Chapter 479 One after another

Chapter 479 One after another

The mummy spun through the air and crashed down on the snake-bodied banshee, halting her advance.

The two forces clashed, and part of the withered body smashed into yellow sand on the snake scales, polluting the eyeball that the banshee Lamia was holding.

Lamia's eyeballs are filled with a large number of curses, which are both the source of her power and the source of her pain. So every once in a while, she will remove her eyeballs to rest, during which time she will sense her surroundings by the vibrations of the ground.

However, after the mummy crashed into her, the detached eyeballs clouded her vision with a yellow tint. Lamia screamed angrily, her beautiful face contorted in anger. She completely abandoned her previous prey, stuffed the eyeballs into her mouth, and then swam quickly toward Clayton.

Clayton wasn't one to cause trouble, but when such a sudden event was imminent, his hands always moved faster than his brain.

Wendigo could be considered an accident, the mummy could be considered an accident, but when the cartographer and Lamia appeared, Clayton couldn't tell himself it was an accident.

Someone must be instigating the Darkin to attack this area.

The origins of these beings before us are unknown, and each one could be a ruthless enemy.

Now that they have discovered him and are showing signs of attacking, he must not wait for them to make the first move.

Clayton was determined to kill everyone present who could be killed. He didn't need to bother with the various types of people who had different appearances and abilities. Although the shaman-like man had asked him for help, he had brought a lot of trouble with him. He had given him an enemy, so he was now qualified to become Clayton's enemy.

But before Clayton could act, the shaman who had narrowly escaped the hammer blows got up and ran away.

Clayton was busy dealing with Lamia charging towards him and had no time to deal with him. The cartographer, however, was very unhappy to see actors on strike on stage. It swooped down with a howl, forcing the shaman to retreat and stay next to Clayton.

Fortunately, neither the werewolf nor Lamia paid him any attention. Once they entered battle mode, they only had eyes for anything that posed a threat to them.

Clayton did not transform, and these monsters might not have the experience to recognize his identity. He was still trying to disguise himself and did not want to reveal his true identity immediately, also to avoid being noticed by the nearby Kongionai.

But this does not mean that he has become much weaker.

Putting aside his werewolf identity, he is also an excellent weapon user.

While using the double-edged long axe Mosquito Swarm Slayer, he had been studying the use of two-handed and polearms. He had formally studied spears in the army and had also dabbled in axe-spears, which allowed him to quickly learn similar combat tactics.

As long as you are physically fit enough, the use of a long-handled hammer is almost no different from that of a long axe.

It's even simpler.

The hammer doesn't need to consider the ridge; as long as the tip hits, it will cause damage.

Just like now——

The blunt end of the long-handled warhammer pounded into Lamia’s magnificent chest. Clayton did not precisely control the direction of the hammerhead to match the point of impact, but the heavy, dark metal still mercilessly crushed fat and broke bones.

With her vision blurred and two ribs broken, Lamia went berserk. She gave up on getting any closer and instead twisted her body to the right, as if to turn back. The next moment, her thick snake tail rose from the ground and lashed out with a whistling sound. If a mortal were hit by such an attack, his body would immediately turn into a sausage filled with blood, flesh, and broken bones.

The builder spun rapidly in Clayton's hands until the hammerhead was facing upwards, returning to the position of a cane. He pressed the hammerhead down with both hands, firmly nailing it to the ground in front of him, his body as immovable as a giant rock.

As expected, Lamia's serpent tail lashed heavily onto the builder's long handle. Half of its force was absorbed by the earth, but the remaining force still dragged three deep furrows, each a foot and a half long, into the muddy ground between the builder and Clayton's feet.

Clayton's hands were a little numb, and the long-lost feeling of weakness excited him even more.

This frail human body doesn't give him the same exhilarating feeling as his werewolf form. He needs more skill to defeat powerful enemies in battle. He has to be as cautious as when playing chess, using fixed resources to strategize and win through a battle of wits.

Rediscovering some of the joy of participating in competitive sports with a human body, he leaned forward, pushed off the ground with both legs, and simultaneously turned the Builder around, holding the long handle in his right hand and thrusting the hammerhead at the abdomen of the Lamia human female.

However, this most vulnerable part suddenly rose, and Lamia raised her serpent tail, lifting the fragile female body instead of retreating. The part that was originally at this height became the belly of the serpent's body. The builder's hammer hit the belly scale, which was as tough as the armor of a servant. Although it was enhanced by extraordinary power, this blow only caused the horizontal belly scale to deform slightly and bleed, rather than being completely shattered.

Beneath the scales, the snake's muscles are also highly elastic. Clayton's thrust was deflected after hitting the target, causing the movement to be slightly distorted.

Seeing the prey's weakness, Lamia pounced down with her raised upper body.

Then she tripped and fell.

It was done by a mummy.

All the creatures present were fortunate enough to witness the rare sight of a snake wrestling. The mummy continued to curse the earth, turning the ground into sand. The serpentine, who had been supporting herself solely on the ground with only the end of her tail and her powerful muscles, had not noticed that the sand had spread to her "foot." She lost her balance and tumbled to the side, snake and all. An eyeball rolled out of her wide-open mouth in surprise, rolling towards the shaman and once again becoming stained with the yellow sand transformed from the curse of the other creature.

