Chapter 258, page 1.17, 35: A Night of Madness
Koya followed Fernana from a distance, not daring to get close at all, for fear that someone might be provoked and stab him.
Suddenly, Fernana paused slightly.
A figure stood under a streetlamp not far away.
The dim streetlights revealed a head of slightly long, dark hair shimmering with a hint of purple, and a gentle smile on the man's face. He stood quietly not far away, holding a gentleman's cane, seemingly waiting for their arrival.
Tang Xiuna...
Koya murmured those three words, a flicker of darkness crossing her light green eyes. She had seen him in the castle of the fairytale kingdom, and had heard of him from Moya. This person was clearly dead and had become a part of this world, so why was he here?
Logically speaking, Tang Xiuna, who is not the owner of the instance, should not be allowed to appear in this instance.
Moreover, the Tang Xiuna she had seen was always wearing that dark green noble robe and had a dark green earring in his left ear, nothing about the person in front of her matched the description.
So, who is this so-called 'Tang Xiuna'?
It definitely can't be the person in question.
His amethyst-like eyes were fixed on Tang Xiuna, his vision was a little blurry, and his nose felt a little sore.
Her lips moved slightly as she repeatedly uttered a single word, subconsciously smoothing her hair as if she didn't want him to see her in such a disheveled state.
“Tang…Shuna…” Fernana took a step forward and said uncertainly.
“It’s me.” ’Tang Xiuna’ smiled gently and extended a hand to her, as if inviting her to leave together.
“Ferna! That’s not Tang Shuna!” Koya frowned and shouted.
She knew that Tang Shuna was indeed still alive, and from the Tang Shuna she had seen, she could tell that the person in front of her was a fake. But Fernana didn't know that, yet even so, Fernana knew clearly that Tang Shuna was dead, so the person in front of her could absolutely not be the real Tang Shuna.
Why was Fernana still fooled?
Has this person really gone so far as to deceive himself?
Koya ran forward a few steps, trying to grab Fernna's hand, but before she could touch it, she was startled by a cold, sharp light and involuntarily took two steps back.
Fernana held a dagger to her, her face expressionless yet giving off a very ruthless feeling.
The surrounding lights flickered a few times, as if there was some poor contact.
"Don't be fooled! That person isn't Tang Xiuna at all! You know perfectly well that Tang Xiuna is dead. How could a dead man possibly appear?" Ke Ya shouted at Ke Ya.
She felt somewhat apologetic towards Tang Xiuna, but he had said that Fernana couldn't know he was still alive, so she wouldn't reveal it herself. She wanted to leave their matter to them to resolve; she had no intention of getting involved.
Even so, in principle Tang Xiuna is still a dead man, so her statement is also valid.
"Shut up!" Fernana suddenly yelled at Koya, "Don't talk about him like that! He's not dead!"
Koya was slightly taken aback, instinctively thinking that Fernana knew that Tang Xiuna was still alive, and she immediately felt a little guilty. But she quickly calmed down; there was no way Fernana could know about this, because there were no items on the fake Tang Xiuna that could be found on him.
Fernana didn't recognize him, so she was just deceiving herself by believing that Tang Shuna was still alive.
"Nana?" 'Tang Shuna' called gently from behind Fernana.
Felna froze, then turned and ran straight to 'Tang Shuna,' hugging him tightly and crying, 'I missed you so much! Where have you been? They said you were dead, but you're not dead, are you?!'
“I’m not dead, I’m sorry…” ’Tang Xiuna’ hugged Fernana back, his tone gentle and doting.
Koya watched helplessly as Tang Xiuna pulled out a short sword and stabbed Fernana in the back. She rushed forward and, at the last second, grabbed Fernana's shoulder and pulled her out of the way. The short sword ended up only piercing Fernana's arm. Blood gushed out immediately, sliding down her arm and onto the ground like a tap that hadn't been turned off.
"What are you doing!" Koya raised her flute and knocked the short sword out of 'Tang Xiuna's' hand. The cold light spun several times in the air and landed in an arc in the distance.
The streetlights flickered frequently, plunging us into darkness one moment and into light the next.
Fernana turned around and saw Koya's weapon aimed at 'Tang Shuna', a ruthless glint flashing across her face.
After his short sword was knocked away, 'Tang Xiuna' took out another short sword and stabbed it at Felna, seemingly intending to kill her.
"That's enough." Koya grabbed 'Tang Xiuna's' short sword and stabbed it into his chest with her backhand, driving the entire blade in.
However, from Fernana's perspective, it was 'Tang Shuna' who wanted to resist but was killed by Koya.
It was as if the scene of Tang Xiuna dying in front of her was replayed before her eyes, but the person who killed Tang Xiuna in her memory was replaced by Ke Ya at this moment.
"Kill you, kill you, kill you, kill you, kill you..." Fernna kept muttering the three words, her tone cold and filled with murderous intent, and without hesitation, she held the dagger and stabbed it into Koya's back.
Koya let out a muffled groan, her light green eyes flashing with disbelief.
Fernana pulled out her dagger and stabbed Koya a dozen more times, as if venting her anger, or as if she was afraid of not being able to kill her.
"Kill you, kill you, kill you, kill you, kill you..." He kept repeating these three words, his purple eyes wide open with hatred, his gaze unfocused and filled with nothing but darkness.
Koya fell to the ground, her eyes wide open, never imagining she would be treated this way. She didn't know when the pain subsided, but she felt her life force gradually draining away, weakening little by little.
Her light green eyes were a little blurry; she wanted to cry but couldn't.
"Why? You want to kill Tang Xiuna?" Fernana looked down at her, her eyes dark and unfocused, filled only with anger and hatred.
"I didn't..." Koya's mouth moved, but it was too dark in front of her to see Fernana's face clearly.
She just didn't want Fernna to be deceived. Was that wrong?
I just felt sorry for this person and wanted to help her. Does that mean she shouldn't have any compassion?
She didn't think she had done anything wrong, but she did feel a little tired.
It seems only selfish people deserve to live in this world.
To achieve their goals, they will stop at nothing and even scheme against anyone, ultimately losing their humanity.
His light green eyes stared blankly at the night sky, devoid of stars and moon, his vision growing ever darker.
"Do you regret it, Fernana?" Koya's mouth moved, and she suddenly felt ridiculous. She had only brought this upon herself.
“Everyone deserves to die.” Fernna looked coldly at Koya and said each word clearly.
The lights around the two flickered, then suddenly shattered with a 'snap,' the light disappeared, and everything plunged into darkness.
All that remained was complete silence.
