Chapter 221: The Beauty Trap Again
Chapter 221: The Beauty Trap Again
"What happened yesterday?"
At the beverage pick-up area at the film and television base, Shermer took a bottle of iced Coke, took a big sip, and asked, "You didn't ask him out?"
Pratt was helpless: "He is very busy. He had something to do last night. I can't force him to go."
Shermer held the Coke bottle tightly. "Find a chance to date him again. Be careful with your words so as not to offend or alert him."
Pratt patted his thick chest and said: "I am an actor."
Shermer finished his Coke and left.
Pratt wiped the sweat from his head and drank a bottle of Coke.
There isn't much else in Atlanta, but there's plenty of Coke.
Before he finished the bottle, a hand that was almost washed white reached out from the side and, just like recently, put its arm around Pratt's shoulders.
Mene came from behind and said, "Dude, the pressure is too much, are you tired?"
Seeing that the person coming was Martin's younger brother, Pratt perked up and forced a smile: "I saw Martin was busy over there, so I came out to take a breath."
Mene patted him on the shoulder and went to get a Coke. Seeing the black man walking away, he asked casually, "You've been whispering with the people in the next group recently. What are you discussing?"
Pratt's heart skipped a beat, and the smile on his face froze slightly, but it returned to normal in an instant: "You are talking about Shermer, he is from Atlanta, I want to ask where the nightclub is fun."
Mene said, "Remember to call me if there's anything fun."
Pratt responded: "I will definitely call you."
In fact, Mene has been paying attention to him since Pratt started to please Martin.
When someone jumps out to snatch the boss' power, the younger brother will be the most anxious.
At noon, the crew members left the studio one after another and went to the restaurant for lunch.
Mene walked with Bruce: "That attentive fat guy always feels weird."
Bruce asked, "Are you worried that he will take your place? Didn't I tell you that the friendship between us cannot be compared to his."
Mene said: "No, I just chatted with him this morning and it felt like he was acting."
After following Martin and Bruce for a long time, he also realized that he was a bad guy: "Old Bruce, he won't collude with others and secretly sell Martin's news to the outside media, right?"
Bruce couldn't help but think of the lousy things Martin had done, and how he had cheated on his superiors and subordinates so many times. He said, "You should pay more attention to him."
This kind of thing is inevitable. Recently, there were gossip newspapers saying that Martin and Julie were having an affair.
But the crew denied it, and Martin and Julie also did not admit it, saying it was just gossip.
Many male and female protagonists in film crews have been involved in similar scandals.
After lunch, Bruce mentioned it to Martin. Martin didn't take it seriously at first, but when he was done with work in the afternoon, Pratt approached him again and wanted to treat him in the evening.
"You don't have to do that." Martin blocked the way directly: "I also worked my way up from a young actor step by step. I know that every step is not easy. You don't have to hire me specially."
Pratt wanted to say something, but for a moment he didn't know how to start.
Martin deliberately said: "I will help you if there is a chance."
Hearing this, some words almost came out of Pratt's mouth, but thinking of those videos, he held back.
Martin nodded at him: "That's it."
Pratt was helpless and could only say, "Thank you, Martin."
Seeing Martin get into the car and leave, he had no choice but to leave the film and television center alone, walk half the street, and get into Shermer's car.
Pratt quickly went through the details of the situation, explaining, "I tried my best, but he didn't go out to play at night, and there was nothing I could do."
He didn't want to continue: "Martin has said so much. If I invite him again, it will probably arouse his suspicion."
"We have to try another way." Shermer took out his cell phone and called Fred.
Fred asked him to wait.
A few minutes later, the phone came back: "The boss said to activate the second plan."
Shermer hung up the phone and said to Pratt, "Go back and find a way to follow or understand Martin's whereabouts and provide his possible location in time."
Pratt was slightly relieved. This was better than taking Martin to that nightclub in person.
Shermer gave him a few more instructions and drove him back to the hotel.
Not far away, Mene came out of a roadside cafe and called Bruce: "It seems nothing special. The fat man got into the car of his black friend."
At the Hyatt Hotel where the crew was staying, Martin went back to his room to take a shower and change into casual clothes. He checked the time and called Bruce to go to the Peachtree Hotel together.
Both sides are on Peachtree Street, not far apart.
Martin called Elena in the car. They had gone out to look at houses today and had just returned to the hotel.
Elena said, "Lily and Hall are excited and making annoying noises. There is a bar downstairs. You go there and wait for me. I'll take a shower first."
Martin said, "Okay."
In less than ten minutes, Bruce drove into the hotel parking lot.
The two entered the lobby. Old Bu answered a phone call and said a few words quickly to Martin, "Duke and Murphy found a car and followed us here from the Hyatt." Martin went into the bar, found a quiet place to sit down, and asked, "Who is it?"
