Chapter 25 An unexpected birth

Chapter 25 An unexpected birth
As the sun rose higher, the weather became somewhat hot, and Robert came to the set carrying a box of glass bottles of Coke.

After finishing his work as a background artist yesterday, he asked Martin for help and got a temporary job as a production manager on the crew, which would always provide him with some extra income.

Robert held the open box and turned to look at the filming set not far away. Martin was pushing hay into the stable.

The role was very simple and he could have handled it easily, but he didn't get the chance.

Why did Martin suddenly climb up? Robert couldn't figure it out. During the filming of the last play, he found that Martin even owed dues.

Jerome strongly recommends people who are in debt? Where is the fairness!

He wanted a line but no one gave it to him.

Robert came to the resting area shaded by trees and parasols. According to the crew's request, Coke should be placed on the table so that people can use it at any time.

He put down the box and found a pack of tissues.

While unloading, the idiot driver broke the bottles of olive oil and a lot of it fell on the Coke.

Robert's ambition is to be an actor, not a handyman on the crew, so he naturally didn't take wiping the bottle seriously and just wiped it casually with a tissue.

After the Coke was laid out, he picked up the empty box and left to help the driver deliver the ingredients for lunch.

Almost at the same time, the male lead Adam Smith and Kyle came out of the dressing room and walked towards the temporary resting area.

The latter had to shoot barefoot action scenes, so he simply wore slippers.

Adam Smith, who had dazzling blond hair, asked as he walked by: "Where is Martin Davis from? I've never seen him before."

Kyle got to know his polite colleague: "The idiot from the Marietta Theater is said to have lost Andrew's connections."

Adam Smith stared over there and said, "This name is familiar. I seem to have seen it somewhere."

"A gangster scum, he actually brought a gun to the crew and threatened me with it!" Kyle encouraged, "Adam, I'm your cousin, you have to help me!"

Adam Smith warned: "Don't cause trouble. If you don't know how to ride a horse, the crew won't use you."

Kyle was dissatisfied: "You are the leading actor who holds up the show, and the guarantee of the film's ratings on the cable TV station. What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of that idiot?"

Adam Smith pretended not to hear these words. It was Kyle who had a conflict with others, not him.

A minor supporting role with no conflict of interest with the leading actor.

A simple-minded idiot with strong limbs who can't even sow discord.

Adam Smith then saw a car, a black BMW 7, and said to himself, "The boss is coming?"

The BMW was parked in the distance, and Kelly Gray, wearing a white business suit, walked towards this side.

Kyle was the first to arrive at the temporary rest area. Seeing the Coke on the table, he took a straw from the box and reached for the bottle of Coke.

When his hand touched the glass bottle, the slippery grease made Kyle subconsciously retract his hand, and the Coke bottle fell over and rolled off the table.

The happy young man who had professionally trained in football subconsciously stretched out his foot to catch the glass bottle.

The heavy bottle hit his slippered foot, and Kyle let out a scream.

He sat down on the ground, hugged his feet, and groaned in pain.

Adam Smith came from behind and asked, "What's wrong?"

Kyle's face twisted in pain: "Help me call a doctor, my foot! My foot hurts so much!"

Adam Smith immediately asked the production manager to call a doctor.

The noise here alarmed the filming crew and boss Kelly Gray.

The crew doctor judged that Kyle might have a small bone in his foot that was fractured or broken, so it would be best to send him to the hospital immediately.

Director Benjamin Calvin was furious and almost pointed at Kyle's nose and called him a idiot.

Kelly Gray was also very unhappy. Not to mention the medical expenses caused by the actor's injury, what would happen to his role?
Kyle was sent away, and Benjamin got angry again: "I carefully designed a horse scene and specially selected an actor who can ride a horse and has decent appearance. What happened? This idiot broke his leg. What should I do? What should I do?"

Martin stayed in the crowd on the periphery.

Kelly Gray said: "Don't say angry words, solve the problem first."

Benjamin suppressed his temper, thought for a while, and said, "The scene that the idiot filmed before was scrapped. It's a pity for the circus that I carefully designed."

Kelly Gray asked: "Can't give it to another role?"

Benjamin explained: "We need a lot of panoramic shots of horseback riding. How can we find actors who can gallop on horses?"

