Chapter 718, Section 27-5: La Soméshmiri Ruins: Treasure
Chapter 718, Section 2.7-5: La Soméshmiri Ruins: Treasure
After handing over the copied content to Miss Millie, their second check-in task was marked as complete.
However, the task bar shows 'Follow Millie to complete eight scenic spot check-ins (1/8)'.
When Dao Lin saw this, he was suddenly stunned. After carefully recalling the first checkpoint, he said to Mu Yegui, "The mission shows that there are eight scenic spots to check in, so why is the first checkpoint that Millie led us to a treasure hunt?"
And that line... 'You can listen to Millie, but never believe her.'
No matter how he thought about it, Daolin felt there was something wrong with the first checkpoint. Perhaps the location was correct, but the event was definitely not a treasure hunt. Miss Millie had deceived them.
However, these are all just his guesses, and further investigation is needed to determine the specifics.
Mu Yegui looked up at Miss Millie, whose smile was sweet but whose gaze never left them, and said softly, "Miss Millie is monitoring us. Let's talk about it during our free time."
"Someone has been watching us since just now..." Before he could finish speaking, he felt a cold finger touch his lips.
With a light touch of her fingertips to her soft, thin lips, Mu Yegui narrowed her cool, silver eyes slightly. The next second, a faint smile curved her lips, and she asked cryptically, "Who exactly is it?"
Before Daolin could reply, a commotion and the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground came from behind them.
"Aaaaaaah!" A scream filled with panic followed.
While maintaining order, Miss Millie said, "Don't panic, it's just a small accident. I've already notified the city management to handle this. Please step back and don't get close to the deceased."
Mu Yegui glanced sideways at the bloody, mangled area, then looked up at the mountain beside him. His initial assessment was that it was a mountaineering accident—either a fall due to a misstep while climbing, or a fall from the summit for some reason. Regardless, it fell from a height.
“Miss Millie just took something from the corpse’s pocket. I wouldn’t have noticed it if it hadn’t flashed in the sunlight,” Dawson whispered.
Due to an unexpected incident, everyone was forced into free time, the end time of which will be announced separately by Miss Millie.
"If I didn't know clearly that this was the territory of the Kingdom of Sin, I would have thought that I had entered a copy of the Kingdom of Truth to investigate a murder case or something."
Forced to begin with only time to participate and no preparations made, the two could only wander aimlessly through the streets of the black market.
Mu Yegui glanced around and suddenly stopped in front of a stall.
She squatted on the ground, looking at a small, square box placed on the ground waiting for the seller, a hint of doubt flashing across her face.
"What's wrong?" Dao Lin noticed that Mu Yegui was not leaving and looked in the direction of her gaze, where he also saw the strange box.
The box is a white cube, with each corner decorated in gold, and a very abstract pattern painted on top.
No matter how you look at it, this cube-shaped box has no way of opening; it's so airtight that it seems to be a solid cube rather than a box.
But the stall owner told them it was a box, a treasure box that could be opened, and also one of Baturan's specialties.
"Specialty products? So you mean you can get them anywhere else besides here?" Dao Lin asked with a smile, his icy blue eyes fixed on the stall owner.
"Treasure boxes drop in the ruins battlefield in the southern district. Besides this color, there are six other different types of treasure boxes, and each one contains different items. However... I heard that some strange creatures have appeared there recently. You'd better be alive to come back alive if you go there," the stall owner whispered to the two of them.
"A strange creature? Have you seen it before, boss?" Mu Yegui asked.
"How could that be? I only heard about it. After it was discovered, His Highness the Lord ordered the ruins and battlefield sealed off, forbidding anyone from approaching, with consequences for their own actions. Even so, quite a few people who were willing to risk their lives for money still sneaked in. But none of them came back alive." "When the ruins are shrouded in thick fog, that's when the battlefield opens." A complex look flashed in his icy blue eyes, but after he raised his head, his confident and handsome smile returned.
He asked again, "Is this what the boss said?"
The stall owner didn't answer Dao Lin, but just shivered and lowered his head, refusing to speak again no matter how many times others asked.
On the other side, within the ruins battlefield shrouded in thick fog.
Only a huge full moon hung high in the pitch-black night sky, lonely and desolate, with no stars twinkling in the sky.
The barren desert turned silvery white under the moonlight, with withered trees and vines drooping, making everything appear extremely desolate.
A gentle breeze blew by, and the silvery sand on the ground rustled as footsteps approached.
The white outer robe seemed to radiate a silvery light under the moonlight, and the red plum blossoms on the hem looked like drops of blood, vivid and glaring.
The boy walked through the desert, a gentle breeze lifting the sleeves of his half-draped robe to reveal his fair, jade-like arms and shoulders.
The white, sleeveless robe with a stand-up collar is adorned with solitary red plum blossoms, which shine even more brightly under the moonlight.
His fiery red, tousled hair was tied into a small bun at the back of his head, adding to his youthful arrogance and unruliness.
The boy's handsome face was marred by a mysterious black totem at the corner of his left eye, but it added a touch of ghostly evil to it.
Those fair, elfin-like pointed ears were adorned with a red diamond stud earring, which faintly emitted a soft glow.
His dark red eyes scanned the surrounding scenery, and he gradually stopped, standing there.
Over time, the surrounding buildings were gradually buried by sand, leaving only some broken remnants that testify to their former existence.
There may have once been a glorious civilization, or a prosperous empire, but it was destroyed by a great disaster, and now only a desolate and ruined landscape remains, forgotten by all.
On the desolate wasteland, deformed and strange creatures roam the world, vying for the chance to survive.
"The Book of La Sommeshmya: On that day, the stars fell, the earth was briefly shrouded in a white light, and from then on, darkness descended, and the sky was devoid of stars."
This devastated, ruined world foreshadows the tragic end of a once-great civilization.
Zhu Yan slayed the strange, non-human-looking creatures that tried to approach him, muttering to himself, "Where did these strange creatures come from...? The infection level in this space has exceeded the limit; we need to deal with the source quickly."
To explain, the Ruins section consists of two routes, corresponding to the Isaac King route and the Skatech Shadow Country route from the previous Flower Crown section.
These are the storylines that Mu Yegui and Shui Qi follow, respectively.
The ruins and battlefield where Zhu Yan is located represent the aftermath of the war between Hua Guan Li and Queen Skatech of the Underworld Shadow Kingdom.
The infection value that Zhu Yan mentioned corresponds to the plague disease that came from the underworld, and also corresponds to the storyline in the Flower Crown instance where the people suddenly become weak and die.
This dungeon is actually a death trap everywhere.
