Another reason is more direct: some unexpected problems arose in the later stages of writing.

However, when I was writing about the battle against the Corpse King, I realized a problem: it seems that it would be more enjoyable and direct to just keep pushing forward like this, and the emotions would be more coherent!
Then I just went numb. After building up this bloody arena for so long, am I just going to give up?

During that period, I was really racking my brains, trying all sorts of methods, such as simply not writing it at all to teach the protagonist a lesson, or putting it into a separate chapter later, and so on.
