America gains both fame and fortune

Chapter 34: Playing something more fancy

Chapter 34 Playing a More Colorful Game
There was a van parked in front of the Marietta Community Theater. Martin drove the Ford diagonally across the street, got out and crossed the street, and found Robert moving goods with many new faces.

Robert wiped the sweat from his forehead and called out, "Come and help."

Before Martin could speak, the window on the second floor of the theater facing the street opened, and Jerome waved down: "These jobs are not for you, Martin, come up quickly."

Robert muttered, "Is it fair?"

Martin patted his arm and went into the theater, where at least forty new faces were moving goods back and forth.

Jerome recruited a lot of new people.

Arriving at the head of the group, Martin's attitude was as good as before: "Head, here I come."

Jerome poured him a cup of coffee and said enthusiastically, "I specifically asked people in the industry in Los Angeles about that matter, and basically found out that it's a project jointly invested by multiple companies, led by Focus Features, and it's a romantic drama. It hasn't been officially promoted yet. It's temporarily called "Noon Sunshine of a Beautiful Mind" or something else. It's been filming in Los Angeles for a while, and will soon be transferred to Atlanta next month."

Martin tried hard to recall, he had seen too many movies in his previous life, and without action, the impression of love was almost non-existent.

His focus was not here. He asked, "What about the female producer Andrew mentioned, Kelly Gray's friend? Gray Company is assisting the crew with related matters in Atlanta, and it is very likely that it was achieved because of her. If we can learn about her situation, the troupe will have a chance."

This is also the focus of Jerome's attention. If the troupe cooperates with a real Hollywood crew, how many people will be willing to pay membership fees?
Jerome inquired carefully: "Her name is Louise Mayer, the executive producer of the crew, the owner of Pacific Pictures, and she is said to have participated in the investment. Yes, there is another piece of information that may be useful. Louise Mayer is a director of the LA Free Association."

Martin was not surprised. Kelly Gray had talked to him about Los Angeles and she was deeply influenced by Californians.

"Captain, you are really well-informed." Martin lifted him up at the right time.

Jerome couldn't help laughing: "Don't forget, our troupe once produced Robert Patrick!"

Martin realized that Jerome was likely connected to T1000.

Jerome added, "You are close to Gray's Company, don't forget the troupe." He vowed, "As long as the troupe can participate in this big production, Martin, I recommend you to be the deputy director."

The theater troupe is also an important channel, and Martin immediately stated: "I am a member of the Marietta Theater."

Jerome didn't mention the membership fee at all. If this really happens, would he still worry about not being able to collect the membership fee?

After Martin left, he went to the Marietta Library to borrow a public computer and looked up Louis Mayer, but there was almost no information.

Then he drove to a quiet place and thought it over.

"A Beautiful Mind" was invested with 2000 million US dollars, and this project crushed all the works of Gray Company combined.

Correspondingly, Louise Mayer also exceeds his current ceiling of Kelly Gray.

Martin believes that meeting people is more important.

And he had the channel—Kelly Gray.

The combined information obtained: the other party is a member of the Freedom Club; Kelly Gray mentioned that her good friend in Los Angeles likes to drink.

The latter is easy, but the former is a bit troublesome.

Hollywood has always been at the forefront of freedom and democracy, and has always played the most extravagantly. Kelly Gray finds it interesting that Hollywood may be just that.

Want to try something more fancy?

Martin had considered increasing sales of Beast House merchandise, a type of merchandise that was particularly appealing to liberal warriors.

It is best to cooperate with the social environment and public opinion.

We are once again standing against the Methodist Church.

But if you do it well, you can make a small fortune.

As for failure, it won’t be worse than it is now. At worst, I can just go on stage.

Martin calculated the time it would take for the crew to arrive, thought for a while, and called Buckley, a reporter from the Atlanta Star.

Facing the civilized people who gave him money, Barkley had a very good attitude: "Mr. Davis?"

Martin said, "Can you help me find out one thing? Who is the most hardline conservative leader in the Methodist Association? Has he been involved in any public activities recently? Can you find relevant information?" He added, "I won't let my friends do this in vain."

Barkley smiled and said, "Leave it to me."

After a few more words, Martin hung up the phone.

He checked the time, started the car and headed for the club.

The handsome men's group is practicing on the stage, and the choreographer from the Savannah Academy of the Arts is rehearsing a new tap dance.

Bruce leaned over the bar and asked, "Is your rich woman coming over tonight?"

"Possibly." Martin pulled a high stool and sat down to enjoy the dance. It did not involve any stripping elements, and the dance of the handsome boy group was actually quite good.

Bruce was careful to use polite language: "Are you ready?"

Martin, however, was thinking about what he had considered before, and said, "That's not the point, it's just a filler option."

"Filling?" Bruce nodded and said with a silly smile: "You have grasped the essence."

At 8:30 in the evening, Kelly Gray came to the club. Unlike the professional attire she wore during the day, she changed into a skirt and put on makeup, looking a lot younger.

After watching tap dancing for a while, Kelly Gray threw in a $20 tip and came to the bar.

"Good evening, Kelly." Martin came over.

Bruce took over all the work at the bar on his own initiative.

Kelly Gray sat in a high chair and asked, "What do you recommend tonight?"

Martin didn't answer, but asked, "Is there anything special you want to do recently?"

Kelly Gray thought for a moment and said, "I really want to go on vacation to the beach, but I can't let go of my work and responsibilities."

“Got it.” Martin opened the cocktail shaker and put in ice cubes, gin, blue curaçao and lemon liqueur in turn, shook evenly, poured into the chilled martini glass, and finally garnished the glass with a lemon slice.

The turquoise cocktail is like the pure sea.

"Love of the Aegean Sea." He did not forget to add: "As usual, it's my treat."

Kelly Gray sipped the wine slowly and said, "I heard that the Methodist Church attacked the Beast House for discriminating against men?"

"Shameless slander! I'm going to teach them a lesson," Martin said. "I've been reading the newspapers. Conservative public opinion is frantically counterattacking. The Methodist Church is at the forefront, openly insulting the Freedom Church and the House of Beasts, and even attacking us for sexism!"

He spoke confidently: "The club gives priority to ladies, isn't it? Isn't this the gentlemanly spirit that we have always advocated? How can this be considered discrimination?"

Kelly thinks it is okay and that ladies should be given priority. She specifically reminds: "Discrimination is very troublesome and a response must be made. If you need help, don't be polite to me."

Martin was very responsible: "Kelly, you can't lower your standards and participate in such a low-end battle. The scum of the Methodist Church is not worthy of it."

"Your consideration makes sense." Kelly nodded slightly: "Just go ahead and do it. Freedom will cooperate with you."

Martin thought for a moment, then said, "The Methodist Church will use slander as an attack. I...Kelly, I come from the bottom, so my response may be a little vulgar."

Kelly Gray thought for a moment and said, "Well, give me your detailed information. The Freedom Association also has male staff. I recommend you to become a part-time social investigator for the ATL Freedom Association."

Martin thought, is this a bit too much? He will never return from the road of freedom fighters...

At this moment, I can only respond: "Okay!"

Martin really wants to ask, is there any salary for part-time work?
But considering the image I had just established, I endured it.

The dance music suddenly stopped, and Hart stood on the circular stage, holding a microphone and shouting to the women below the stage: "Tonight there is a special show. The most handsome man in the House of Beasts, Martin Davis, who you all dream of knocking over, will be playing his acting debut!"

Hundreds of customers cheered.
