I'll also work hard to conquer the dungeon today.

Chapter 729, Section 27-16: La Soméshmiri Ruins: Treasure

Chapter 729, Section 2.7-16: La Soméshmiri Ruins: Treasure

The night sky was filled with twinkling stars, and the streets under the moon were bustling with people.

"I originally thought the ruins battlefield would be a desert, but I didn't expect it to be a bustling market." Shui Qi said in a low voice as her narrow blue eyes slowly swept over the people passing by.

Whether they are all truly human remains unknown.

Daolin took out the gold pocket watch from his white coat, glanced at it, and then put it back.

“Keep going,” he said.

He had only stayed for less than a minute, yet he felt the ill-intentioned stares of everyone.

The three pretended to stroll through the market while observing their surroundings.

Shui Qi was looking thoughtfully at the stalls where people were buying and selling when she accidentally bumped into someone passing by.

"Excuse me," Shui Qi said, but the person he bumped into didn't react like a normal person. He just kept walking forward, as if he didn't notice anything at all, rather than being indifferent.

Isn't it human? Or does it lack even the most basic consciousness and life... just a corpse?
Shui Qi stopped and glanced back at the person before striding after him.

"What did you find?" Shui Qi asked.

Dao Lin said slowly, "There's nothing strange about it. Neither the food stalls nor the customers seem to be acting strangely. The food smells very good, so it doesn't seem fake."

"In that case, let's buy one and try it," Shui Qi said softly, looking at the candied apple stall next to her.

"Do you have Relic Coins?" Daolin asked.

Shui Qi toyed with the coin in his hand and said casually, "I just stole one."

"No wonder, I was wondering why you would bump into people while walking for no reason. But you're really good at it." Dao Lin understood. Shui Qi's hand speed was really fast. It felt like he had done this many times before.

"To survive in this environment, you always need some other skills," Shui Qi said meaningfully.

Those icy blue eyes glanced at Shui Qi, and Dao Lin reminded her, "I hope you won't use this skill on your own people."

"How could that be? I wouldn't do such a thing for no reason." Shui Qi chuckled lightly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing, speaking ambiguously as usual.

Dao Lin watched Shui Qi walk towards the candied apple stall and muttered, "This is really unbelievable."

Mu Yegui, who had been out of sorts, finally spoke slowly, "Does Daolin not trust Shui Qi?"

“I would believe him if he had no criminal record, but once he has a history of betrayal, his credibility drops by half. Every time he betrays someone, his credibility drops by half again…” His icy blue eyes held a hint of complexity as he quietly gazed at the tall, straight back.

"But that's how machines calculate. Betrayal might lower credibility, but when someone decides to believe, credibility returns to 100. No one has ever said that credibility only decreases and never increases. When you hesitate, it has already risen; otherwise, you should have firmly rejected it."

"Does Ye Gui trust Shui Qi?" Dao Lin asked.

"Why shouldn't I believe him? No matter what he does, he can't beat me. Whether it's betrayal or cooperation, it won't affect me at all. So I believe him, just as I believe in myself."

In the past, Mu Yegui might have asked what the meaning of the word "believe" was. In fact, even now she still cannot understand why this word is so important to humans, but none of this prevents her from saying this.

Lilia had told her that being confident in one's ability to do something is equivalent to believing in oneself. And believing in oneself is also equivalent to believing in others, because one's own strength is not affected by any factors. Therefore, the word "belief" can be equated with anything.

The two remained silent, but the atmosphere around them was not affected; it was as lively and joyful as ever, with everyone enjoying the holiday.

Shui Qi held a candied apple, pointed to the bench opposite, and said, "Go sit over there and cut it open to see."

The two sat on either side of Mu Yegui, bending slightly and looking down at the candied apple in her hand.

Mu Yegui drew a short sword from his waist. The cold, serpentine short sword emitted an inorganic light under the lamplight, and a golden vertical pupil slowly opened in the middle of the blade, seemingly watching the surroundings.

"Every time I see this short sword, it makes me lose my senses. Not looking at it only slows down the decline." Shui Qi tried her best to keep her eyes fixed on the candy apple, not glancing at the short sword even once. The short sword lightly grazed the candy coating; it was just a light touch, yet it had already cut through it to the very bottom.

The inside of a sugar apple is exactly the same as that of a normal food; there is no difference whatsoever.

"As expected, it's not so easy to spot." Dao Lin sighed softly. Although wasting food is not good, it's better not to touch it in this situation, since no one can be sure what the consequences will be after eating it.

Just then, the crowd suddenly surged toward the same spot.

Shui Qi and Dao Lin exchanged a glance and followed without saying a word. Mu Ye Gui watched as they took only one step in the opposite direction before Dao Lin pulled them away.

From afar, you can see a huge open-air stage, brightly lit and being prepared for the upcoming performance.

The stage is shaped like a large inverted U, with the audience seats located in the middle of the inverted U.

The three of them found seats and sat down, waiting with the others for the performance to begin.

As the sound faded, the stage lights gradually went out.

"Long, long ago, in the glorious age of the gods, there was a great king. He was brave and powerful, leading his people to conquer one country after another, and establishing a great and glorious dynasty."

As the female voice narrating the scene began, a beam of white light appeared in the center of the stage, illuminating the elegantly dressed woman.

The woman slightly raised her head, revealing her beautiful and sweet face, which was exactly the same as that of the tour guide, Millie.

She slightly raised her hand, and the gold ring on her arm shimmered brilliantly under the light.

"The people lived in peace and prosperity under his rule, leading happy and fulfilling lives."

"However, one day... an outsider broke in."

Two beams of light shone on the stage again, one at each end of the stage.

The soldier pointed his sword at the intruders, 'Who are you?!'

"I have come for the King, to present to the Supreme King the crown that only he is entitled to," said the white-haired man at the head, holding up the golden crown.

'This is a golden crown bestowed by the sun god; the crimson gems are the congealed blood of the enemies slain by the king, a testament to his valiant and powerful deeds. My king, this crown is offered to you by your faithful. The sun shines upon the earth in an attempt to obscure your light; the moon's fickleness seeks your favor; every shining star is a medal for your great achievements. Your glory and praise will forever flow across this land.'

"The king received the visitor and accepted the beautiful yet sinful crown. The visitor claimed to be the son of the God of Light, the God of Light's messenger on earth, and also there to assist the king."

"My king, deceived by despicable men, he remains valiant and powerful, yet has also become tyrannical and cruel. God has deceived the king, attempting to bury him with filth, and the king has fallen into a deep slumber."

"My king, open your eyes and look upon your people! They yearn for you to take your sword and go to war once more!"

The woman coldly looked at the audience, then suddenly pointed at Dao Lin.

"That despicable scoundrel still sits here shamelessly! It's time for the people to offer sacrifices to the sleeping king."

"Our king is about to awaken."

The eye of Mu Yegui's short sword is a 'pollutant' that causes sanity to drop when stared at; it's a hidden setting, and this eye has appeared many times before.

Wang's praise was spot on; only the world where Lanlos was criticized was achieved.

Lanlos: No, Mu Yegui and the others were also scolded.

Daolin: Who is it that we are being criticized for?
Lanlos: Thank you for Wang Chui's fabrication of history, I don't believe it.
