Chapter 52 The industry is too competitive

Ford drove into the parking area, Martin locked the car door and walked towards the studio. In the huge automobile production center, only the factory building converted into a studio was popular.

Robert was carrying a basket of potatoes to the dining car. Seeing that he was struggling, Martin quickened his pace to help.

"Huh...Huh, I'm so tired." Robert panted heavily.

After putting the potatoes away, Martin brought two bottles of water over and stuffed one into his hand: "Why are you alone?"

Robert said: "Mary Jane came, and the crew set aside time for a group photo, and they all went." He gestured at his face: "I have a big face, so I am not interested in a big face."

Hearing the word big, Martin suddenly thought of Old Bull and asked, "Is her back big?"

Robert was curious: "You like the big one at the back? You should go find Kate Winslet."

Martin said, "Man, you see things clearly."

"By the way, I reminded Rosa." Robert felt that the reason for introducing Martin out of politeness that day was: "I told her that you have a girlfriend."

They didn't have dinner that day. On the way, Rosa kept asking Robert questions. As an old background artist, Robert knew what she meant, so he made an excuse and left quickly.

Martin walked towards a makeup trailer, "Thanks."

The crew had not yet entered the working state and there was no one around. Martin knocked gently on the trailer door and Kate Winslet's assistant opened the door.

"Penny, I'm looking for Kate," he said.

Kate Winslet's voice came out: "Let Martin in."

Martin got on the trailer and saw Kate sitting in a chair reading a newspaper. He said, "A friend of mine is a big fan of yours and wants an autographed photo."

Kate smiled and said, "You choose."

Starting with Ruth, this has become a normal thing and she always brings some with her when she goes out.

Penny brought over an album and let Martin choose by himself.

Martin flipped through two pages and found a photo of Kate leaning forward with her hands on the table. He said, "This is it."

Kate took it and signed her name quickly.

"Thank you. I'll treat you to a drink when you're free." Martin put the photo away and planned to give it to Old Bu.

Kate asked, "I heard from Louise that you can make a cocktail that expands and hits first, followed by a rich and beautiful flavor?"

Martin couldn't figure out whether she was talking about wine or something else, so he could only respond: "Louise and I tried out the recipe together."

Kate is looking forward to it: "I'll try it someday when I have time."

As soon as Martin came out of the trailer, he saw Robert's big head again.

The guy was carrying two large bags of discarded beverage bottles and was walking with great difficulty. He shouted, "Martin, help me."

Martin went over to take the next bag and asked, "Where to?"

“Shh—” Robert looked around and lowered his voice: “The crew doesn’t want these things, I put them away and hid them. I can exchange them for money later.”

Martin had just escaped from extreme poverty and knew how difficult life was for the poor. He suddenly realized, "So, you were doing odd jobs on the crew, specifically looking after food and beverages?"

Robert reminded in a low voice: "Don't talk nonsense, walk lightly, and move quickly. If other extras see you, I won't be able to do this business anymore."

Martin finally understood. Last time when Ma Zhen was in the crew, Robert took the initiative to move the drinks, and it was still the same now.

The automobile production center was very spacious, with few places to hide things. Most of the factory buildings were locked, except for one whose door was broken.

…………

The crew thoughtfully left time for group photos, and many people ran to see Mary Jane.

Rosa also wanted to go, but was stopped by Adam Smith.

This was someone Adam Smith had specifically chosen. The two had come into contact before, and he knew what kind of person he was.

"Excuse me for a few minutes, can we find a place to chat?" The handsome face of the blond and blue-eyed Adam Smith was sunny.

Rosa paused: "I have nothing to talk to you about."

Adam Smith took out a notebook from his backpack and threw it to her: "Take a look."

Rosa was confused, so she flipped through the script and saw a dozen pages of script with Benjamin Calvin's signature on them. "What does that mean?"

