Chapter 756, Section 2.8, Chapter 6: The Silver Court
The academy courtyard at night is even more secluded and quiet than during the day, with lush greenery surrounding the fountain, which is now fast asleep.
The stone-haired angel gazed devoutly at the black moon in the sky, its lips slightly parted, one hand raised high and the other gently touching its chest, as if reciting some timeless poem.
Water droplets lightly leap from its fingertips, playfully splashing into the water as if in amusement, bringing a unique lullaby to the quiet courtyard.
Mu Yin walked around the fountain once, but found nothing strange, and then very consciously chose to give up.
Anyway, he's not the kind of person who can find clues. Even if he did find them, he wouldn't be able to figure them out. It's better to wait and meet up with Cang Shi so she can think about it.
Because the academy is quite large, it would be too time-consuming for the two of them to search together. Bertias also said that the two of them must find it within 25 minutes, so they had no choice but to split up.
In short, Mu Yin planned to take a leisurely stroll, then describe all the sights he saw to Cang Shi, and finally let her make a judgment.
Lost in thought, Mu Yin's gaze suddenly fell upon a black butterfly with transparent wings perched on one of the flowers. He paused for a moment, then subconsciously walked over.
The black butterfly flapped its wings and flew away the moment Mu Yin approached, heading towards a hidden path.
That little path...
It didn't seem to be there just now.
If he remembered correctly, the hedge had clearly enclosed this area just now, so why is it separated now?
Mu Yin followed the black butterfly into the hidden path. The moment he stepped in, he seemed to hear a sound. He turned around slightly and found that the original entrance was no longer there.
He didn't know how long he had followed Black Butterfly, only that just as he was about to lose his patience, his previously narrow vision suddenly opened up.
Under the dark moon, the lily field swayed gently in the night breeze, releasing a faint fragrance. The petals were pure white, and in the darkness without any lights, the flowers emitted a faint glow, one by one, thousands upon thousands, illuminating the entire lily field.
At that moment, he felt as if he had entered a dreamland.
Mu Yin walked into the lily field, his footsteps sinking into the soft soil. His shoes brushed against the flower stems, and the white lilies seemed to dance excitedly.
Black butterflies fluttered in front of Mu Yin, their specks of dark phosphorescent powder refracting into colorful stars under the light of the lilies.
"What's ahead?" Mu Yin murmured, continuing to follow the black butterfly forward without stopping.
Until... the black butterfly stopped.
It was a lily that stood out from its surroundings, the only black amidst its pure white, like the black moon hanging high in the sky, serene and mysterious, aloof and proud, yet also... utterly lonely.
Mu Yin recalled the girl who appeared in his dream. She stood alone in the dark, endless space. Even with the stars and moon as her companions, she was still all alone and so lonely.
-
That's a star.
That was the moon.
That was the only light in the boundless darkness.
The Milky Way transformed into a ribbon.
The moon falls as a crown.
The water mirror meanders like a carpet.
……
-
The feeling of weightlessness during the fall jolted Mu Yin awake, preventing him from falling to the ground in a tragic way.
When he came to his senses again, he found himself still standing in front of the familiar Angel Fountain. The beautiful white lily field seemed to have vanished as if it were just a dream, and only the unique black lily in his hand proved that this memory existed.
Did he pick it himself...? Behind his transparent lenses, his dark golden eyes gazed quietly at the beautiful black lily. As if possessed, he lowered his head and gently inhaled its delicate fragrance.
The black lily transformed into specks of light that traveled along his fingers to his arm, over his shoulder, and down to his lower back, where it became a sword and its sheath, coexisting with him.
Mu Yin reached behind his waist and grasped the hilt of the sword, then pulled it out with a gentle tug.
This is a short sword, winding and curving like a snake with an eerie arc. The silver blade has a golden groove in the middle and a tiny, barely noticeable black slit.
The short sword was incredibly easy to wield, as if it had been made for him.
"Mu Yin!" Hearing someone call his name from behind, Mu Yin turned around and looked at the person, casually sheathing his short sword.
"Bell told me that the connection between this phenomenon and the world of the strange phenomena has disappeared, and that I should be able to leave in about five minutes."
"However, although many things were moved along the way, I still couldn't find anything in common. Could it be that I accidentally destroyed something?" Cang Shi said in confusion.
"How did you find it?" Mu Yin asked.
“Of course…” Cang Shichao and Mu Yin grinned, “Of course, it’s about smashing everything you touch.”
Mu Yin: "..." In some ways, he was much worse than him. At least he only looked, but Cang Shi didn't let a single one of them go.
The surrounding space began to distort. Even though Mu Yin had never encountered this before, he vaguely knew that this strange phenomenon was about to disappear.
"See you at school the day after tomorrow. Don't ask why not tomorrow; I have an interview tomorrow. Goodbye!" Cang Shi waved goodbye to Mu Yin.
The strange space disappeared, and the surrounding space returned to calm. Mu Yin was back on the street full of streetlights.
Before he could take two steps forward, he saw a black sedan parked in front of him. The window slowly rolled down, revealing a handsome and flawless face.
Her amethyst-like, mysterious, and deep eyes calmly looked at Mu Yin as she slowly said, "Young Master, even if you're usually forgetful, you should at least remember your family's license plate number. Are you planning to walk five hours home?"
The young butler wore an exquisitely tailored tailcoat with his shirt buttoned all the way up. Even just sitting in the driver's seat, he looked like a musician preparing to play at a piano in a concert hall—elegant, sexy, and exuding an air of asceticism.
Wearing white gloves, long, slender index fingers tapped rhythmically on the black steering wheel. His narrow, amethyst-like eyes were fixed on Mu Yin, who was sitting in the back seat in the rearview mirror. His gaze was calm and deep, seemingly scrutinizing and probing, but he casually withdrew his gaze a second before Mu Yin returned the look.
"Ifa, drive carefully. I don't want to crash and kill anyone," Mu Yin reminded him.
"Yes, young master." Ifa replied politely, then started the car.
The black sedan sped away amidst exhaust fumes.
A pale-faced boy slowly emerged from the shadows. He watched the car gradually disappear into the distance and sighed softly, "Since you personally opened the back door, there's nothing I can do about it."
"Lan Xiao, even if Bertias is your sweetheart, you don't have to let him get the upper hand every time. Although he doesn't have multiple lives like you, it should be easy to seriously injure him without killing him..."
"Take care of him first."
