Chapter 690, Sections 2.5-30: The House of Silk and the Dollhouse (Dream)

"Tch, didn't you say you'd be back soon!" Xin Bai sat cross-legged on the ground, propping his chin up with one hand and wagging his tail impatiently. His sandy-gold vertical pupils scanned his surroundings, but he still couldn't see anyone.

Half an hour ago, they were attacked by the Spider Queen. At Ling Tong's suggestion, the three of them split up to lure the Spider Queen away before returning. Unfortunately, he ended up being left behind to wait for them to come back.

But half an hour has passed since they left, and there's still no sign of them returning. So where did they go?!
"Ughhhhh, this is so annoying!!!" He lay back on the ground, counting stars out of boredom. The more he counted, the more irritated he became. Finally, he couldn't help but glance at the door in front of him.

He subconsciously licked his non-existent paw, his furry ears twitching slightly. "I'll just take a quick glance, it should be fine, right..."

Xin Bai is a typical action-oriented person; if she has an idea, she will do it immediately and will never leave it for the next day. So, after thinking about it, she quickly got up and walked in without hesitation, her cat-like steps making her way inside.

behind the door.

It was a sunny afternoon with bright sunshine.

After Xin Bai entered the gate, he found himself in the garden of a huge manor, which was clearly the same one that was formerly known as Gengyas Manor and later as Secret Manor.

Only gardeners and shrubbers were working in the garden; there was no one else around.

Suddenly his ears twitched slightly; a faint sound came from afar.

Xin Bai quickly ran to the vicinity of the gate and hid in the nearest bushes, secretly observing.

Standing outside the iron gate was a young man carrying a suitcase. He was wearing an exquisitely tailored black tuxedo, with the shirt buttoned up to the top. Even so, it couldn't hide the sexiness and elegance that emanated from his very being.

"Who is it?" A slightly serious voice came from the loudspeaker at the iron gate.

He put down his suitcase, slightly raised his white-gloved hand, and performed an elegant bow. "I am Ifa, a graduate from the Deacon Academy of the Mysterious Kingdom, assigned to the Gengas Manor for an internship. Please take care of me."

His platinum blonde hair swayed gently with his movements, and a faint smile graced his handsome face. The slight curve of his lips seemed to be measured with a ruler and compass to be the most perfect angle, giving people a warm and approachable feeling like the rising sun, but with a hint of coldness.

Although his posture was elegant and textbook perfect, his deep, narrow eyes, like amethyst crystals, revealed a hint of nonchalance, making it difficult to guess his true thoughts.

This person is dangerous.

Xin Bai was willing to bet his tiger-like nature that this guy was definitely a super dangerous character and not as simple as he appeared on the surface.

"An intern? I haven't heard of anyone coming. Oh well, since you're here, come on in." With that, the iron door slowly opened.

"Thank you," Ifa said softly, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he walked in carrying his suitcase.

As Ifa approached, the distance to the bushes where Xinbai was located gradually decreased. Xinbai should have left before being discovered, but its legs felt as heavy as lead, unable to move an inch. The sense of danger grew stronger, its tail straightened more and more, and finally, Xinbai's fur stood on end, as expected. Just two meters away, a sudden sound stopped Ifa from getting any closer.

"The door is on the other side; you've gone the wrong way." The aloof young man looked coldly at the unfamiliar young butler, pointed in the opposite direction, and spoke slowly.

Ifa stopped in his tracks, turned to look at the boy, and gave him an elegant bow with a light smile.

"Greetings, Young Master Geng Yasi."

Joan pursed his thin lips, staring intently at Ifa, a hint of doubt and complexity in his eyes. After a long while, he finally spoke, "Unbelievable guest, what is your purpose in coming here? I'm sure it's not that bullshit internship excuse you're giving me."

“Young master, nobles are not allowed to use foul language,” Ifa said softly, maintaining her elegant and proper demeanor.

Joan scoffed at Ifa's pretentious act, saying, "Excuse me, I am just a boorish nobleman and the owner of this manor. What I say goes. If you disagree, keep it to yourself. If you can't hold it in, then go back to where you came from."

The young butler lowered his eyes, chuckled softly, and said in a low voice, "Young Master, I have come for you."

Joan frowned slightly, looked at Ifa suspiciously, and said, "Don't come up with excuses that involve the person in question. It sounds fake. What value do you have for an orphan like me?"

“Young man, I have come to fulfill your wish,” Ifa added in a low voice.

Beneath his platinum-gold, tousled hair, his long, narrow eyes, as deep and mysterious as amethyst, were cold and sharp, yet the next second, a gentle facade appeared in his light laughter.

As expected, after hearing Ifa's words, Joan's face darkened and she said coldly, "Don't talk nonsense."

Ifa chuckled as he looked at Joan, a perfect smile playing on his lips, as if measured with a ruler. He slightly raised his left hand, revealing a sapphire ring on his index finger. Then he slowly said, "Whether I'm deceiving you or not, you can judge for yourself, can't you? If you say you don't need me, then I can leave immediately. But you should know that no one but me can help you achieve your dreams."

"Anyone can talk big, but whether it's true or not is another matter entirely. If you can convince me, then I'll believe you for now," Joan said with a cold snort.

"The reason..." His long, narrow eyes, as deep and mysterious as amethyst, held a hint of nonchalance, but a smile appeared the moment he looked up. He said softly, "I come from the Unbelievable. Isn't that reason enough?"

The Kingdom of Mystery is called Mystery because it contains many inexplicable, incredible, and miraculous things.

According to the legends of this world, the Mysterious Kingdom and the Fairy Tale Kingdom were originally one entity. Later, certain events led to their separation into two distinct regions, with the differences between them becoming increasingly pronounced. The most widely circulated theory is that the Mysterious Kingdom is a nation dominated by faith, and its people, believing in a so-called deity, were granted incredible powers. In contrast, the Fairy Tale Kingdom was ruled by a monarchy, and its people abandoned their faith, ultimately losing their magical powers.

Regardless of the interpretation, the relationship between the Fairy Tale Kingdom and the Wonderland is the worst among all the kingdoms. However, the saying "the enemy knows you best" also applies to the relationship between the two kingdoms.

Thinking of this, Joan nodded and said to Ifa, "Then you can stay by my side."
