Chapter 159 Nick Fury's Invitation

Just as Tony Stark and Levi were debating whether to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra before leaving Earth.

Inside S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, after listening to Hawkeye Barton's mission report, pondered how to deal with Tony.

The fact that Tony had a group of "extraordinary people" under his command was already largely confirmed by S.H.I.E.L.D. when they eliminated Hydra's two branches in Austria and Sokovia before the Alliance even formed.

The first one, naturally, is the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., now Captain Britain, Peggy Carter.

When Nick Fury first learned about Peggy Carter's situation, he tried more than once to invite her to rejoin S.H.I.E.L.D.

But Peggy Carter declined them all.

After several exchanges, Nick Fury understood.

The ideas of this first director of S.H.I.E.L.D. were completely different from his own.

And now, the other party is clearly in cahoots with Tony Stark.

Although Peggy Carter has repeatedly claimed that she and Tony were just business partners.

But Nick Fury still suspects that the relationship between the two parties is definitely more than just a simple collaboration.

The second one that can be basically confirmed is the Black Widow agent from the Red Room incident a few years ago. Of course, due to information issues, S.H.I.E.L.D. did not know that there were actually many Black Widows. However, the Alliance only took in three of the original timelines who had received the real Black Widow title. The remaining "Black Widows" were given new identities by Tony and lived their own lives in anonymity.

S.H.I.E.L.D. has always believed that there is only one Black Widow.

They focused their suspicions on Yelena, who frequently appeared around Tony, working as his assistant while attending high school.

They were completely unaware of Melina and Natasha, the two generations who had actually earned the title of Black Widow.

Besides "Black Widow," the only other person S.H.I.E.L.D. could identify was Bruce Banner, the "Hulk," who had a brief appearance at Calvin University.

Although what happened at the time had long been covered up by the military.

However, S.H.I.E.L.D. also has personnel within the military and the Department of Defense.

It was not difficult to obtain information about Banner.

But after Banner fell into Tony's hands, he seemed to disappear from the world completely.

However, with General Ross's daughter frequently visiting Stark Industries, S.H.I.E.L.D. realized that this matter was probably not so simple.

And today, yet another formidable superhuman has come into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s sights.

This is the man who previously claimed to be the world's best shooter in front of Patton, and even looked down on Patton; he's nicknamed Bullseye.

According to Patton's account and the footage from that time.

This marksman's shooting skills are truly terrifying.

Nick Fury was well aware of the capabilities of his trusted confidant, Hawkeye Barton.

But this guy named Bullseye is clearly much stronger than Patton.

These individuals are only those known to S.H.I.E.L.D.

What does S.H.I.E.L.D. not know?
Nick Fury doesn't know how many, but he definitely has more.

So many talented and extraordinary people, instead of joining S.H.I.E.L.D. and contributing to protecting the world, are working for Tony Stark, a billionaire.

In his view, it was a real waste.

"Perhaps it's time to talk to him again!" Nick Fury opened a drawer, took out a document hidden at the bottom, and muttered to himself.

And the name of this document.

It was none other than the "Avengers Project." No surprise, Nick Fury had already begun preparing for this Avengers Project as early as 95, after Captain Marvel first returned to Earth, regained her memories, and began her life as a superhero in the universe.

Even the name "Avengers" comes from the nickname of her aircraft when Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, was a US military pilot.

So far, apart from Hawkeye Patton, who is barely usable, there are only a few others.

Nick Fury has not yet found any suitable members.

But among Tony's "friends," Tony himself is an example.

There are at least four such people...

If we could persuade Tony...

Nick Fury thought for a moment, then picked up the documents and left the office.

…………

"Looks like our director finally couldn't sit still any longer!" In a higher-level office, Alexander Pierce watched Nick Fury's helicopter take off from the building and disappear into the night sky, and couldn't help but sigh.

“Sir, what about Mr. Malik…” Agent Sitwell said.

"Hmph, tell them to behave themselves lately and not to do anything on their own! At least not until Nick Fury figures out Tony Stark's trump card!" Alexander snorted and ordered.

"Yes, sir!" Agent Sitwell replied hastily.

…………

"Mr. Stark!" The next day, at Stark Industries, Tony had barely sat down in his office when Barbara knocked on the door and came in.

"What's the matter, Barbara?" Tony asked calmly upon seeing the arrival of the beautiful S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

“Yes, sir, in fact I’m here to confess my identity to you… In fact I am…” Barbara calmly prepared to reveal her identity.

“S.H.I.E.L.D.” But before Barbara could finish speaking, Tony interrupted and said it for her.

"Huh?" Barbara was slightly surprised.

“You’re an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., I know… but your sudden revelation of your identity is a bit unexpected. What? Facing someone as handsome as me, you finally feel guilty?” Tony said with a smile.

"..." Barbara was shocked, not because her identity had already been exposed, but because of the shamelessness of the world's richest man in front of her.

"Oh, it seems you really feel guilty, then I'll forgive you!" Tony waved his hand very "generously."

“…Phew…Actually, Mr. Stark, I came to see you for two reasons: first, to identify myself, and second, because our director wants to discuss some matters with you.” Barbara suppressed her anger, exhaled, and calmed herself before speaking to Tony.

How could there be such a narcissistic person in this world?

“Nick Fury? He’s like a persistent ghost… What does he want from me?” Tony’s face fell when he heard that it was Nick Fury who wanted to see him.

He was somewhat interested in chatting with a long-legged beauty like Barbara.

But black marinated eggs?
Not to mention that he was discussing with Levi yesterday whether or not to just take down S.H.I.E.L.D.

However, Li Wei eventually persuaded him.

After all, Captain Marvel, the woman who Levi said was a bit crazy, seemed to trust this black-haired guy a lot.

“This is not something I can know, sir!” Barbara said calmly.

"Heh...it seems he doesn't trust you that much...Where is he?" Tony asked.

"That burger joint across from the company that you love to go to!"
