The Purple-Robed Celestial Master has turned into a zombie?! Who can stand that?!
Chapter 136 Woman in Black
Chapter 136 Woman in Black
At the foot of Longhu Mountain, several luxury cars stopped.
These luxury cars are adorned with Land Rover and Rolls-Royce logos.
Clearly, each of these cars is very expensive and not something that ordinary people can afford.
Those sitting in this car are all either rich or powerful.
As the door of a van opened, a woman dressed in black and wearing a black veil stepped out.
The woman was wearing a black hat and sunglasses; just by looking at her attire, you could tell she wasn't an ordinary tourist.
A very thin, withered old man got off the bus with her.
The old man had a face like a zombie and was dressed in all black.
The old man was holding an umbrella when he got off the bus, and he exuded an aura that kept strangers at bay.
An ordinary person would feel uncomfortable just by looking at him, as if the old man had an aura that was sinister and menacing.
After these people got off the bus, the old man came to the woman's side.
The woman in black sneered, looking at Longhu Mountain in front of her.
"So this is Longhu Mountain. I'm going to see if it's as powerful as the legends say."
The woman in black spoke fluent Japanese.
She was clearly not a native of China, but came from Japan.
The woman in black had a chrysanthemum embroidered in red thread on the chest of her black dress. This chrysanthemum is a special symbol of the cherry blossoms.
The woman in black came to Longhu Mountain because an ancestor of hers had died in the Dragon Kingdom some time ago, and the person responsible was Longhu Mountain. She came here to seek revenge.
The woman in black, along with a group of Sakura sorcerers and a withered old man beside her, headed directly towards Longhu Mountain and climbed to the top of the mountain.
Upon arriving at the main entrance of Longhu Mountain, one sees the following words prominently displayed on the couplets on both sides:
First line: With high virtue, even dragons and tigers submit.
The second line reads: "Virtue is so great that even ghosts and gods revere it."
This is a couplet from the Celestial Master's Mansion on Longhu Mountain.
The main idea of the couplet is as follows: During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Daoling refined elixirs in Longhu Mountain. On the day the elixir was completed, dragons and tigers appeared. After that, Zhang Tianshi (Celestial Masters) of all generations lived in Longhu Mountain, praying for the common people. They were highly respected and even ghosts and gods admired them.
This couplet vividly portrays Zhang Tianshi's immense magical power and profound Taoist virtues, which even dragons and tigers submit to and ghosts and gods admire, allowing readers to better appreciate the vastness and depth of Taoist culture.
Then, looking at the couplet, the woman in black smiled disdainfully.
With profound spiritual attainments and high moral character?
real or fake?
She plans to meet the group from Longhu Mountain in person.
Then, just as the woman in black was about to step into the interior of Longhu Mountain, her foot had only just crossed the threshold.
The next second, a beam of spiritual light shot out from the first main hall inside Longhu Mountain, the Wang Lingguan Hall.
The beam of light struck the woman in black directly, forcing her to retreat several steps.
They stopped her outside Longhu Mountain.
Wang Lingguan, whose original name was Wang E, later changed his name to Wang Shan because of Master Sa.
The guardian deities of mountains in Taoism.
The "Complete History of Immortals Through the Ages" states that he was a general in the Jade Emperor's court, in charge of investigating matters in heaven and on earth.
There is a folk saying that he has "three eyes that can see all things under heaven, and one whip that can awaken people from the world." According to the History of Ming, his original name was Wang Shan. He was from Xiangyin County, Yueyang. During the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song, he studied under the Taoist priest Sa Shoujian of Western Shu and received Taoist talismans and secret images. He was a disciple of the Taoist priest Lin Lingsu.
He is an important deity in Taoism.
He is also a famous Taoist god of thunder, fire, and demon slayer, in charge of eliminating plagues and poisons.
Wang Lingguan's full title is "Primordial Chief General, Loyal Protector of the Way, Three-Five Fire Chariot King, Heavenly Lord, Mighty Spirit Manifestation Heavenly Venerable".
Lingguan is the most revered guardian deity in Taoism.
Taoism has a saying about five hundred spirit officials, and Wang Lingguan is the head of the five hundred spirit officials, with the title "Dutian Da Lingguan".
In the first main hall of many Taoist temples, the guardian deity is usually this Wang Lingguan.
Upon entering a Taoist temple, the first hall inside the mountain gate is often the Lingguan Hall. Inside the hall is enshrined a red-faced, bearded deity wearing golden armor and a red robe, with three angry eyes, riding on wind and fire wheels, holding a golden seal in his left hand and a golden whip in his right. His image is extremely majestic and brave, inspiring fear.
This is Wang Lingguan, a guardian deity of Taoism, also known as Marshal Wang, the Fire Chariot Spirit Officer.
Wang Lingguan faces the mountain gate, his fiery eyes on his forehead able to distinguish truth from falsehood and discern good from evil. Therefore, when Taoists visit a temple, they first pay homage to Wang Lingguan after entering the mountain gate. There is a folk saying, "Before going up the mountain, first pay homage to Wang Lingguan," to express their reverence for this Taoist guardian deity.
They are essentially the door gods of Taoism.
Moreover, it is extremely effective, especially the statue of Wang Lingguan on Longhu Mountain, which is incredibly efficacious, keeping all demons and monsters out.
Someone once posted this question after watching a horror movie: If Chu Renmei went up Longhu Mountain, would she be as scary as she is in the movie?
Can I defeat the Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain?
Below is a popular post with the following reply: First of all, Chu Renmei will not go to Longhu Mountain, because although she is very powerful in the eyes of ordinary people, she is considered to have done good deeds in the eyes of the Taoist priests of Longhu Mountain.
In the presence of the eminent Taoist masters of Longhu Mountain, she was nothing more than a trivial little ghost.
He doesn't even qualify as a demon king.
If Chu Renmei dares to go to Longhu Mountain, it would be a meritorious deed delivered to her door. She probably wouldn't even get to see the high-ranking Taoist priests; some of the junior Taoist priests would be scrambling to take her away.
Another important point is that Chu Renmei cannot enter Longhu Mountain; she may not even be able to step through the threshold.
You might think you can come and go as you please at Longhu Mountain, but that's because you're a living person, and an ordinary one at that.
Therefore, the guardian deity of Longhu Mountain won't hold it against you.
But for demons and monsters, that place is a forbidden zone. If you let Chu Renmei in, she wouldn't even be able to step over the threshold. She would be the kind of person who would get caught and beaten up by Wang Lingguan if she got close to Longhu Mountain.
Wang Lingguan: You are alive, an ordinary person, and you've come to burn incense and worship Buddha, so naturally we won't make things difficult for you.
If you are alive and see me in Longhu Mountain, do not bow to me, but call me Wang Lingguan, and I will not find fault with you.
But if you see me again after you've died, guess what you'll call me?
If you don't kneel before me, you're being disrespectful, you're not calling yourself Heavenly Venerable, and I'll whip you to death.
Buddhist monks are vegetarians, but Longhu Mountain is not, and Wang Lingguan was not a vegetarian either.
At this moment, the woman in black was blocked outside the gate of Longhu Mountain and was pushed back several steps, which instantly attracted the attention of many tourists.
Many tourists who witnessed this scene were also amazed.
"What happened? It looks like that person was just bounced away?"
"Can't we get in? Could it be demons or monsters?"
"Isn't the gate to Longhu Mountain supposed to be open to anyone? What's going on?"
"I'm not sure, but something feels off. These people don't seem like ordinary people."
"Look, a Taoist priest has come from Longhu Mountain."