The horse has been rented, and the rent is higher than the combined salary of the male and female supporting actors.

After this happened, Adam Smith couldn't speak for Kyle. He recommended Kyle, but the key to Kyle getting the role was that he could ride a horse.

…………

Martin quietly left the rest area and found Jerome: "Captain, did you see the sudden situation on the crew?"

“I’ve been here,” Jerome said.

Martin simply said: "Captain, I can actually ride a horse." "You?" Jerome didn't believe it: "Why can you?"

Martin said nonsense: "My family lived in Texas for a while and learned it on a ranch there."

Jerome had heard of Jack Davis, and he nodded in approval, but he said, "Don't you know Andrew?"

"You are my captain, the captain I respect the most. I dare not make the decision alone on such a big matter." As a supporting actor in the back, he took the initiative to ask the crew for more scenes. There is something wrong with his brain.

If things go wrong, there will be a fallout with the crew.

Martin would not make such a mistake: "The only one I can rely on and trust is you, the captain."

Jerome patted Martin on the shoulder: "Leave it to me."

Martin emphasized his tone, his face full of gratitude: "Captain!"

Jerome waved his hand, walked forward without hesitation, found Andrew, pulled him to a quiet place, and talked to him in private.

Not just for Martin, but for his troupe.

After Martin got a prominent role in the crew, the number of extras calling him and wanting to join the troupe increased dramatically.

After the two finished their discussion, Andrew saw Director Benjamin talking to his boss Kelly and hurried over.

Opportunity to show your face.

Andrew took the opportunity when the two bosses finished talking to interrupt and said, "Director, one of our main actors can ride a horse."

"Who?" Benjamin didn't want to give up his carefully choreographed circus.

After all, the rent is spent.

Andrew controlled his eyes and didn't look towards his boss Kelly Gray: "Martin Davis."

When Kelly Gray heard the name, she immediately thought of the interesting young man and asked, "Martin from the Marietta Theater."

Andrew said, "It's him."

Benjamin asked Kelly, "Do you know Martin?"

Kelly said: "A very interesting friend."

Thinking of that jerk, Benjamin laughed, "He is indeed a very interesting actor." He said to Andrew, "Call Martin over and ask the trainer to bring the horse to the arena."

In less than two minutes, Martin followed Andrew and hurried over: "Director, I'm here."

He then greeted Kelly Gray: "Good morning, Kelly."

Kelly Gray smiled at him: "You know a lot."

Martin said: "Poor people can only learn a little more."

Kelly Gray agrees: “Success comes to those who work hard.”

The trainer led the horse to the stables. Martin followed the trainer's instructions, changed into professional clothes and a helmet, and got familiar with the horse for a while. With the trainer's assistance, he rode slowly at first, walked around the stables once, and then started to trot.

Martin learned horse riding when he was a stuntman in his previous life, and he hadn't used it for a long time. He needed to get familiar with the horse and find his own rhythm.

After running a lap, Benjamin asked, "Two people riding together, can you control it?"

Martin had a bad feeling, but he nodded: "No problem."

It's hard to get it, so even if it's special, you have to grit your teeth and hold on.

Benjamin directly called the screenwriter: "Add the circus to Billy."

Martin's scenes had already been filmed, and his salary after the additional scenes was increased to $800 a day because of the circus.

Adam Smith was standing not far away. Hearing Benjamin's words and seeing Martin talking and laughing with Kelly after getting off the horse, he thought: "Small supporting role?"

At the end of the day's work for the crew, Martin got in his Ford and picked up hitchhiker Robert, preparing to return to Marietta.

Robert suddenly said: "I did something, don't tell anyone else."

Martin was curious: "What's the matter?"

Robert looked at the left and right windows and lowered his voice again: "I put those Cokes there."

"You let it go?" Martin remembered that he had told Robert that he could ride a horse.

Robert's face was heavy: "Yes."

"Dude, you don't have to take such a big risk for me." Martin suspected that this was not a coincidence: "I just recommended you to do a temporary stage manager job, but you gave me such a big reward."

Robert quickly denied: "No, I didn't!"

Martin understood: "I understand, you didn't do anything, it was that idiot who had problems with his hands and feet, it has nothing to do with you."

Robert spread his hands and defended himself: "I really didn't mean it! I really didn't!"

Why can't I explain it clearly?
