Chapter 613, pages 2.3-2: Guess Who I Am

“I see. Dao Lin comes from the Kingdom of Sin, so he must have experienced many such instances. Then let’s proceed according to your pace.” Ming Jin said with a slight smile, her lake-blue eyes quietly watching the serious-looking Dao Lin.

"Your expression doesn't seem to say that," Dao Lin said, glancing at Ming Jin with an ambiguous expression.

Mingjin looked down at her thumb, then smiled and said, "How could that be? I am utterly loyal to the Doctor."

His icy blue eyes darkened slightly. Dao Lin slowly closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then exhaled deeply. He used one hand to support himself against a large rock and jumped down. The white coat over his white shirt swayed gently in the air, carrying a special aura different from his usual self.

"Team Two: Beltias and Lan Xiao; Team Three: Shui Qi and Ling Tong; Team Four: Ming Xi and Chloe; Team Five: Ming Jin and Fei; and Team One is just me and Mu Yegui. The main strategy is to gather information, which can be sent directly to the group chat. Since there's a rule of eliminating ghosts, there must be an elimination mode. The first day is the easiest time to observe." A hint of ambiguity flashed in Dao Lin's icy blue eyes as he smiled and glanced at them, finally fixing his gaze on Ming Jin.

“Bell, Shui Qi, and Ming Jin are all good at analyzing other people’s information. As for why Ming Xi and Kroya are put together instead of Ling Tong and Kroya or Fei and Kroya…” Daolin paused and said meaningfully.

Shui Qi slowly walked over and said, "Because both of them are socially awkward, it would be too difficult for them to stay with the female fox, so let the outgoing Mingxi do it. Besides, Mingjin and Mingxi are twins and have a telepathic connection, so they can quickly sense when the other has finished gathering."

"That's so mean, Vice President!" Chloe pouted her red lips and said coquettishly.

"Ugh." Shui Qi covered her mouth and made a disgusted gesture, looking extremely disgusted.

Chloe: "..."

"I understand." Mingxi said coldly, then turned to Chloe and said, "I suggest you don't bother me, thank you, otherwise I won't be polite and will take action against you."

Dao Lin observed everyone's expressions without speaking further. He put Beltias and Lan Xiao, Shui Qi and Ling Tong together instead of Shui Qi and Lan Xiao, in order to prevent small groups from forming cliques.

"The rest is..." Dao Lin paused here, his icy blue eyes slightly raised as he looked at the empty sky.

“Gather intelligence,” Bertias said. “What’s not explicitly stated in the rules represents the unknown, and it also means that it’s worth trying, because it doesn’t prohibit it.”

"The rules say that ghosts can be eliminated, but they don't say that ghosts can't be killed or attacked. This means we can try it. After all, death means elimination, which means that we can continue playing even if we're injured. Of course, this can't be done without a certain level of military support, but we have a natural advantage now, and it would be a waste of talent not to take this action."

As she spoke, Shui Qi looked at Mu Yegui with a smile through her long, narrow blue eyes. The latter was whispering to Ling Tong.

Mu Yegui looked up and saw Shui Qi smiling at her, so she asked, "Do you want me to test the ghost's abilities?"

“Yes, we need to test whether we can seriously injure the ghost, whether the ghost can be killed, whether it will revive after being killed, how long the interval will be if the ghost revives after death, whether it can be attacked immediately after revival, whether its abilities are enhanced, and whether it is the same as the second death. No one but you can do this,” Shui Qi nodded and said.

“I have three guesses about the ghost. First, a clone; second, a substitute; third, the ghost itself,” Bertias said, holding up three fingers.

A clone refers to a ghost and the identity it plays simultaneously, influencing each other; a substitute means that before they guessed the ghost, the ghost they saw was just a substitute and could not affect the real ghost; the ghost itself and the identity it plays cannot coexist, and once the ghost appears, the change in identity disappears.

"Actually, there are two more," Shui Qiwei glanced at Bertias and reminded her.

This refers to the so-called "traitor," who could be a player (not necessarily an NPC), or a player impersonating another player. The former involves a player playing the traitor, the latter a traitor impersonating a player, and the three possibilities above all involve the traitor impersonating themselves, hence the five possibilities. However, the latter two can actually be combined with the first three; upon careful consideration, they don't contradict each other.

“Oh yes, that’s true.” Bertias chuckled, not denying it.

"There are 11 in total if you combine them. This seems like a lot of trouble." Mingxi stretched and turned to look into the distance, saying slowly.

"When things are unknown, you must anticipate all possible scenarios so that you won't be surprised when you encounter them and you'll have a way to deal with them," Ming Jin said, patting Ming Xi on the shoulder.

"So there's something fishy going on?" Bertias raised an eyebrow and asked in return.

"Huh? Little Bei wouldn't suspect there's a mole among us, would she?" Shui Qi teased, her narrow blue eyes coldly fixed on Bertias, the smile not reaching her eyes.

"Why do you think he deliberately broke everyone into separate teams?" Bertias glanced at Shui Qi and asked.

Ming Jin raised an eyebrow and looked at Shui Qi with a half-smile, her meaning ambiguous, "That's strange. Bell clearly said there was a ghost, so why did you say there was an inside traitor, Shui Qi? Does that mean there's an inside traitor besides the ghost? But how do you know that?"

"Didn't our mission mention a mole? Or is it that your mission is different from mine, Ming Jin?" The long, narrow blue eyes pointed directly at Ming Jin without flinching, neither of them giving an inch.

Although the two are good friends outside the instance, they are serious once they enter the instance, meaning they will never let personal feelings interfere and will definitely have doubts when necessary.

Dao Lin walked over to Mu Yegui, patted her on the shoulder, and then whispered something in her ear. His icy blue eyes swept over everyone before slowly settling on Lan Xiao, who remained silent.

"Does Daolin suspect him?" Mu Yegui asked softly.

“No, what’s strange to me is another person, though I’m not sure what role he played in all of this. It makes me feel like more than one person knows about this and that they’ve conspired together, although I haven’t found any evidence,” Dao Lin said, shaking his head.

"The information has already been leaked," Ling Tong said slowly.

"Yes, the worst has happened." Before he could even warn the ghost, the information about the copy had already been leaked to the ghost with different rules, making it even harder to catch it now.

Mu Yegui was silent for a moment, then said softly, "Then let's stick to the original plan. I'll go test the ghost, and you can handle the players' testing."

A confident smile flashed across Daolin's face as he said, "The supplies have arrived just in time."

No sooner had the words been spoken than everyone heard the roar of a helicopter overhead.

Dao Lin and Ye Gui were speaking in riddles.

Although the term "traitor" has appeared several times, it actually has two meanings; it's up to you to guess.