Seeing that all the creatures were focused on Lamia and the mummy, the shaman, hiding in a spot barely illuminated by the moonlight, quietly picked up Lamia's eyeballs and stuffed them into his pocket.

After falling and lying on her side, Lamia took the remaining eyeball out of her mouth and put it back in its socket. After cleaning it with saliva, it regained its vision. Every kind of banshee is a creature with a strong desire for revenge. She shifted her hatred and, with this one eye open, charged towards the mummy.

The mummy's fragile body was pierced by Lamia's long, sharp, and deformed fingers. Then, Lamia stretched her arm and her prey high into the air, before forcefully swinging it down, throwing the mummy at Clayton in retaliation for his initial blow.
Clayton turned his body to the side, knees slightly bent, eyes intently fixed on the growing mummy in his field of vision. The Builder held his ear to his side, and when the mummy's ugly, shriveled body was close at hand, he hit it back with a home run.

This time, the banshee was prepared. She flipped backward and swung her powerful tail upward, sending the flailing mummy into the air, attempting to knock down the incessantly noisy illustrator.

Unfortunately, the mummy slowed its ascent after flying ten meters, and the draftsman flapped his wings slightly to avoid it.

As the mummy began to fall, it swooped down, grabbed it, and hurled this stranger from Maxley at the weakest superhuman on the street.

Although such attacks are powerful and heavy, they can be easily avoided as long as the landing point is predicted.

The shaman wanted to retreat a few steps to avoid it, but he saw a snake-bodied female demon with only one eyeball in her eye socket swimming menacingly towards him. She had obviously discovered that he had secretly hidden the other eyeball and had come to demand it.

He trembled, gripped the horse-head staff with both hands, pointed forward with the staff tip, lifted his right leg and stepped to the right, as if simulating the action of riding a horse.

The next moment, the staff in his hand suddenly let out a high-pitched neigh, as if an unseen tall warhorse stood in front of him and made a thrashing motion with its hind hooves. Otherwise, it would be impossible to explain how the mummy that fell from the height could fly up again at an upward angle and crash into Lamia.

Throwing and catching is a game suitable for all ages, but Lamia was clearly tired of it.

She was panting heavily, her exposed and damaged breasts heaving violently. Her deformed claws grabbed the mummy and split it in two, then casually tossed the two halves of the body aside and continued to advance towards the shaman.

The summoning maneuver was clearly not going to be used much longer, so the shaman turned and ran away again.

The celestial cartographer followed behind, circling in the sky, and swooping down to force the shaman to retreat if he dared to cross the battle zone it had designated.

The shaman had no choice but to turn back and charge at Clayton.

Clayton swung his hammer again, this time without missing the mark, but the many ribbons hanging from the shaman's robe rose up like the hairs standing on end before a lightning strike, forcefully blocking the powerful blow.

Although about a quarter of the ribbons subsequently lost their spirit as if they had died, the shaman managed to scramble and crawl behind Clayton.

Lamia stared at Clayton with her single, vertical pupil, her forked tongue sticking out and then retracting. Of course, she also wanted to kill him, but the hammer was powerful and caused her a lot of pain, and the mummy that restrained her was also the other party's prey. She did not want to get close to him for the time being.

With a flick of her tail, she swam at a distance from Clayton, trying to bypass him and attack the easiest target, which was also the first prey she locked onto.

It's not just about getting the other eyeball back.

That shamanic robe contained power related to snakes, something she had to obtain.

Seeing that things were not going well, the shaman urged his already sore and swollen legs to start running again, circling around Clayton to make sure that the burly figure was always between Lamia and himself.

The mad banshee and the shaman chased and fled, circling around Clayton incessantly.

Like two satellites belonging to the same planet.

Clayton stood in the middle with his hammer, watching two figures flash past him again and again, making him dizzy, but he couldn't ignore them, otherwise someone might suddenly attack him from behind.

He remained on guard for several minutes, but none of them made a move against him. They only had eyes for each other, which gave him the absurd illusion that he was an outsider. Meanwhile, the cartographer's screams occasionally came from above, which disturbed him.

After seeing Lamia's tail wriggle abnormally and point in the direction of his body several times as it swam up to him, he finally realized that Lamia seemed to want him to deal with the mummy that would affect the battlefield first. So he ignored the two guys and went straight to the mummy that had recovered and was walking back towards Cocoon Street. He then picked up the body of the deceased and turned to walk towards the pharmacy, intending to complete his initial goal.

He was going to do this anyway; he didn't need anyone's instructions.

Clayton walked in a straight line, and the shaman and Lamia followed him, circling around. Following this trajectory, one of them was bound to run into the wall next.

But he didn't care; whoever survived, he would finish off the victor.

At this moment, the cartographer hovering overhead suddenly stopped its shrill summoning cry and instead let out a series of strange laughs, clearly having attracted a new guest.
