Chapter 287 They Are Not Grateful, They Are Just Afraid

Chapter 287 They Are Not Grateful, They Are Just Afraid

In the middle of the night, in a cemetery outside the town.

There are two new graves at the edge of the cemetery.

Because of the rush of time, there was no tombstone in front of the grave, only a wooden cross.

On the cross, two black hats were hung, which were the ones Morgan and Virgil wore most often during their lifetimes.

A dim lantern hung on a tree beside the grave, vaguely reflecting the faces of the two people in front of the grave.

"Wyatt, Morgan and Virgil deserve a decent burial. Maybe we shouldn't bury them in such a hurry." Holiday inserted the shovel into the ground and sighed.

"My father said to me, ashes return to ashes, soil returns to earth. Only in the soil can the souls of the dead find rest." Wyatt stared at the cross, his voice low and hoarse.

"Besides, I don't know how long I can live," he said.

Holiday looked at another pit next to the two graves and said nothing.

After Behan left, he and Wyatt knocked on the door of the carpenter's house overnight.

When they mentioned that they needed to make three coffins overnight, the carpenter thought they were crazy and was about to curse and close the door.

But when he saw the dollar bills in Wyatt's hand, he hesitated:
"There are a few ready-made coffins. Do you want to take a look?"

It is a normal thing for people to die with tombstones, so the carpenter actually has a few ready-made emergency coffins.

They hired several miners with a lot of money and dug three pits in the cemetery.

Two buried Morgan and Virgil, and the other was prepared by Wyatt for himself.

"When are you going to find Ike?" Holiday asked.

"Tomorrow." Wyatt put his hat back on his head.

This account will never end.

The next morning, Wyatt, fully armed, appeared in the grocer's store.

"Hansen, we have faced evil together and defeated them, so I beg you, fight side by side with me again, okay?"

Wyatt stood in front of the counter, took a deep breath, and said to the bearded boss.

Hansen stopped what he was doing and looked at the police chief in front of him, his expression a little hesitant.

"Hansen! Where's the broom at home? Damn it! Which bastard pooped in our yard?"

From the back of the house came the sound of Hansen's wife cursing.

Hansen shrugged helplessly towards the Sheriff: "Sorry, Wyatt!"

Ten minutes later, Wyatt appeared in the Old Oak Tavern.

"Joseph, I need your help. Ike attacked your tavern. Give me a helping hand and I can destroy them."

He said to the tavern owner with a glimmer of hope.

Joseph looked at Wyatt with sympathy and shook his head: "I'm sorry that something like this happened, Wyatt. However, Behan made it very clear that if I really follow you to kill them, then I will Get on the bounty list.”

"It's all over, Wyatt. You killed his people, and he killed yours. Bihan doesn't want the situation to get more serious." The tavern owner said to the police chief seriously.

Wyatt didn't respond to his words and left the tavern without saying a word.

He also found some people who he thought might help him. Some of these people had been robbed by "Corinthian cowboys" but were saved by him; some were retired veterans who were usually full of martial virtue.

Wyatt even tried using money to hire some farmers with guns.

But without exception, these people rejected him, and some were not even willing to see him.

At noon, almost no one passed by the town entrance.

Wyatt sat under the big tree at the entrance of the town, holding a bottle of wine in his hand and staring at the ground in front of him.

Under the scorching sun, a few ants passed by in a hurry, trying to carry their food to a shady place.

He was a little confused. Was everything he had done for this town wiped out just because of a gun battle with a cowboy?

But no matter what, this revenge must be avenged.

The Sheriff made his decision.

Be prepared to go alone, even if you die.

"Wyatt, you found so many people, why didn't you find me?"

A voice came from behind the tree.

Wyatt stood up and turned his head to look behind him.

Four people and four horses galloped over.

Holiday turned over and dismounted, smiled at him and said, "Are you afraid that I will hand you over to Bihan?"

Wyatt stepped forward and gave him a big hug, saying apologetically: "Old friend, I just want someone to collect the body for me."

