Days wandering around Hogwarts
Chapter 468: Pass the Assessment
Chapter 468: Pass the Assessment
Charles was confused by the prophecy he had made, but he couldn't tell who or what it was directed at, so it was the same as not saying anything.
The bustle of the Gryffindor common room faded away, and everyone returned to their dormitories, ending a day that was worth remembering for a long time.
Seamus had just changed into his dressing gown when Charles returned to his dorm and tossed him two rolls of parchment.
"What is this?" Seamus took the parchment. "Is it a spell?"
Charles replied: "You need my approval for the assistant you choose."
"My only criterion for whether I agree or not is to go to the place on the map and come back intact."
Seamus opened the parchment scroll. One was Dumbledore's authorization letter, and the other was a map that looked like a cave in the Forbidden Forest.
"What is that place?" He was not very familiar with the Forbidden Forest.
Charles replied: "A place where your level can be tested, where your life is in danger."
Simo said, "Since there is a risk to our lives, why do you want us to go?"
Charles said, "When did you develop the delusion that the Triwizard Tournament wouldn't be dangerous?"
"The first two games are just warm-ups. The third game will be the Fire Dragon's turn."
Seamus asked him in surprise, "Do you know what the game is about?"
Charles shrugged and said, "Don't forget that my restaurant has business dealings with the dragon farm. It's easy to find out how many dragons Hogwarts has ordered and when they will be shipped."
"You don't think it's for a dinner party, do you?"
Seamus thought that made sense.
Charles changed into his pajamas and said before going to bed: "You can arrange this matter yourself, I only care about the results."
"Don't forget, the Warrior is responsible for the safety of his assistants."
Simo began to feel the pressure building up on him and didn't sleep well that night.
Starting from the next morning, people kept coming to him to recommend themselves, hoping to participate in the Triwizard Tournament as an assistant.
Not only students in grades six and seven, but even those in grade three came to him.
The first group of students in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class that day were Hufflepuff third-year students. Rolf Scamander was waiting for Seamus at the classroom door.
"I heard you need an expert on magical creatures." Rolf said to Seamus excitedly, "Believe me, I'm definitely the best in Hogwarts!"
Then he whispered, "I often go to the Forbidden Forest, and the two Mr. Weasleys can testify for me!"
Seamus told him, "The game is dangerous, you're only in the third grade."
Rolf said confidently: "It doesn't matter. My grandfather defeated Grindelwald's plots many times. I'm no worse than him!"
Charles was speechless listening to this and almost called Grindelwald to have afternoon tea with him.
But wizards just believed that a hero's son would be a hero too, so Seamus began to think seriously about it and added him as a friend on his communication notebook, and they would talk about it later if there was anything.
After the Defense Against the Dark Arts class that day, Moody kept Seamus.
Moody asked him, "Would you like to come to me every evening for some extra tutoring?"
Seamus immediately responded, "I'm open to instruction!"
Moody added, "I hope you can bring your assistants with you."
"From eight to eleven every night."
"I won't write you a note, but if anyone is caught by Filch, I won't recognize him as qualified to participate in the Triwizard Tournament, including you."
Seamus nodded immediately.
Hiding from Filch is no big deal.
At lunch, Seamus told Harry, Hermione, Fred and George about his initial choices for assistants.
Fred said, "Diggory's team had one more assistant than expected, so he invited one of us to join." Then George said gloomily, "But he also said that players under the age of seventeen must get Charles's consent."
Harry and Hermione didn't know this yet and had strange expressions on their faces.
The two of them haven't been getting along well with Charles lately and haven't spoken to each other for a while.
Seamus said, "Charles told me about this last night. It requires passing a test in the Forbidden Forest."
"I want to discuss something with you, whether to invite Malfoy to participate."
The expressions of the other people became strange.
They were certainly not happy about it, but among those who were relatively proficient in the Dark Arts, the other students were not familiar with it.
In the past two years, Malfoy has been keeping a low profile because he has lost his family and has no father to support him.
More importantly, he was traumatized by the beating Charles inflicted on him, so he rarely provoked Hermione, for fear that one day he would wake up and find himself in a private room at the bottom of the lake.
Hermione was the first to say, frowning, "If he wasn't so annoying during the competition, it's not impossible to cooperate once for the glory of Hogwarts."
Harry hesitated and struggled for a moment, then nodded.
Fred and George looked at each other. Even though they had obtained many Slytherin books for the Weasleys, they had not studied them much because there was no demand for them. They could only nod.
Ron stared blankly.
He suddenly realized that compared with his friends and brothers, he had no special skills to show off.
During the break after lunch, Seamus went to see Malfoy while Charles was experimenting with the ruby in the castle courtyard.
The mascot of the New Zealand Quidditch team the Mottola Macaws is a phoenix named Sparks. A while ago, the overseas anecdotes section of the Daily Prophet detailed a story about a team member giving Sparks a massage. After reading it, Charles decided to give it a try.
Charles rubbed the place where Ruby's neck and back were connected. The phoenix felt plump and good to the touch. It closed its eyes in comfort.
There were quite a few first and second grade students watching nearby, and they also wanted to try it.
Erica came over and imitated rubbing the ruby, taking the opportunity to whisper to Charles: "Come to my place tonight."
Charles nodded.
Romilda Vane, a second-year Gryffindor girl, was watching Charles rubbing the phoenix. She noticed them whispering to each other and became curious. She asked, "What is your relationship?"
Erica looked at her with a smile, licked her lips and said, "You can come too."
Wanni asked in surprise: "Are you really a vampire?"
Erica asked in confusion, "How do I not look like a vampire?"
Wanni said sheepishly, "Huh? I thought you were just...albino."
"Because I noticed you're not afraid of garlic at all."
Erica had come to the Gryffindor table many times before and enjoyed the garlic chicken wings very much.
She pouted and said, "Because English food is more terrible than garlic!"
The Hogwarts students around them couldn't argue with that.
In the evening, Charles came to Erica's place.
Erica said to him, "Karkaroff asked me to ask you if there is a person named Steve Rogers in Hogwarts."
Charles shook his head and said, "I haven't heard of it. What's the matter?"
"Karkaroff looks angry," Erica said.
Charles wondered if there was something wrong with Crookshanks' hair and he was punished by Voldemort.
