"Xiao Ye truly trusts them completely~" the clown laughed maniacally, his meaning ambiguous.
Her cool, silver eyes swept over the eight red dots remaining on the Nightmare Book, while clear blood flowed freely from the open wound on her cheek.
The sky was filled with stars, but there was not a trace of moonlight, as if the moon had hidden itself away.
"There's no moon today, I can't even tell what time it is..." Suddenly Mu Yegui opened his mouth and said, "Ah, eight hours have passed, it's time to rest."
As soon as he finished speaking, all the attacks on the screen above stopped at the same time, and the red dots on the Nightmare Book disappeared in an instant.
"It's a pity we couldn't decide a winner. The fact that your gas canisters have all disappeared means that even if the next round starts, they won't reappear. So, I won this match," Mu Yegui said slowly, staring intently at the clown's gradually disappearing figure.
"What a pity~ I was almost able to find your weakness~" The clown's tone was tinged with regret, and his smile was both manic and slightly terrifying.
Mu Yegui watched the clown disappear completely before muttering, "I clearly didn't find him at all."
The wounds on her waist, abdomen, chest, thighs, neck, and cheeks disappeared completely in an instant, as if she had never been injured at all.
The black dress she wore was the exclusive attire of the Crown Prince, so even if it was pierced, it would be repaired in an instant, and there was no need to worry about the clothes becoming tattered after the battle.
"Does Xiaoyin know where the weakness is?" Mu Yegui asked softly. She was only a little over sixty years old and was just a secondary personality of this body. Only the main personality knew the body's weaknesses.
"How would I know?" Mu Yin said, pursing his lips. Who would remember something from so long ago?
"Wasn't that your own decision?" Mu Yegui was slightly taken aback.
“Hmm…” Mu Yin suddenly fell silent. After a long while, just when Mu Yegui thought he wouldn’t speak, he suddenly said, “Although I have lived for ten thousand years, my memories are only second to those from ten thousand years ago.”
His tone carried a hint of reminiscence and confusion, as if he were a lost child who couldn't find his way home.
Yes, it only stays at the moment when it opened its eyes 10,000 years ago.
The Samuro are a solitary race with extreme hatred for their own kind; any encounter between them is a fight to the death, with only one surviving. They are abandoned by their mothers as eggs before birth, left to hatch on their own, and then fend for themselves.
There is no such thing as infant mortality, because the Samuro are already at the top of the food chain during their juvenile stage. Most importantly, the Samuro's probability of having offspring is only 0.0001%, even if they encounter another race during their mating season and transform into a matching sex.
The inherent racial segregation is like the universe's desire to exterminate this powerful species.
There are three ways to reproduce, each of which is extremely demanding. The last method, although it can guarantee 100% offspring for the same race, requires the death of two Samuros for one offspring to be born, and the number is still decreasing.
However, it didn't matter to Mu Yin.
Because of his solitary nature, even a small number of prey wouldn't bother him much; at most, it would just mean fewer prey would come to him on their own.
For the Samuro clan to truly transition from adolescence to adulthood, they must kill and eat their own kind; this can be considered a rite of passage into adulthood.
However, Mu Yin did not have these memories.
He had no memories of anything from birth to adulthood; it was as if they had vanished into thin air. He only vaguely remembered that he should have been an adult, but when he looked down, he saw his tiny hands, as if he had just been born.
He opened his eyes to find himself on a desolate, garbage-strewn planet. There was nothing there; the only things that kept him company were probably the meteorites and dust floating in the air.
The Samuro race is a race that is born with supernatural abilities, and Mu Yin's supernatural ability is space.
Upon waking up and using it for the first time, he discovered that his spatial abilities were incredibly powerful. The moment he used them, he could sense that he could freely travel to and from any part of this universe.
You can simply slash through space to enter.
Even if the Samuro clan is powerful, this is far too terrifying, like the power possessed by a god.
At that time, he didn't know the reason; he just thought it was amazing, nothing more.
Having lived a solitary life for millennia, with only himself as his own, he knew nothing of loneliness, only how to act recklessly. When hungry, he would randomly cleave through space to travel to a planet with life to hunt for food; when full, he would lie down and take a nap.
No one can hurt him.
