Chapter 645, pages 2.3-28: Guess Who I Am

'Ding'

At the critical moment, Mu Yegui rushed in front of Zhu Yan and blocked his scythe attack aimed at Ming Jin without hesitation.

The instant Mu Yegui blocked the attack for him, Ming Jin bent down without hesitation, scooped up the arm from the ground, and then quickly retreated to widen the distance between them.

The entire exchange lasted less than three seconds.

With bloodshot eyes fixed on Mu Yegui, just as Zhu Yan was about to go berserk, he heard Agatha, who was standing behind him, clap her hands.

For a moment, Zhu Yan was slightly taken aback, but then his expression returned to normal.

Seeing that Zhu Yan had no intention of attacking again, Mu Yegui also stopped.

Zhu Yan raised his eyes and stared intently at Ming Xi, who was trying to pull the ring off his finger with the arm he was holding. His expression was calm, and for a moment, it was impossible to tell whether he was happy or angry.

"Could you please be kind to my arm?" Zhu Yan asked calmly.

Mingxi frowned, turned to look at Mingjin, and shouted, "Mingjin! This ring can't be taken off!"

Ming Jin lifted her eyelids and said bluntly, "Then cut off your finger."

Zhu Yan: "!!!"

Lan rushed to Zhu Yan's side in a panic, stopping his bleeding while wailing as if she were the one who was injured.

Zhu Yan frowned deeply, but did not push Lan away, letting her stop the bleeding.

"I said..." Zhu Yan stopped speaking again when he heard Ming Xi's words.

"Then I'll cut it. Ling Tong, I'll borrow your sword for a little longer." Mingxi hesitated for a moment, then said helplessly.

Zhu Yan: "..." Can't we really kill them?

"If you only want the gemstone, then just break the ring; it'll be easier that way," Ling Tong said softly as she walked to their side.

"No, no, no, I think cutting it off once and for all is the solution. Anyway, it can be reattached, so it won't make a difference how much time it takes," Mingxi shook her head stubbornly.

Mu Yegui glanced at Zhu Yan, whose complexion was getting worse, and said to the others, "Haven't you considered lubrication?"

The three of them: "..." Forgot.

So in the end, the ring that Zhu Yan obtained was still made with lubricant, and the finger was not cut off.

Ming Jin glanced regretfully at the arm in her hand, seemingly still unable to forget the thought of cutting off that finger.

"Can you please stop looking? There's no way it can be cut off! Absolutely not!"

Zhu Yan handed his arm to Lan, and then saw Lan take Zhu Yan's arm and sew it back up with needle and thread. After she finished sewing, she immediately pulled out the thread, and the arm was completely healed, without even a trace of a wound, as if it had never been injured at all.

After everyone obtained the real gem, the dungeon was officially declared over.

The remaining players seemed to breathe a sigh of relief; at least their lives were guaranteed after leaving the instance. The kingdom's inhabitants wouldn't kill people randomly outside the instance, unless they were bloodthirsty; otherwise, they were safe.

"I thought we'd have some fun, but it ended so quickly. These people have no sportsmanship; several of them attacked at once." Zhu Yan pursed his lips, put his hands behind his head, and walked behind Agatha with a bored expression, seemingly preparing to go back.

"Practice some more," Agatha said with a gentle smile to Zhu Yan.

Zhu Yan snorted coldly and said no more.

Seeing that Zhu Yan and the others were about to leave, Mingxi turned around and said to the others, "Let's disperse. The dungeon is over, there's no need to stay together any longer..."

Suddenly, he stopped abruptly halfway through his sentence. His expression, usually calm, was now tinged with fear. "Run!" he shouted, his voice trembling slightly.

A loud bang came from behind, and then everyone felt a terrifying residual force spread out. The surviving ordinary players instantly turned into blood mist and disappeared.

Ming Jinming spat out a mouthful of blood and staggered down, only to be caught by Mu Yegui.

Mu Yegui caught the two falling bodies with one arm each, his cold silver eyes looking into the distance.

Ling Tong turned around and looked back as well.

Zhu Yan, wielding a long-handled scythe, blocked a small, black-haired boy. The boy seemed to be struggling, but was unharmed. Behind him was a transparent wall emitting a faint red glow, presumably for defense; at least the apostle behind the wall remained completely unharmed.

This shows that Zhu Yan had been somewhat accommodating to them before, and hadn't taken them seriously. It's also impossible for him to protect his own people while simultaneously blocking this terrible attack.

"Hmm? I didn't expect to see something so good on my rare outing. I'm really lucky." His cold, crimson vertical pupils showed a hint of surprise. He pinched the blade of Zhu Yan's scythe between two fingers, his effortless posture almost intimidating.

His dark, tousled hair fell casually behind his head, swaying gently in the breeze. The pair of slightly long black horns on his head were very eye-catching, clearly telling everyone that he was not human.

Her appearance was delicate yet slightly immature. Even though she was shorter than Zhu Yan, her aura was terrifyingly powerful. Almost the instant she was met by those crimson vertical pupils, she completely lost the will to resist.

Although he looks young, his tone is unusually mature or even world-weary, giving him the feel of an old man.

"Hmm...this feeling..." The crimson eyes observed Zhu Yan thoughtfully, as if recalling something.

Lilia released the scythe, glanced at everyone quietly, and finally fixed her gaze on Mu Yegui, her eyes deep and unfathomable.

"I sensed the aura of that little ruthless one, so I came to investigate out of curiosity, and unexpectedly, I saw some interesting things." He chuckled softly, his eyes filled with coldness and a deeply hidden nostalgia.

Mingxi turned her head and saw Lilia. Her brows furrowed, and she whispered something to the others.

While Mingxi was speaking to her companions, Lilia fell silent.

"Who are you?" Zhu Yan asked coldly, looking at Liliya.

Lilia glanced at Zhu Yan, then took a few steps forward to face the players. She raised her eyes slightly and looked down at them, saying slowly, "My name is Lilia, and I am an apostle of the king. I hope you will live long enough to meet me in person."

After saying that, he whispered a few words to Zhu Yan, who reluctantly followed him with a frown.

After the others left, Ming Jin covered her mouth with one hand and coughed violently. Crimson blood kept seeping out from between her fingers, dripping onto the soil and staining it a dark red.

Mu Yegui smelled the blood, his mouth moved slightly, revealing his sharp little tiger teeth, and his cold silver eyes turned into vertical pupils for a moment before returning to normal.

She was silent for a few seconds, then took out a handkerchief and handed it to Ming Jin. Her fair and slender fingers gently wiped the back of his hand. Mu Yegui murmured, "I've got you."
