Chapter 18, Section 1.1: Choice
"Fei, my feet hurt so much." The soft female voice carried an unintentional vulnerability and coquettishness, making one want to protect her.

Mu Yegui paused slightly, her delicate face, no bigger than a palm, beneath the hood remained as calm as ever. She looked toward the source of the sound, her cool silver eyes filled with a hint of seriousness and curiosity.

The young man, nicknamed Fei, nodded after hearing the girl's words, walked up to her, and squatted down, indicating that he could carry her on his back.

"Fei, don't spoil Ruan Peng like this. What will happen to her if she can't even walk this far?" A young man in casual clothes stared at the two of them with displeasure.

"Her feet hurt." His handsome face was slightly obscured by his black, tousled hair. He half-squatted in front of the girl, waiting for her to climb onto his back, like a black knight guarding a princess.

"You'll carry her if she says her feet hurt? Doesn't she have feet? She expects someone to carry her for such a short distance? Are her feet made of tofu? Does she think she's some kind of rich young lady from Harman?" The man clicked his tongue and said sarcastically. Anyone with eyes could see that he really disliked the girl.

"Zhou Hao! Will you die if you don't say anything?!" another person shouted angrily, but then turned around and gently comforted the girl who had been mocked by Zhou Hao.

"Who are you? Do I know you? You're just a dog. Don't bark at me while I'm talking!" Zhou Hao sneered, his gaze shifting from the girl to him. He said quietly, "Fei, I still advise you not to get involved with this woman anymore. She's not as simple as she seems."

"Zhou Hao, did I do something to upset you? Why are you slandering me like this?" Ruan Peng frowned and asked.

"Slander? No way. Anyone with eyes can see that He Huayuan is your dog, yet you still dare to mess with my friend. Ruan Peng, I'd like to ask you, were you with the captain during the school trip? Now that the captain is missing, you've set your sights on Fei, this backup plan? What a convenient deal!" Zhou Hao pulled Fei's hand, shielding him behind him, adopting a protective stance.

“I didn’t… Zhou Hao, how could you do this…” Ruan Peng’s face was pale, and she looked at Zhou Hao in disbelief. She took a step back involuntarily, and looked so shocked that she seemed like she would collapse at any moment.

"You fucking think what I saw in the bathroom was fake?! It was live footage, and you still want to deny it? You filthy bitch!" Zhou Hao was absolutely furious with this woman. How could something he saw with his own eyes be fake? Did she think he was blind?!

He Huayuan grabbed Ruan Peng and yelled, "Zhou Hao, don't go too far! Pengpeng said she didn't, and that's final! She was forced! Do you want her to die again?"

"Why don't you try dying in front of me? I'd love to see. After all, I'm not flying, there's absolutely no way I'm going to save you." Zhou Hao glanced at the two of them with disdain and walked forward first, not forgetting to grab his friend's arm before he left.

Mu Yegui blinked as he watched this scene, and suddenly remembered Shan Peining's comment while watching the show: "What a wonderful drama of the year!" But the onlookers were about to leave.

As they walked, a fork in the road appeared before them. There were nearly 13 forks in the road, each marked with a sign in the Kingdom's script, but no one could understand what they meant.

People around stopped to watch. Some decisively chose the side path and went in, some hesitated and followed the crowd, while others stayed in place and thought carefully.

Mu Yegui also remained at the center of the fork in the road, choosing neither path.

She took out the item she had previously acquired, the "Red Eye Treasured by the '75' Rabbit Clan," and slowly said, "Use the item to view the 'Hidden Door Key to the Information House.'"

[Successfully used.]

[The key to the secret door of the information agency (crossed out) The key to the main gate of the secret mansion [unique]]

[Detailed Information: This is an extremely rare quest item that can only be obtained by fulfilling the requirements of its owner at the Information Center. It has amazing effects when used in the Hidden Hall!]

[Location of the Hidden Mansion: After exiting Second Street, choose the eighth fork in the road; it will be there once you exit the fog-shrouded area.]

"Xiao Jin, which direction do you prefer?" Her soft voice was calm, and although it was just a question, all she said was a flat statement.

Jin Yin lay on Mu Ye Gui's shoulder with its eyes closed, seemingly still asleep. However, upon hearing Mu Ye Gui's question, it involuntarily shook its leg, raised its left hind leg, and pointed to the sixth fork in the road on the left.

Mu Yegui nodded in realization and obediently went inside.

From the moment she stepped into the eighth fork in the road, the sky gradually darkened, and a faint white mist lingered around her, seemingly trying to obscure the surrounding scenery. She had indeed wanted to know information about that dungeon, but obtaining it from the information broker would only cost her all her money. It was better to use the items Mu Yin had obtained earlier to check for hidden information. While she might not be able to pinpoint the exact location of the dungeon, at least she wouldn't stray too far from her goal.

Becoming a full resident after completing ten dungeons is far too slow, so Mu Yegui's goal is to completely conquer all dungeons. Any dungeon can be completely conquered, but only if you obtain the core item guarded by the dungeon's owner.

Mu Yegui now possesses two important items for high-level dungeons: aside from the invitation to the gathering dungeon given by Fei Xiu, the only other item left is the key to open the high-level dungeon that he just obtained from the information shop owner.

No one knew how to enter the kingdom's instance, since they had been forcibly pulled into it before. In fact, she should have asked about the entry method for the normal instance earlier, but she completely forgot because of the information broker's interference.

The surrounding fog grew thicker and thicker, completely obscuring the road ahead and making it impossible to see anything.

Mu Yegui reached out to soothe Jin Yin, whose fur was standing on end, then looked down at his fingers, which had become a blurry mess.

The fog was so thick that it was easy to lose one's way, and one could not see anything beyond ten centimeters.

Those with weak willpower might feel fear at this moment, growing increasingly terrified of the unknown future.

'Ah—' 'Ah—' 'Ah—'

'Ah' 'Ah—' 'Ah—' 'Ah—'

The mournful cries of crows came from the thick fog, as if they were calling right next to her ear.

An unidentified bird pecked at the tree trunk with its beak, making rhythmic sounds.

Thump, thump, thump-thump, thump-thump.

Thump, thump, thump, thump.

Thump, thump, thump-thump, thump-thump.

Boom, boom, boom, boom.

Mu Yegui paused slightly, then turned and walked to the left without hesitation.

The crow said that going to the right was a false alarm.

Based on the rhythmic pattern of birds tapping trees, we can conclude that the left side is the real one.

In other words, if you turn to the left without hesitation after hearing the prompt, you will definitely be able to get out of this fog.

Hint: The final sounds, whether it's the crow's cawing or the thud of the tree being struck, are all in Morse code.

If it's the fifth fork in the road from the left, then it's the eighth one from the right.

From now on, whoever has the nicest-sounding name will definitely be a supporting character in my family, while the rest will be just passersby.