Adam Smith said, "Grey's new play, Director Benjamin is going to make a theatrical movie. I am the male lead and my boss gave me part of the script. You should know that I am the first choice for the male lead in Grey's late night play. If you are willing, I can recommend you to play the supporting actress."

Rosa roughly flipped through the script, handed it back to Adam, and said bluntly: "Where are we going? You lead the way."

There were too many people here to talk, so Adam Smith chose a small path between two factories and turned in. There was no one behind the corner, only the whistling sound of the broken glass in the factory building blown by the wind.

There is also the sound of cans and plastic bottles rolling.

Rosa came over, unbuckled her belt without saying anything, pointed at her head and legs, and asked, "First up, then down?"

Adam Smith told Rosa to pull up her pants quickly: "Now is not the time, let's not talk about this."

"What do you want?" Rosa didn't believe that Adam Smith gave her this gift for free.

Adam Smith did not say it directly, but asked: "Martin Davis rejected your offer, right?"

Rosa's actions these days were not secretive, and she did not deny: "He has a girlfriend."

Adam Smith patted the script in his hand and used his ultimate move: "A supporting actress in a theatrical movie."

"What do you want me to do?" Rosa asked, wanting to see if the deal was equal.

Adam Smith said: "Take a chance and grab a cup or bottle that Martin Davis used."

Rosa said, "You can get it yourself."

Adam Smith shook his head: "I don't know him well, it will arouse his suspicion."

"What do you want to do?" Rosa asked.

Adam Smith said vaguely, "Send him something nice and help him out." Seeing that Rosa was interested, he further said, "If you play an important role in a theatrical movie, you won't be famous in the future. If you go the high-end club route or the Sacred Valley route, your asking price will naturally be several levels higher."

Rosa had nothing to lose except her body, so she said, "Adam Smith, remember your promise. I am a poor man with nothing."

Adam is not afraid of black people because there are a lot of black people behind him.

The draft was still blowing, and there was the sound of beverage bottles rolling.

The two men didn't care and left.

Inside the factory building separated by a wall, Martin grabbed Robert and motioned him to stay away from the broken window.

After walking away, Robert lowered his voice and asked, "Those two bastards are targeting you, let's go out and fuck them!"

Martin was thinking about more, like scripts and theatrical movies and stuff like that.

It was not difficult for him to think of the script in Kelly's hand.

The industry is too competitive!
The project hasn't even started yet, and that bastard is already eliminating potential threats?
Martin said slowly: "We reveal this time, will he do it again?"

"You know Kelly."

"Why use high-end resources for such a rubbish?" Martin shook his head. "If we use it this time, it won't work next time."

Robert, an old background artist who had seen a lot, said, "Man, you have a small head, but you are in the way of Adam Smith."

"He's also got in my way," Martin muttered to himself, and asked, "What do you do with my used bottles or cups?"

Robert has seen a lot of movies: "There's your biological sample on it. He goes to kill someone and brings it to the scene to frame you."

Martin looked at his big head and said, "I understand why your head is so big now. It's because there is an extra black hole."

This stunned Robert.

"They are all my lucky stars!" Martin had thought about it, took out his cell phone, and called a professional: "Old Bull, I have a problem, and I need your help, you stinky piece of shit."

“I’m not free!”

"Don't worry, there's something good this time." Martin quickly recounted what happened.

Bruce said, "Good deal. Wait for me to come over. Let's find a secret place and meet."

Seeing Martin put away his phone, Robert asked, "Did you call the police?"

"There's no point calling the police," Martin said. "I asked a street cleaner to come over."

While waiting, he thought hard, especially about the bad things in the entertainment industry. Suddenly, he thought of one thing: how did the big piece of shit get in there?

Bruce arrived soon, and Martin met him in a cemetery near the production center and told him his guess.

"It could be very likely. Let's wait and see." Bruce said, "Help me get a pass that allows me to enter and exit the crew normally."

This was an easy matter, Martin asked Andrew to do it easily.
