Chapter 178 Thor's Conflict with Batman!

Chapter 178 Thor's Conflict with Batman!
Lex's actions went unnoticed by everyone, except for Batman, who had managed to extract the base's location from Number 17 and the other two. He habitually suspected that this was far from over.

With both battlefields now closed, Natasha began her own actions. First, she used a portal to rescue Thor from the alien battlefield. Then, as agreed, she teleported Batman from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, leaving a bewildered Number 17 and Number 18 inside, desperately shouting at this shameless human!

Tiga landed in New York, and almost everyone gathered together, except for those who were not involved in the battle due to other operations.

Banner, Diana, Iron Man, Batman, Thor, Hawkeye, Daigo, Natasha.

The war was nearing its end, but everyone felt a strange sense of lingering satisfaction.
It was as if they both sensed that something ominous was about to happen.

“You should have teleported later, Natasha. I’ve already defeated that bristling guy. His axe couldn’t stop my hammer at all.”

Thor swung the hammer twice, and Tiga's figure fell from the sky, transforming into the petite form of Daigo Madoka. This was the first time he had seen anyone other than Natasha.

Of course, everyone kept their distance from him, because Daigo hadn't bathed in months, and he was unshaven and unkempt, looking like a beggar who had fled back from a disaster.

Daigo Madoka expressed his helplessness regarding everyone's actions.

Anyone who lived in that kind of environment for a few months would look like that, which is why he didn't use his body to say goodbye to Lina and the others.

"Alright, I think Daigo needs to take a shower first. Welcome back! Congratulations on finally returning to human society from that pervert's adventure. Compared to his adventure, I guarantee you'll fall in love with this world all over again!"

Iron Man first offered words of encouragement to the young Daigo Madoka, expressing his empathy, and then looked at Bruce, who was still dressed in his Batsuit and remained silent, and asked:
"Bruce, did your plan succeed?"

Judging from the extent of the damage to the base, it must have been the site of a war that no human could have stopped, and the fact that Batman is still standing here unharmed suggests that he probably won.

"The attackers were the Red Ribbon Legion's androids and Dr. Gro, and I learned the location of the base from them."

Batman's gaze swept over everyone present, as if he wanted to record each and every one of them. After dealing with Number 17 and Number 18, Bruce clearly tasted the benefits of having a contingency plan in case of trouble.

So, should we continue playing?

Hawkeye rubbed his aching shoulders. Heaven knows how many arrows he shot today; his entire arm ached from drawing the bow.

Iron Man pondered for a moment and said solemnly, "Not necessarily, but I suggest we rest first. We're all in poor condition right now, and I don't believe that Dr. Groh could cause such a big crisis."

Upon hearing this, Diana, who hadn't removed her tactical gear, also agreed with Stark's analysis:

“That’s right. Based on Tony’s previous description of the extraterrestrial attackers, I feel like I’m familiar with them. They seem to be Darkseid’s men.”

“That’s what the great Dark Lord said.”

Thor, who had given Steppenwolf a good beating, nodded. Although the battle had reached the halftime break and a local strategic victory had been achieved, no one had a smile on their face.

Despite it being their first time facing a battle of this magnitude, the group, having been trained by Carrot El, had become exceptionally experienced.

The actual height they observed in this battle demonstrated unprecedented foresight.

Standing on the scorched earth of the ruins, the group huddled together discussing their next move. Thor thought for a moment, then shook his head:

“Darkseid, I have never heard this name from the Allfather.”

"Do you have any records there?" Thor looked at Diana. When Darkseid first attacked, Earth's timeline was still in the period when the Olympian pantheon had emerged. At that time, Odin was still very young, and it was the era when Zeus, Ares, and other old gods dominated the war of the gods!

Later, when the war of the gods ended and the era of the old gods gradually faded away, the Nine Realms fell into unprecedented chaos, with a large number of races left over from the war of the gods filling the entire world.

Scattered gods, each with their own races, mingled on the earth until Odin finally grew up and emerged, thus securing his new throne.

"Yes, it is recorded in the books of Paradise Island."

Diana nodded, her expression somewhat grave. If Darkseid was indeed behind this incident, then his goal was very likely the Mother Box.

Although our side currently possesses astonishingly high combat strength, if these guys on the other side really join forces, it will be difficult for us to achieve the superhuman feat of overcoming all obstacles with sheer force. We will inevitably be caught in a constant state of war where we are exhausted from running around.

At this point, if the other side has enough time to carry out some plans targeting Superman, the blow to them would be devastating.

Upon hearing Diana's answer, Iron Man and Batman were also caught up in a brainstorming session.

Having emerged from the high frequency of combat, Tony also fell into contemplation of the situation, and soon frowned:

"Aliens, humans, riots, androids, and even behemoths suddenly attacked at the same time. Let's assume there is indeed one or more forces pulling the strings behind the scenes. How did they all come together?"

"In other words, a single tree cannot make a forest. Regardless of who the mastermind is, we must first figure out what connects them together."

"Perhaps this person is the real mastermind!"

"Because only he can connect everything, and no matter how many monsters and demons emerge in the end, we will not suspect him."

Stark's analysis was the same as Bruce's; as soon as he finished speaking, Batman followed up with a name:
"Loki."

Upon hearing this, everyone present changed their expressions, especially Thor, who inexplicably felt a surge of anger. However, he quickly suppressed this anger and questioned in a low voice:

"You mean Loki is the mastermind?"

“I admit that my brother likes to play pranks, but he doesn’t have the ability to plan such a large-scale war and cause so many massacres!”

Batman narrowed his eyes upon hearing this, staring at Thor with disapproval. In fact, he had already anticipated Thor's attitude from the moment he began to doubt Loki, and retorted bluntly in a cold voice:

"Do you not believe he lacks the ability, or do you not believe he's that ruthless?"

Upon hearing this, Thor immediately stepped forward, his eyes silently conveying a warning:
"I must remind you, Batboy, Loki is my brother, from Asgard!"

Seeing that things were not going well, Natasha immediately interrupted the tense standoff, saying, "The person in charge of the Tesseract project at S.H.I.E.L.D. was killed, and he did it himself."

Thor paused for a moment: "He was adopted."

Iron Man took in the whole scene and sighed deeply. It seemed that Loki's matter needed to be reconsidered.
