Chapter 39, December 20: The Secret Mansion and Miss Lily's Toy House

Chapter 39, December 20: The Secret Mansion and Miss Lily's Toy House

With a flash of silver light, Mu Yegui's short sword was aimed directly at Yifa's neck. However, the latter took a slight step back at the moment of the attack, and Mu Yegui's attack missed.

His narrow, amethyst eyes were mysterious and deep. He casually stroked the [Siren] in his hand, and the blue light enveloped the two of them.

The next second, the surrounding scenery suddenly changed.

Mu Yegui remained seated on the stairs, but Yifa had vanished without a trace, her clothes now identical to those of the maid.

"Ina, what are you doing here?" a gentle female voice called from the stairs.

Mu Yegui slightly raised his eyes to look back at her, but did not answer, as if he was observing her.

The giant portrait on the stairs is not yet there, meaning this is an illusion...

A dreamlike world playing out scenes from the past.

But isn't the [Siren] already unusable during the breathing adjustment period?

"Why do you still not like to talk! Fine, the young master calls you over. Remember to come back obediently. You must not remain silent like this, do you hear me!" She frowned and kept warning him, just like an old mother who was completely worried.

Mu Yegui silently moved her little head to indicate her agreement.

"Good heavens, where did you pick up this bad habit? Talking to you is exhausting." She looked defeated, but still dutifully led Mu Yegui to the front of the study on the second floor.

She knocked gently on the door and said respectfully, "Young Master, Ina has arrived."

"Come in." The voice from inside the door sounded very young, yet carried a coldness.

"Go in by yourself, and remember my instructions, okay? You must be a good boy and listen to me!" she said to Mu Yegui repeatedly before leaving.

Mu Yegui looked down at the doorknob, which was exactly the same as before, and gently turned it before walking inside.

It's similar to the study on the first floor, but larger. Rather than a study, it's more like a huge doll studio, with all sorts of dolls piled up everywhere. On the workbench are unassembled doll limbs and incredibly realistic eyeballs, and doll wigs hang to the side.

Sitting at the desk was an extremely handsome young man with soft, curly golden hair, who was carefully drawing on a white bead with his pen.

He gently put down his brush, placed the finished eyeballs in a mold to dry, and the azure eyes were as clear and clean as the sky.

Turning his gaze to Mu Yegui, who was standing not far away, a hint of surprise and infatuation flashed in his azure eyes. Without a doubt, what he was thinking about was how to turn Mu Yegui into the most perfect doll.

In the kingdom, the more powerful the BOSS, the more abnormal his thought process. For example, when Fish thought about dismembering Mu Yegui, this one would definitely be no exception.

"It's perfect." Every aspect of it matches his aesthetic sense perfectly; it's as if it was made for him. His hair color is also different from most people's, so he doesn't even need a wig.

Behind him, on the wall, were displayed all sorts of fancy masks, except for one plain white mask that stood out from the rest.

"It's just that this outfit is too ugly." He slowly stood up and walked to the wardrobe next to him, taking out a pure black long dress.

This long dress is very similar to the one Mu Yegui wore before, but its design is more intricate, adorned with scattered gemstones, as if depicting the night sky. However, it is not a tulle dress; even though it appears to be made of a lot of material, it still only has two layers. The outermost layer is black tulle, casting a dark shadow over the night sky.

He handed the dress to Mu Yegui, gesturing for her to put it on.

Mu Yegui took the dress and went into the fitting room next door. She put it on and realized it was an off-the-shoulder style, perfectly showing off her collarbone. To be honest, Mu Yegui really liked the dress, especially since it looked so much like the one that person had given her.

Who is that person...? Mu Yegui suddenly realized that she had forgotten many things since she came here, as if the world was gradually erasing her past memories of the outside world and completely merging her with this world.

The longer it goes on, the less I want to leave.

“Something is still missing.” He looked at Mu Yegui, a hint of dissatisfaction flashing in his azure eyes.

Suddenly, he turned his gaze to the mask hanging on the wall to the side.

He quickly stepped forward, took off the pure white mask, and handed it to Mu Yegui, saying, "Wear it diagonally on your head."

Mu Yegui obediently took the mask. She discovered that the mask had two sides, one black and one white, and could be used on either side. This mask could cover her entire face. She wore the mask diagonally on the right side of her head with the white side facing outwards, and it felt as if it were grown on her head; she couldn't shake it off no matter what.

She carefully reached out and gently touched Mu Yegui's face, but the touch passed right through her.

"Just as I thought." He sighed softly, a trace of sadness clouding his azure eyes, and crystal tears suddenly fell, the sorrow and despair almost crushing him.

"The god I can never touch..." he whispered, his voice distant as if it came from afar.

The surrounding scenery changed again.

The boy had grown into a young man, and a shadow had fallen over his once clear and bright blue eyes. With a somber expression, he waited for his bride in a white suit. All the guests wore expressions of joy, but he alone remained numb and silent, like a puppet.

Day after day, he sculpted what he considered to be the perfect doll, only to smash it all in a fit of rage at the moment of completion.

"No! Not this!" he roared hysterically, smashing everything in the study.

One day, the woman of the house suddenly burst in and began to berate him. The man remained silent. She threw a bottle of sulfuric acid on him, glaring at him with a vengeful satisfaction in her eyes.

Finally, the man closed his eyes as he lay dying, and the mistress ordered the servants to throw his body out and dispose of it.

They were indeed childhood sweethearts, the woman said during the argument, but he had never shown any interest in her from beginning to end.

The mistress walked out of the study with a delighted expression. The young butler who was accompanying her at that time was undoubtedly Ifa.

Her amethyst-like, mysterious and deep eyes looked back at Mu Yegui in the study, and a smile unlike any she had ever shown before appeared on her lips, carrying a hint of determination.

Mu Yegui was slightly taken aback. To make things easier for her disciple, she jumped off the balcony of the study.

She knocked unconscious the maid who was carrying the master of the house, and then reached out and touched the master of the house's neck.

The pulse is weak and gradually slows down.

Without a doubt, he's about to die.

Is this what they call a plot-driven kill...?

But she wanted to save them.

Mu Yegui gazed at him quietly and said slowly, "I really like the clothes you made." Even if you look ugly now.

Mu Yegui is a true sucker for good looks, without any limits.