Bruce's phone rang again. He received a MMS message. He opened it and handed it to Martin: "Fatty."
The photo was of a person who had just gotten out of a car. It was a bit blurry, but you could tell it was Chris Pratt.
"Why are you following me? Is someone telling you to do this?" Martin thought carefully about what he might have encountered recently: "Tyler Perry? Or is it related to the Russians?"
Bruce asked, "You got a gun?"
Martin had a gun license from Georgia and nodded, "I'll bring it."
"Let's sit separately. Pay attention, Duke and Murphy followed him in." Bruce went to the entrance of the bar and formed an angle with Martin.
Martin looked around carefully, took out his cell phone, called Elena, and told her not to come down yet.
Not long after, a tall, sexy girl with golden brown hair walked into the bar.
She sat at the bar and ordered a drink.
Martin glanced at her from behind and felt that her figure and back looked somewhat like Lily.
The girl took a sip of wine and looked around the bar. When she saw Martin, her gaze stayed there for a few seconds, then turned into surprise, and she walked over quickly in her high heels.
Martin put a hand inside his coat.
Bruce's clothes had a slight bulge.
Before the girl even came to Martin's table, she was already dancing with excitement, taking out her cell phone and waving it at Martin: "Hello, Martin! I... I am... your fan!"
"Hello." Martin said calmly.
He didn't believe a word of this, because he had said it countless times himself and was well versed in the intonation, voice and coordinated movements.
"My name is Lina, and I really like the summer with eyes across the mountains and jeans!" Lina raised her head and lifted her blonde hair, showing off her figure: "Martin, can I take a photo with you?"
"I'm waiting for a friend, so it's not very convenient." Martin has been working non-stop these days. He feels confident and speaks in a very tough manner.
All those things about women are just skeletons.
Lina didn’t expect this kind of answer, she paused for a moment, then smiled and said, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
She looked around and took out a tissue from the tissue box: "Can you sign for me? I don't have an autograph book..."
Martin still didn't follow the routine: "Sorry, I didn't bring a pen."
Lina put on a beautiful smile: "It's okay." She simply pulled out a chair and sat opposite: "I'm so lucky to meet you here, I can ask you..."
Something was obviously wrong. Martin had seen with his own eyes how Adrian was framed by Paris's honey trap.
Even if it's not a beauty trap, there must be other intentions.
Martin tapped his head.
On the other side, Bruce dialed the number with one click.
Before Lina could finish her words, Martin's cell phone rang. He took it out and answered it, asking, "What's wrong? Did Lily fall? Wait for me, I'll be there soon."
He hung up the phone: "Sorry, I have an emergency here."
The script was not right at all, and Lina had not made any plans in this regard. She could only smile and say, "It doesn't matter."
Martin walked quickly out of the bar.
On the other side, Bruce had already made a phone call: "Duke, pay attention to the blonde woman in the bar. Murphy, watch the fat man."
Seeing Martin, the two of them tacitly turned to the empty safety passage.
Martin said, "It's probably not the Russians, but they have problems." He asked Bruce, "Calling the police won't help, right?"
"It's no use calling the police. They didn't do anything. The APD can only take a statement at most." Bruce is best at handling this kind of thing: "I'll call Vincent and Sofia and have their people take action. The matter will be handled by me. You leave. What happens next has nothing to do with you."
Bruce decided to deal with it quickly by following the formal procedures as this mess would not last forever.
Martin said, "Please inform me if there is any situation." He remembered the man Mene mentioned, the black man from the crew next door, and reminded him, "Don't forget Pratt's friend."
Bruce nodded, took out his cell phone, and called Sofia directly. As soon as the call was connected, his legs began to tremble, and he forced himself to steady his voice: "Someone wants to take action against the project you invested in and make you lose all your investment."
With tens of millions of dollars of investment involved in the wanted order, Sophia didn't bother to tease Bruce and asked, "Which bastard is so bold?"
Bruce spoke a few words quickly and concisely.
Sophia didn't waste any words: "Keep an eye on them, don't let them run away."
Bruce turned out of the security passage and entered a coffee shop connected to the hotel. He went around the main entrance of the coffee shop to the side road and found the car that Pratt took from a distance. There was a black man sitting in the driver's seat of the car.
Duke's car drove over, and Bruce, who was more familiar with Atlanta, got into the driver's seat.
Neither Pratt nor the woman came out yet, and it was obvious that they were not giving up.
Meanwhile, at the Beast House Club on West Street.
Ivan and Golden Retriever each led three people out and shouted, "Hurry up! Hurry up! Go and support Old Bull. If you are slow, Old Bull will get his ass blown off!"
The guys grabbed their guns, got into two cars, and drove toward Peachtree Street.
