Chapter 76 French Buyer
The Savannah Film Festival currently does not have an award section, but is more about film screenings and artistic exchanges.

Film masters and actors from all over the world will have face-to-face exchanges with students from the Academy of Art during the film festival.

The "Zombie Gigolo" crew led by Benjamin certainly does not have this qualification.

Although he graduated from the Savannah College of Art, Benjamin does not even have a famous alumnus.

A large number of promotional booths were set up in the open space between the two theaters on campus. Martin and Catherine, the male and female protagonists of the film, put on makeup as the characters in the film and distributed promotional materials to people coming and going.

Martin's vampire costume and Catherine's image as a female hunter wearing leather clothes and carrying a sword attracted many people to come and enter the booth to learn about the film.

"Zombie Gigolo will be showing at the Festival Theatre at 7pm."

In the center of the bulletin board, there is an eye-catching slogan.

The leading actor Martin was very active. Every time he handed out a piece of information, he would say to people: "7pm, Festival Theatre, welcome."

The male protagonist worked so hard that the female protagonist, Catherine, felt embarrassed to slack off and never stopped talking.

Occasionally, when there were fewer people around, Martin brought two unopened bottles of mineral water and gave one to Catherine.

While drinking water, Catherine whispered, "No matter how much we do, our pay won't increase."

Martin smiled and replied, "We are the male and female protagonists. If the film sells well, no one can steal our limelight."

Another person was attracted by the large poster. Martin put down the mineral water, walked over and handed him the flyer.

The man picked up the brochure and read it carefully.

Martin realized that he was not just curious, so he said, "Sir, the film will be shown at the Festival Theater at 7pm. If it's convenient for you, you can come and learn about it."

The man pointed at the character on the coloring page and asked, "Are you the leading actor? Are you playing a vampire?"

"Yes, I'm the leading actor." The other person spoke English with an accent, which Martin thought was very similar to Michel Gondry's. He asked tentatively, "Are you French, sir?"

The man nodded: "I'm Blanco from France."

Martin invited Blanco to the booth and asked as they walked over: “You look like someone who works in the film industry?”

Blanco asked, "Because I'm at a film festival?"

"Your temperament is very similar to that of a French friend of mine." Film practitioners from the same country may be friends or enemies. Martin's words were vague: "He is a film artist who came to Georgia to film a movie some time ago, so I was particularly impressed by him."

Blanco laughed. “You mean Michelle?”

Martin knew the way as soon as he heard it, and said, "Yes, Director Michel Gondry. I have enjoyed French meals in Atlanta and tasted the specialties of Georgia with him. He is not only a film artist, but also has the super high level of French food appraisal."

The words sounded particularly pleasant to his ears, and Blanco followed Martin into the booth.

Dave, Benjamin and others saw Martin communicating enthusiastically with others and did not go over for the time being.

They were very reassured about Martin.

If it were Catherine, she would have taken over the reception work long ago.

Kelly Gray, dressed in a professional suit, came to the booth with her assistant Ella. She moved closer quietly and listened to Martin and the other man talking.

"Michel invited me to Paris when he left." Martin said with longing in his eyes: "I have always wanted to experience the atmosphere of the capital of art and romance up close, but unfortunately, several months have passed and I still haven't had the chance."

Blanco was quite polite: "There will definitely be a chance. Maybe one day you will go to the Cannes Film Festival."

He thought for a moment, then took out his business card and handed it to Martin: "Seven o'clock in the evening, Festival Theater, right?"

Martin took the business card and quickly scanned it. It said the business manager of Europa Films. "Yes, 7pm." He smiled and said, "Please wait a moment."

Martin brought out a formal invitation and handed it to Blanco with both hands: "It would be a great honor for the crew if you could come."

Blanco took the invitation, shook hands with Martin, and then said goodbye and left.

Not far from the exhibition area, he found a secluded place, took out his cell phone, called Michelle, said hello and said, "I'm in Savannah, and I just met an interesting person. He said he is your friend, an actor, Martin Davis from Atlanta."

Michel Gondry said: "He is indeed a friend, a very nice person, a great actor, and he longs to come to France."

Blanco received many invitations today. After hanging up the phone with Michel Gondry, he thought about it for a moment and decided to go watch the movie "Zombie Gigolo" in the evening.

Inside the exhibition area, Kelly came over and asked, "Important person?"

Martin handed her his business card: "He's a buyer for Europa Films. From what he said, he's a fellow countryman and friend of Michel Gondry."

Kelly immediately thought: "You made friends with Michel Gondry, did you use it?"

Martin said: "It should work. I think he should attend the screening tonight.

Kelly turned to Ella and said, "Arrange the VIP seats."

Ella responded.

Kelly then said to Martin, "One more buyer means one more hope of selling it."

Martin quietly squeezed Kelly's hand, and his voice was filled with undisguised concern: "Don't put too much pressure on yourself, you've done an excellent job."

Kelly turned her hand over and pinched his fingers: "You have a lot of ideas, come up with a good one for me."

Martin spread his hands helplessly: "Next we have to compete with each other in terms of hard power. My bad ideas will only hinder us and make things worse."

Although he had studied film sales and marketing in the United States for some time, Martin felt that he only understood the basics and it would be better to say less about the specific business matters.

In the afternoon, Sofia and Vincent rushed over from Atlanta to attend the screening.

Kelly Gray just greeted Sophia and Vincent politely and didn't have much contact with them.

Also coming here were all the members of the Bison House Club.

Bruce said to Martin, "The boss specially closed the shop today so that we can watch a movie together."

Hart came over and said, "Old Bull, this movie has nothing to do with you. I asked you to show up, but you didn't listen."

Bruce said, "I am a dirty worker."

Hart understood what he meant and turned to ask Martin: "Dad Martin, have you seen the sample film? How did I perform?"

Martin said: "He died miserably. He was beaten to death by Catherine."

At five o'clock, Sofia generously invited all the crew members to have dinner at a nearby luxurious buffet restaurant.

The dinner was very sumptuous, but Martin only had a small taste.

The screening crew was going to go on stage, so he specially rented tuxedos, which fit him perfectly.

It is also compulsory for actors to control their diet in advance when attending important occasions.
