Chapter 753, Section 2.8, Chapter 3: The Silver Court
Mu Yin was surrounded by the children, her delicate and beautiful face full of annoyance.
He instinctively put his hand on his lower back but found nothing.
Just as Mu Yin was stunned, a cold light flashed, and in the blink of an eye, all the children surrounding him were cut down and disappeared into black mist in less than a second.
He raised his dark golden eyes slightly and looked at the young man standing not far away, carrying a long sword.
That incredibly familiar long, straight blue-gray hair and the androgynous, exquisite face—it was undoubtedly Bertias.
However, at this moment he had a cold face and his brows were furrowed. "Didn't I tell you to go home early and not wander around?"
"So?" Mu Yin lifted his eyelids slightly and asked casually, even though he had just encountered danger half a minute ago.
Bertias frowned slightly as he looked at Mu Yin's nonchalant attitude.
Before Bertias could speak, Mu Yin impatiently interrupted his thoughts, saying, "Never mind that for now, can you tell me where this is?"
Bertias took a deep breath and said, "Let's find the exit first. Follow me, I'll tell you as we walk."
Mu Yin followed, watching Bertias walk towards the circus in the distance.
"This is the Strange Phenomenon. A bizarre and absurd yet ubiquitous and intertwined space that is closely related to life. Simply put, this is the other side or the dark side of the world we live in."
Suddenly, Bertias stopped in his tracks, his arms outstretched as if embracing something, and he turned to look at Mu Yin.
Welcome to another world.
His beautiful blue-gray eyes were clear and bright, with an almost imperceptible fervor in them. The corners of his mouth were slightly upturned, and a crescent moon appeared faintly in his right eye as he became excited.
A black butterfly flew into the sky from the flower bushes not far away, scattering specks of phosphorescent powder that shimmered with black light.
Mu Yin glanced at Bertias, unaffected by his emotions, and calmly asked, "Where's the exit?"
Bertias reluctantly lowered his hand, turned around to face him, the crescent moon disappearing from his left eye. He raised his blue-gray eyes and said, "You still can't take a joke."
"You really have a lot of confidence to joke around in this environment," Mu Yin said, glancing around at the surroundings.
"Don't worry, this strange phenomenon hasn't hatched yet. It's even more immature than a newborn baby and has no harmful effects whatsoever."
He lowered his eyes and murmured, "However... things might change in a while..."
'Ring ring ring ring'
The sudden sound of an alarm clock shattered the peace.
Mu Yin suddenly opened his eyes, subconsciously sat up, and turned off the alarm. His dark golden eyes scanned his surroundings, and he breathed a sigh of relief when he realized he was in his bedroom.
He covered his face with his hands, buried himself in the blankets, and mumbled, "Please spare me..."
A gentle knock was heard on the door.
"Young master, are you up yet? You'll be late for school."
Mu Yin replied irritably, "I know."
He threw off the covers and got out of bed barefoot onto the soft carpet. He drew back the curtains, and the bright sunlight, now unobstructed, streamed through the glass window and shone on Mu Yin, illuminating the previously dim bedroom.
The garden outside the window was as lush and green as ever, and the fountain's spray splashed in the air, reflecting golden light.
Mu Yin watched for a while, then turned and walked towards the bathroom.
The splashing water drowned out all other sounds.
The water droplets from the showerhead splashed onto his fair skin. His dark golden eyes were fixed on the flowing water as he pondered the events of the previous night.
Was it a dream or reality?
Strange phenomenon...
A slender, pale fingertip pressed the switch, and the sound of water gradually disappeared.
Picking up a towel to wipe the water droplets off his body, Mu Yin looked at himself in the mirror, then turned to look at the pure white Immaculate Flower in the vase beside him.
"Black looks better," he murmured as he put on his school uniform.
The bathroom door closed softly with a 'click'.
The immaculate flower, swaying slightly in the breeze, nodded gently, its heart faintly stained with a touch of black.
restaurant.
"Slow as an ox. Didn't you say you were going to take me to the Strange Phenomenon Society today?" Bertias muttered to herself as she ate a slice of bread and looked at the tardy Mu Yin. Mu Yin pulled out a chair and sat down. "That's no excuse for you to stay overnight at my house."
He picked up a slice of bread and took a bite. As always, it was tasteless and really awful.
The butler chimed in, "This is the first time the young master has brought a friend home."
"Don't say things like that. It makes it sound like I have no friends," Mu Yin snorted.
"You talk like you have friends. Didn't you sleep all the time at school?" Bertias finished the last bite of bread, slowly stood up, and pointed to the time on the wall clock.
"Fifteen minutes left."
The harsh, scraping sound of the chair rubbing against the floor.
Mu Yin stood up, stuffed all the bread into his mouth, and swallowed it.
"Let's go."
He took the lead and walked ahead, asking as he went, "Is that place permanent?"
"Which one?" Bertias asked, puzzled.
"Strange phenomenon."
"No, they are not fixed. And..."
Mu Yin stopped in his tracks. "And what?"
“Let’s go talk to the Strange Phenomena Society,” Beltias said.
"I never said I wanted to join your Strange Phenomenon Society. I just wanted to understand this new world. I was in the same world yesterday, and in the blink of an eye, I'm in another world. Aren't strange phenomena a nightmare?" Mu Yin said softly, his dark golden eyes hidden behind his glasses.
"Do you think it's a nightmare?" Bertias asked.
A crescent moon gradually appeared in his blue-gray eyes.
With his back to Bertias, Mu Yin pondered, "I guess... I guess so..."
"Anyway, I'm not really sure. If it were a nightmare, I should have woken up by now, right? But I'm still here, still living here. So... I want an answer..."
"Answer?"
"Yes, the answer. I want to know the truth."
"Even if it completely destroys all your previous understanding?" His blue-gray eyes were deep and dangerous, and the crescent moon in his right eye reflected Mu Yin's entire body.
Even if it completely destroys all my previous understanding.
Mu Yin wanted to turn around to look at Bertias, but in the next second he seemed to realize something and subconsciously dodged to the side.
A gunshot rang out, hitting Bertias in the shoulder.
Bertias clutched his injured shoulder, and the crescent moon in his right eye disappeared.
He glanced at the injured Bertias, then looked at the newcomer.
The silver muzzle emitted wisps of gunpowder smoke.
His long, blue-gray hair was gently lifted by the breeze as the boy coldly looked at the person who looked exactly like him, holding a pistol.
'boom'
'boom'
'boom'
Several more shots were fired.
"I heard that someone was impersonating me, but I didn't expect that someone would actually believe me."
His blue-gray eyes held only indifference and ambiguity as he looked down at the other 'him' who had vanished from the spot, a mocking smile playing on his lips.
"What a show." Bertias chuckled as she looked at Mu Yin, her tone gentle, though the smile never reached her eyes.
Do I look like such a kind and honest person to you?
Was this turn of events a surprise?
