Chapter 20 Ceiling Level

In the morning, Martin came back from his routine exercise and went to Carter's house for dinner. As soon as he arrived at the gate of the yard, he heard a quarrel coming from the open door.

"I'm the daddy of you losers!" Scott Carter's voice was like a truck horn. "Who else should I go to if I don't have money? Your damn mother? Harris, don't hide like a coward. You still owe me $20 for using the cassette last time."

Harris said: "I didn't use your cassette, and I absolutely do not owe you any money."

"Here's $10!" Elena slapped $10 on the table and said coldly, "You can leave now!"

Hall was silent.

Lily replied, "We won't see you anymore."

"Shut up!" Elena yelled, "Come over for breakfast."

After breakfast, Lily and Hall, a pair of idiots, went to school, and Harris went back to his room to review his homework.

Elena put away the table and pointed at Martin’s neck: “Are you hurt?”

Martin shrugged. "I was scratched." He took out the check and handed it over. "Your reward."

She suddenly looked exhausted. "I also want idiot Harris to go to a good university, and I want idiot Lily and loser Hall to go to private school, but what can I do? I don't know anything!"

Martin drove the car, thought for a while, and said, "Learn a skill and find a job with a stable income. If you want to learn, I can teach you how to make cocktails."