Looking back now, that period was incredibly boring and tedious.
For thousands of years, he had not encountered a single Samuro other than himself, and he had been forced to remain in the form of a ten-year-old.
Later, he encountered a group of reckless humans who wanted to study him on an abandoned planet.
He was curious, so he followed them.
To prevent himself from killing everyone in anger, he forced himself into a deep sleep, allowing the humans to do whatever they wanted to him, though they couldn't harm him in any way. He didn't know how much time had passed before he was awakened from his slumber and encountered Nalan Xu, known as the 'Number One Person in Interstellar Brain Development'.
That woman was really weak, yet she managed to outmaneuver a group of people who were much stronger than her.
He suddenly became curious: how could she do such a thing when she was so weak? He asked her, and after stammering for several minutes, she spoke to him in an unfamiliar language. That's when he realized that their languages were actually different.
Perhaps influenced by the experiment, or perhaps it was his long-suppressed nature, he began to uncontrollably and frantically kill the life around him.
He thought Nalan Xu would be scared and scream, but the woman remained calm and composed, seemingly without any surprise.
He was furious and almost killed her several times, but she eventually persuaded him to stop.
He probably didn't know why he was convinced; he was curious about the experiment she mentioned. Even though he suffered a lot during his slumber, he was asleep and didn't know anything then, but now he was awake.
He accompanied Nalan Xu in his research, and when he was bored, he would go out for a treat. The woman always knew exactly what he was doing.
Finally, the medicine appeared.
The moment it was injected into his body, he seemed to sense something different.
It was as if a life that had been dormant within him had begun to be born and awaken. Nalan Xu named this thing Mu Ye Gui.
It means that fallen leaves return to their roots.
He scoffed at this, thinking it was nothing more than an appendage to him. Why did he not even have a name, while this thing had a name as soon as it appeared, and even returned to its roots?
It's just a part of him, so where does it really belong?
He really hated this creature called Mu Yegui, and sometimes he even thought how much better it would have been if he hadn't agreed to Nalan Xu's research back then, so that this annoying thing wouldn't exist.
So he began to deliberately stay out of sight, observing the thing's every move from inside his body.
But later, my thoughts gradually changed.
When all things become independent entities, his gaze begins to constantly follow their movement.
From not knowing what loneliness was to experiencing solitude alone, he deeply realized that something had changed, and an extremely special feeling was born.
Now he understands what kind of feeling this is.
is love.
Profound, deep, and intense, it's like being addicted to poppy, something you can never escape.
"I love you."
This is Mu's hidden cry from the bottom of his heart, just as his choice of five sunflowers to give to Mu Yegui represents his silent love, admiration, loyalty, and unwavering feelings.
Even in death, this life will not change in the slightest.
Even so, I still won't call your name.
Leaves fall and return to their roots; we are all one, so where will we return to?
Mu Yin, one of the male protagonists (I can't quite pinpoint his role, so I'll just put him here) (the other being Ling Tong), is the only character in the entire story who has a romantic storyline with Mu Yegui. He's a self-reliant and self-submissive character, awesome!
Looking closely at the previous plot, Xiao Yin never called Ye Gui's name even once. She either had a blank expression or remained silent, but she never called Mu Ye Gui.
This chapter unlocks Mu Yin's personal storyline and the main plot (anything involving the male lead and the second male lead is part of the main plot).
Male protagonists: Mu Yin (male protagonist of the world line and Ye Gui line), Ling Tong (male protagonist of the interstellar line).
Male supporting characters: Xie Er (male supporting character in the world route and Ye Gui route), Dao Lin (male supporting character in the kingdom route).
P.S.: The worldline includes the interstellar timeline and the kingdom timeline. The kingdom timeline refers to the world of this story, while the interstellar timeline refers to the broader context before Ye Gui enters the kingdom timeline, the so-called real world. The Ye Gui timeline refers to the personal storylines related to Mu Ye Gui.
My stories always have complex and diverse plot lines, but basically every character has their own branching storyline, which is actually quite easy to categorize if you look closely (pfft).
The next holographic game will be the real Shura field storyline (Ye Gui will still be the protagonist, but there may be two female leads). This clean game has no romance lines except for Mu Yin (except for supporting characters).
