches live together can they not be considered outsiders.
After Gweil landed, Sanna, completely disregarding the fact that her ankle was still wrapped in gauze, took her hand, and the two girls ran happily out the door. Their steps were exceptionally light, like two butterflies fluttering in the air. The only thing that didn't match the butterflies was their thick winter clothes.
Roman sat in his chair, his gaze gentle as he watched their figures disappear from sight.
"Master, what will become of Sanna in the future?" Kao asked, always using this title to express his respect.
“She has a bright future,” Roman said, standing up. “Kao, she might achieve even more than you in the future, because you’re too easy to kill.”
Kao lay on the bed, his sword wounds throbbing. He watched Roman leave, pondering those words, and a faint smile appeared on his cold face, as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
"Pirate leader, 'Bonecrusher,' Yorn..."
He muttered the name of his enemy, his eyes turning sinister and terrifying, surging with bloodlust, veins bulging on his arms, and his nails digging deep into his flesh.
