Chapter 203, Sections 1.15 and 1: Royal Wars
"Do you know what Laziness's name is?" Mu Yegui looked at everyone on his phone, then looked up at Ji Qi and asked.
Ji Qi was slightly taken aback, and after a long while, he slowly said, "He doesn't have a name." It wasn't that he didn't want to give him a name, but that he truly had no name to call him.
Mu Yegui pointed to the phone screen and asked softly, "Huh? But don't all the other people have names?"
"He said he was too lazy to come up with a name, and the word 'lazy' was fine; having other names would be too much trouble. So for him, 'lazy' is his name," Ji Qi said as he sent a series of messages on his phone.
That does fit the label of 'lazy' quite well, at least more so than the other six people.
"You haven't given me my things yet," Mu Yegui asked.
“This is a card from Sher. He said he was worried you wouldn’t have enough money, so he specifically asked me to deliver it to you… This guy probably doesn’t know that the Crown Prince has pocket money.” Ji Qi’s voice trailed off at the end. “Given Sher’s arrogant personality, he might really overlook that.”
Mu Yegui looked down at the black card and put it back into the Nightmare Book. Even if he could spend money, he couldn't possibly spend that much.
"Now that the matter is settled, I shall take my leave." Ji Qi bowed to Mu Yegui and then turned to leave.
So Ji Qi was just here to act as a postman and deliver things, right? The NPCs all seemed quite friendly.
She looked up at the magnificent castle in the distance and suddenly remembered what Adele had said about Fish and the royal family.
Why don't we go take a look...?
the other side.
"Is Koya alright?" Moya called out to Koya on the other side of the corridor.
"Oh no, I've attracted the guards." Turning her head, she saw a group of armored guards rushing towards her. She turned and ran in another direction, regretting her decision. She should have known better than to just barge into the castle because of a rumor.
No matter how you look at it, a castle can't possibly compare to a mere regular dungeon!
Moya ran frantically down the corridor, and when he passed a room, he opened the door and ran inside without hesitation.
He closed the door, leaned against it, and gasped for breath, looking like he had done some very strenuous exercise.
The noise in the hallway gradually subsided, and Moya finally breathed a sigh of relief and began to look around the bedroom.
He gently turned on the room light, and the bright light flickered briefly before illuminating the entire room.
The room was very large, but the furniture was old and covered in dust, as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The heavy curtains were tightly closed, preventing any sunlight from getting in, and the air was filled with the slightly unpleasant and pungent smell of dust and musty wooden furniture.
She covered her nose and mouth with one hand, and waved her other hand in the air in hopes of dispelling the smell and dust.
"This reminds me of the moldy bread I ate when I was a kid, it's disgusting—" Moya covered her mouth and almost couldn't hold back from vomiting. The smell wasn't that unbearable, but Moya accidentally made the connection, and then tragedy struck.
She knew that the royal family had a crown prince prop, which is why she brought Moya along, thinking that at least one of them had to become the crown prince.
I don't know where this secret information came from, but it says that if you're not the Crown Prince, you're guaranteed to die in the September instance.
So in the next five months, she must work hard to overcome the challenges and become the crown princess.
It sounds simple, but it's actually really difficult. The Crown Prince instance is the kind that really tortures players to death. If she hadn't been quick-witted, she probably would have died under the guards' swords long ago.
Normally, she has a good chance of winning against NPCs in dungeons. However, this Crown Prince dungeon has a buff, also known as a rule.
The guards' strength is infinitely increased, creating a mode where players can never defeat them. This means you must either avoid the guards or run away upon seeing them, or you'll be hacked to pieces.
There's only one quest in a normal dungeon, but there are three or four in the Crown Prince dungeon, and you have to complete every single one. Group quests are manageable, but individual quests are quite troublesome. Luckily, she and Koya got team quests, meaning they could complete them by cooperating.
As long as you complete the mission and pass the Crown Prince instance, the other character, even if they are not the Crown Prince, will not die. However, if you die midway, then you are truly dead, with no chance of repentance.
"I guess I'm just unlucky..." Moya covered her mouth as she stepped onto the faded red carpet, looking at the various furnishings in the room.
There seemed to be a display stand on the desk not far away.
Curious, she walked over, picked up one of the display pieces, and wiped it with her sleeve. The photo inside was torn, but she could still vaguely make out a noble little boy dressed in aristocratic attire, with dazzling golden tousled hair and clean, pure blue eyes—a veritable little prince. However, half of his face was torn, so she couldn't see the child's complete features.
Other photos were also severely damaged, some even maliciously marked with an X and a knife stuck in them.
The desk was covered in various scratches, as if it had been deliberately damaged in the past.
Suddenly, Phyllis's voice rang in my ears: "[Congratulations, player, for discovering the hidden secret of the Fairy Tale Kingdom's royal family. Would you like to switch to the Crown Prince questline?]"
Moya was slightly taken aback, and quickly asked, "Can the Crown Prince's questline be changed?"
The Fairy Tale Kingdom instance is characterized by its storyline. If the storyline involves the Crown Prince, there's a chance it will replace your quest. However, the Crown Prince's quest can only be replaced by another Crown Prince's quest; once replaced, the original quest will no longer be relevant to you.
"If my friend and I entered the Crown Prince instance together, and I changed the questline, what impact would it have on her?"
[You changed your questline, but she didn't, which only means you've gone down different paths. Theoretically speaking, you're now in two separate Crown Prince scenarios.]
"Oh, I see..." Moya said in realization.
So, would you like to change the Crown Prince's questline?
“Change it,” Moya said. He came here to become the crown prince, so two crown prince instances would mean there would be two crown princes, which would eliminate the need to compete with Koya for the crown prince item.
If that's the case, then why doesn't she accept it?
Please wait...
