The soldiers charged toward the crowd in response. Shui Qi spotted a mounted soldier, grabbed a spear from the ground, and threw it at him. After the soldier fell off his horse, Shui Qi quickly seized the horse and mounted it.

The others did the same, but within minutes of meeting, the group had slipped away again.

Zhu Yan remained standing still throughout, rubbing his pale, pointed ears as if he hadn't been offended at all. Seeing the soldiers apologize to him, he blinked his blood-red eyes and said contemptuously, "You thought you could escape without being chased? What are you asking me here for? Do you want me to kill you?"
