Chapter 600, page 2.1-74: The Crown: The Treasure of a Lost Dynasty
Bare feet stepped on the muddy ground, splashing mud and water, but without getting dirty at all.
Her fair, rounded toes lightly touched the ground as she slightly rose on her tiptoes, the gold ornaments on her clothes making a crisp sound as they twirled and collided. Her black hair danced in the air, revealing a long, misty gray braid loosely tied into three strands.
Her curled eyelashes fluttered, and her cool silver eyes gazed quietly ahead. A gentle breeze lifted her veil, revealing a delicate and beautiful face, as flawless as a doll's.
"Huh? Why is Xiao Ye Gui out in the wild all by herself? If I remember correctly, you should be with Lin Ya." A clear, slightly teasing voice came from behind.
Mu Yegui turned her head slightly and saw Shui Qi leaning against a tree, playing with a leaf in her hand, looking at her with a half-smile in her narrow blue eyes.
The brilliant sunlight slanted down on Shui Qi, and her dark, tousled hair faintly shimmered with a touch of ethereal blue, adding to her mysterious and unpredictable aura.
Mu Yegui held up a finger and gently placed it in front of her lips, saying in a soft, sweet voice with utmost seriousness, "Don't disturb my hide-and-seek game."
"You don't look like you're playing hide-and-seek at all," Shui Qi said helplessly as she casually tossed aside the leaf in her hand and walked towards Mu Yegui.
"How did things go?" Mu Yegui asked.
When the topic turned to business, Shui Qi frowned slightly and said with annoyance, "I accidentally let Skatech escape a few days ago."
"An accident?" Her cool, silver eyes were fixed on Shui Qi as she slowly spoke, "Wasn't it intentional?"
Shui Qi raised an eyebrow and looked back at Mu Yegui. The two remained silent for a long time. Suddenly, Shui Qi smiled faintly at Mu Yegui and said without any remorse, "Were you found out? I thought I could fool you."
Mu Yegui said slowly, "Your acting skills are far inferior to Jinxi's, not to mention you don't intend to hide that."
Shui Qi looked back at Mu Yegui innocently and said, "It wasn't exactly intentional. It's just that when we were checking him, we saw that Skatech was showing signs of loosening his ropes, but we deliberately didn't notice."
He paused and then said, "After she escaped, she regained control of the undead army. However, when I was controlling her, I deliberately pretended that she was sent by that person. So now she should be preparing to lead that undead army to fight that person."
Mu Ye glanced back at Shui Qi, "Hmm?"
Shui Qi choked for a moment, then added, "Fight."
Mu Yegui then turned his head away and stopped looking at him. Shui Qi immediately breathed a sigh of relief. He had been inexplicably nervous when he was being watched, feeling as if he had returned to the time when his teacher was staring at him, which was a little scary.
"She didn't lay a hand on you?" Mu Yegui asked.
"So I ran away," Shui Qi said casually.
It sounds easy, but it wasn't easy at all. That woman was incredibly vengeful; if he hadn't found the Transformer and used the item in time, he probably wouldn't have been able to escape at all.
"So the harassment that Daolin mentioned in the group a few days ago probably wasn't your doing, right?" Mu Yegui glanced at Shui Qi and said.
“Although it wasn’t me, it is indeed related to me.” Shui Qi paused and said, “Skataher was trying to catch me at the time, and I accidentally ran to Daolin and the others. I only changed course in a panic when I realized it. Fortunately, Skatah didn’t notice it.”
Mu Yegui took a few steps forward and then said, "Even if you run here, I can't help you." She glanced at Shui Qi and said calmly, "I used an item before entering the dungeon. The price was 30 days of weakness. During these 30 days, I have no ability to resist. So even if you lead the undead army here, I can't help you resist. At most, the two of you will be captured together."
Shui Qi stood frozen in place for a full three seconds, then said with a speechless expression, "Why didn't you say something like this sooner?"
"Do you think I would expose my weaknesses immediately?" Mu Yegui asked, tilting his head.
Shui Qi was speechless after hearing her words. He remained silent for a while, then said in despair, "It's too late to escape now..."
As Shui Qi finished speaking, the sound of bones grinding together could be heard from all around. Hand bones emerged from the ground, and then skeletons slowly crawled out, gathering more and more until they were so numerous that they were impossible to count.
Mu Yegui glanced at the bright sunlight, then swept her gaze over the skeleton army that surrounded them. Her expression remained calm, showing no sign of panic despite being in danger. She was as composed as if she wasn't the one facing the peril.
Shui Qi frowned and looked around warily. Then, he accidentally caught a glimpse of a calm emperor out of the corner of his eye. His lips twitched slightly, and he suddenly felt a sense of helplessness. At a time like this, couldn't he have a little sense of crisis?
"To be honest, I can't even lift a weapon right now. Shui Qi, don't expect me to fight for you. That's impossible." Mu Yegui looked at them quietly and stated the fact that he had no ability to fight.
"I..." Shui Qi didn't know what to say for a moment, feeling that it would be useless no matter what she said!
Mu Yegui took a step back and gave Shui Qi a thumbs-up in a serious tone, encouraging her, "Keep it up."
Shui Qi: "..." You accepted your vulnerability pretty quickly, but could you not have accepted it so quickly? At least put up a fight!
Mu Yegui pointed to the sword at his waist and said, "You can borrow it, but remember to return it to me."
Shui Qi glanced at the sword at her waist, then at the approaching skeleton army, took a deep breath, and said, "This sword won't break, will it? I won't pay for it if it does."
“No, this is Jafar’s personal sword. If it can’t even cut the bones of such a small skeleton, then it has no reason to exist.” Mu Yegui shook his head and spoke the truth.
Shui Qi drew his sword, and looking at the cold glint of its blade, he raised an eyebrow. No wonder…
No wonder Mu Yegui suddenly wore a sword at his waist; it was a token.
He took a deep breath and, sword in hand, charged towards the skeleton army.
Mu Yegui stood still, quietly observing the battle between Shui Qi and the Skeleton Legion, and slowly said, "Take half a step back with your right foot in three seconds, and lean your body 30 degrees to the left and back."
Shui Qi felt a little complicated when she heard Mu Yegui's words, but she did as she was told without hesitation. She successfully dodged the skeleton that was attacking her and then cleaved it in two with a single sword stroke.
The skeleton fell apart and lay on the ground, then slowly came back together and returned to its original shape.
Shui Qi frowned. This was going to go on forever. There must be other ways, right? But these skeletons weren't afraid of sunlight at all. What was their weakness?
Mu Yegui suddenly looked up and said, "They've arrived."
