Chapter 59: Hiding in a Formation

Chapter 59: Hiding for a while

At ten o'clock in the morning, Martin, Elena, Wood and others came out of the West City Police Station and gathered at the door.

"Is it not difficult for you?" Wood asked.

Martin was very calm: "We were acting in self-defense and are registered members of the Neighborhood Alliance Patrol." He looked around and lowered his voice: "Black police officers are a minority after all."

Nani said: "Martin, your shot was really accurate. That black...that idiot, don't think you can poop normally for the next few months."

Martin knew how to get along with these people, and he boasted: "If I wasn't so young in 96, I would have won an Olympic shooting gold medal no matter what."

Elena said, "Unless the targets are all butt-shaped!"

People from the community burst into laughter.

"Guys, you didn't sleep well last night because of me." Martin knew how to behave, so he said loudly, "At noon, at Clayton's Bar, I'll treat you. Plenty of beer."

He saw the bar owner: "Reese, big business is coming, hurry up and open the door."

Nani gave Martin a thumbs up and said, "You are a nice guy!"

Martin said to Wood: "Call those who didn't come to the police station. Don't leave any guy behind."

Wood pulled out his cell phone to make a call.

The group went to a bar near the community. Martin asked Elena to drive, and he called Old Bull and asked him to come out for a drink.

Elena asked, "What exactly happened?"

Martin thought for a moment and said, "That bastard came after me. What can I say? The sequelae of making money. When I was in the Beast House, I won two high bonuses. The club's customer flow increased dramatically, affecting the black bar across the street. He is the owner of the black bar and a trafficker from South City."

Elena said: "You promised me not to touch those things."

"No, I have never touched him. I am not compatible with drug gangs! I just found out that I reported one of his subordinates." Martin roughly described what happened in the past two days: "There is an important role in Gray Company, and I am one of the candidates. That guy is worried that I will threaten him and wants to frame me. According to what Boyet said, that idiot has a relationship with a black bar..."

Elena only said one sentence: "The entertainment industry is so fucking bad."

Martin held up three fingers and said, "Someone told me that there are three worst, darkest, and most stinky circles in the United States: Hollywood, the New York financial circle, and the Washington political circle. Compared to the latter two, Hollywood can barely rank third."

When we arrived at the bar, Reese had already opened the door and about twenty or thirty people were gathered in the bar drinking.

A regular dark beer and some snacks don't cost that much.

Martin's actions won unanimous applause.

Several men sat together and boasted, dirty jokes were flying everywhere, and some even made fun of Martin and Elena.

Elena drank two glasses and prepared to go back.

Martin ordered a few snacks and asked Elena to take them back: "Give one more to Hall. This idiot is good at digging traps. He can trap his own family members and bad guys."

Not long after Elena left, Bruce walked into the bar with a tired look on his face.

Martin called him over, asked for a beer, and asked, "Are you tired?"

Bruce took a big sip of beer and ate a piece of chocolate. "I went to Savannah and just got back this morning."

Martin casually asked, "To do something shitty?"

Bruce said simply, "There was a problem with a shipment of avocados from Mexico, and I went to help."

"Something happened last night. Boyet, the owner of the black bar opposite the club, suddenly came to the community with a few black people to attack me..." Martin told the story roughly.

"I haven't been in the club these two days. Wait a minute, I'll call and ask." Bruce took out his cell phone, found a secluded place, and made several calls in a row. The last call was to Lynch. After he understood the situation clearly, he hung up.

He came back and said to Martin: "Adam Smith got the goods from Boyet. The DEA raided the black bar the night before yesterday and arrested everyone except Boyet. Maybe Adam Smith mentioned you to Boyet, and Boyet wanted revenge." Martin nodded: "I shot Boyet in the ass."

Bruce clinked glasses with him: "You are such a civilized man." He still praised: "You are a good shot."

Martin told the truth: "It was a dark night, the target was a black man, and it had nothing to do with marksmanship."

Bruce smiled: "Good luck."

Martin took a sip of his drink: "Three more black people got away."

Bruce had just specifically asked: "My friend in the DEA said that they are all members of the black gangs in the South City. These guys are not informants for the DEA, CIA, or FBI. They have been jumping around a lot recently, and the DEA will soon wipe them out."

Martin thought for a moment, "Kill all the uncontrolled goods and personnel?"

Bruce said vaguely: "They sell a lot of goods, which naturally affects the interests of others."

Martin had seen some rumors that behind those large traffickers, there was always the shadow of the DEA or CIA, especially the latter.

Bruce added, "Old Black has a general problem with his brain. When he gets impulsive, he does whatever he wants and always does bad things that normal people can't understand. The DEA will conduct a crackdown on the South City gangs, and this will take time."

He advised: "Martin, you and Elena had better leave the community and live somewhere else for a while. Once the DEA gets rid of the key personnel, the matter will be over."

Martin had just played with Happy America last night and fired more than ten shotgun shells. He listened to what Old Bull said: "I'll go back and talk to Elena about finding an excuse to go on a trip. We'll move out of Clayton tonight and stay in a hotel for a few days."

Lily and Hall were about to have their summer vacation, so it was no problem for them to leave school a few days early.

Bruce said, "If those black men touch the DEA's cake, it will be over in a week at most."

"Old Bull, given our relationship, I won't say thank you." Martin turned to another topic: "If possible, I would like to express my gratitude to your friend in the DEA in person."

Bruce ordered another beer. "You're a piece of shit, you're the best at building relationships. You don't need to worry about him, and there's no need to thank him. He served with me in England."

Martin immediately had a guess: "Were they friends who had fought against the British together?"

Bruce nodded slightly.

Martin gave a thumbs up: "This is a strong relationship!"

The beer party lasted until after 1 o'clock, and everyone left one after another. Martin paid the bill, said goodbye to Old Bush, and returned to the community.

Elena is looking at job postings in the newspaper, trying to find a job as a bartender.

Some contact information is written down in the notebook next to it.

Martin came in, sat on the sofa, and asked her to sit next to him: "I may have caused you some trouble. The people who came at me last night were from the black gang in South City."

He explained the situation again: "Here's what I thought. Lily and Hall will have their summer vacation soon. I'll find a fun resort hotel for you to stay in and relax for a week. If you want to go on a trip, that's fine too..."

Lily ran out of the room: "Let's go to a resort hotel! I've wanted to go to a resort for a long time."

Martin glared.

Elena was ready to make a move.

"I'm done. You don't have to do anything." Lily raised her fist and hit herself in the face.

Elena wanted to consider the safety of Lily and Hall: "Go to the resort hotel."

Martin called Hall and Harris out and asked them to pack their things. He found the contact information of a hotel and booked a house near a lakeside resort in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Afterwards, he called Mr. Wood and others and said that he wanted to take advantage of Lily and Hall's summer vacation to go on a road trip.
