Chapter 321, 121-37: The Girl Imprisoned in the Tower
Chapter 321, 1.21-37: The Girl Imprisoned in the Tower
"Is this the entrance to the spring?" Ming Jin looked at the deep forest road ahead, where the lush trees blocked out the bright sunlight, making it as dark as night.
Golden fireflies danced in the grass, scattered like stars.
"Who's there?!" Mingxi grabbed Mingjin's wrist, staring coldly at the tree in front of them, and shouted.
“The top-tier players who made it this far are indeed not to be underestimated.” Two or three players with hostile expressions emerged from behind the tree, each accompanied by an unidentified person wearing a black cloak.
In addition, players who had been lying in ambush before their arrival also emerged from behind other trees, almost completely surrounding them.
The girl shrank back in fear, and Ming Jin stepped forward to shield her behind her.
Ming Jin wore a gentle smile, looking very friendly, but the smile didn't reach his lake-blue eyes behind his silver-rimmed glasses. He chuckled softly, "It must have been hard for you to ambush us."
Mingxi chuckled and clapped her hands, saying sarcastically, "That's a pretty good way to wait for the rabbit to run into the tree stump."
"Hand over that woman; you have no chance of winning," the woman at the head of the group said coldly.
"Hmm... is there really no chance of winning?" Mingxi raised an eyebrow, her lake-blue eyes sweeping over the third-tier players surrounding them, before finally settling her gaze on a large tree.
He pointed to the big tree and said, "There should be someone hiding in that tree, won't you come out and meet them?"
The woman was surprised, completely unexpected that Mingxi would find out so quickly, as if they had never really hidden from them at all.
As soon as Mingxi finished speaking, there was a rustling sound of leaves rubbing together, and a black figure jumped down from the tree.
A black veil floated lightly over her head, obscuring half her face and adding an air of mystery. Her delicate and beautiful face remained calm, showing no panic at being discovered; her vibrant red lips were slightly pursed, devoid of any extra emotion.
Her long dress, draped in black veil, resembled a black wedding gown, swaying gently in the breeze.
“I can clearly sense a different aura. Are you the Crown Prince?” Ming Jin asked with a light laugh. Although it was a question, saying it was already an affirmation.
“My identity is none of your business. Just know that I’m an enemy.” Fernana glanced at Ming Jin with her amethyst-like eyes and said slowly.
"How cold-hearted." Mingxi shrugged and casually untied the rope binding her two-handed sword. Gripping the hilt of the sword with both hands, she coldly stared at them, then charged forward without saying another word.
Fernana took a step to the side, her black veil fluttering gracefully in the air. She easily dodged Mingxi's fierce attack, but the others around her were cut in half because they didn't have time to dodge, their internal organs scattered all over the ground.
As Mingxi attacked, Mingjin reached out and covered the girl's eyes, whispering in her ear, "Close your eyes, what's coming next is not something you can see."
"Watch out, he's fast!" the woman shouted to her companion.
The others drew their weapons to fight Mingxi, while some rushed towards him when they saw that Mingjin remained motionless.
He had only taken two steps when a sharp arrow grazed his neck and embedded itself in the tree trunk behind him, its fletching slightly.
Ming Jin held the silver bow in one hand, chuckling as she looked at them and said, "Although it's a ranged attack, do you want to test whether your movements are faster or my arrows are faster?"
Ming Jin casually took out a red gemstone and pressed it into the groove of the silver bow, then pulled out an arrow with white fletching and nocked it onto the bow.
He didn't aim at anyone; instead, he raised his hand and shot it into the air.
"Where are you shooting from!" one man sneered, sword in hand, closing in on Ming Jin and slashing fiercely at him. Ming Jin reached out and grabbed the girl's wrist, gently pulling her into his arms. He took a step to the side with one arm around her, avoiding the attack. Then, as the man returned to defend and thrust at him again, he was pierced straight through the throat by a falling white-feathered arrow.
She glanced at him quietly with her lake-blue eyes, then kicked him away without any mercy.
He released the girl and repeated his previous action, firing several arrows into the air in various directions. Throughout, a gentle smile graced his face, giving him a very approachable air. His round-framed glasses made him appear even more harmless.
On the other side, Mingxi seemed to be in a killing frenzy, and wherever her two swords struck, the ground was covered in blood.
"Attack from behind." Noticing that Mingxi didn't care about his back at all, they tried to attack him from behind, but they were pierced through the back by an arrow falling from the sky as soon as they got close.
"I don't need to worry about my back, because my brothers are here." Mingxi laughed wildly, the two-handed sword in his hand dripping blood continuously. There were no intact corpses lying haphazardly on the ground, and the blood flowed into a small river.
Fernana took a step forward, then rushed forward to stand in front of one of the men who had almost become victims of Mingxi's blade, her dagger and two-handed sword clashing and sparking.
Good weight……
The two-handed sword was several times heavier than an ordinary weapon, and at the moment of impact, Fernana almost dropped the dagger from her hand.
Mingxi smiled indifferently, exerted a little force with both hands, and with a 'bang', the dagger was cut in two.
"The quality of the weapons is really bad," Mingxi chuckled slowly.
There was no need to fight at all in this battle. If the two sides were of equal strength, it might be a close call. But the problem was that Ming Jin and Ming Xi's physical abilities were at least two levels higher than everyone else present.
A difference of one level is already a world of difference, let alone two or more levels.
Their weapons couldn't even inflict wounds on their bodies.
The outcome of this battle was predetermined from the start. Even if others say it's unfair, there's nothing they can do. After all, not everyone can possess or bear such a naturally superior physique.
Fernana frowned, and just as she drew another dagger to continue fighting, she felt a surge of heat.
"Retreat! Fernah!" the woman shouted to Fernah. "We can just wait for them to die."
Flames burned in the distant forest, slowly spreading toward this place.
Fernana looked slightly shocked, completely unexpected that they would set the forest on fire so recklessly.
Her hand holding the dagger tightened slightly, and finally she took a deep breath, abandoned the attack, and turned to leave.
"Didn't they think about how many creatures in the forest would be burned to death by doing this?" Fernana muttered angrily under her breath, but ultimately didn't show it to anyone.
Mingxi stopped what she was doing, frowning as she watched the fire raging in the distance grow ever stronger. Seeing all the players from the three lines retreat, she roared, "I thought we'd have a fair fight, but I didn't expect them to be so ruthless. They'd even go so far as to set the mountain on fire!!"
"This is troublesome. We need to get out of here as soon as possible," Ming Jin said in a deep voice, her face devoid of any smile.
We're about to begin the ending.