"The residents of this town have never been grateful to you. They are just afraid of the violence at your hands." Chen Jianqiu said behind Holiday.

Wyatt raised his head, glanced at Holiday, and then at Chen Jianqiu.

"I met Mr. Chen on the way here, and he decided to come with me." Holiday let go of the police chief and pointed at Chen Jianqiu and said to him.

"Mr. Chen, are you sure you want to get involved in this matter? The enemies we have to face are not good people. There are many of them." Wyatt looked at Chen Jianqiu and said,
"There must be revenge. If the law cannot solve the problem, we use guns." Chen Jianqiu patted Winchester on his horse. "No matter who wants those gangsters to pay the price, I, Chen Jianqiu, will definitely help."

Wyatt, Holiday, including Hanif and Sean behind Chen Jianqiu, all laughed.

The five of them got on their horses and galloped towards the wasteland.

"Where can we find Ike?" Sean asked on the horse.

"I know some strongholds of the Corinthian Cowboys. The factions within their gang are relatively complicated. I'm not sure where he is now." Wyatt replied.

"Then ask each stronghold one by one." Chen Jianqiu said. Hansbrugge Ranch is located in the south of Tombstone Town, just a stone's throw away from the border.

The pasture here is not very good, so the original owner of the pasture has abandoned it long ago.

The ranch now belongs to a gang of horse thieves.

They used it as a base from which to transport stolen horses from all over Arizona, and then transport them to New Mexico or directly out of the country.

No new horses were delivered today, and the seven or eight people guarding the pasture were bored, hiding under the barn, drinking and bragging.

"Hey, did you hear that? That kid Ike killed the police officer in this town."

"Who did you listen to?"

"I was drinking in town last night, and then I heard gunshots outside. I ran out and saw that idiot Virgil lying on the ground."

"You didn't give him a shot? I've been unhappy with that guy for a long time. He should have died long ago, as well as his brother, Deputy Sheriff Wyatt."

"No matter where he was, he was dead. With five or six guns waiting for him, he was beaten into a hornet's nest."

"Then Wyatt can just let it go? That guy is a vengeful guy. Ike is in bad luck now."

"Hey, what does it have to do with us whether they die or not? Let's just watch the show."

……

A group of Corinthian cowboys were drinking beer in a barn and listening to a guy in a yellow denim vest blow his trumpet.

They didn't seem to mind the pungent smell in the barn at all and were having a great time boasting.

"Hey, look who that is?" a cowboy who was drinking from his glass with his neck tilted back suddenly said.

He pointed not far away.

There were several people on horseback galloping towards them, raising a cloud of dust behind them.

"I can't see clearly. I don't remember anyone coming here today?" The man in the yellow vest stopped bragging and narrowed his eyes.

He was the leader of this gang, and he had no idea that he had made an appointment with the horse seller to come today.

"Could they be from the anti-smuggling team?" said another cowboy.

Everyone became nervous, and some of them started to go to the barn to get their rifles.

"One, two, three, four, five."

When the men came closer, a cowboy counted the number of people and shouted at them: "Who are you?"

However, what answered him was a bullet.

Wyatt raised his hand and fired a shot, knocking the person who was shouting to the ground.

"There are enemies!"

The gang members in the barn raised their guns as soon as they realized they were being attacked.

The gunshots rang out over the ranch like firecrackers.

However, the engagement lasted less than thirty seconds.

Chen Jianqiu and Holiday quickly cleared out the gang members on the ranch.

By the time the five men rushed into the pasture on horseback, no one was left standing.

The unfortunate guys were lying on the ground, and their groans of pain echoed in the barn. All the gang members in this stronghold were either dead or injured.

Wyatt got off his horse, rushed to a cowboy in yellow clothes who was holding his thigh, and grabbed him by the collar:
"Where's Ike?"

"Ouch, I don't know~" The cowboy closed his eyes and wailed in pain.

"I know you. Is your nickname 'Iron Dick'?" Wyatt stared into his eyes. "I saw you drinking with Ike!"

"I don't know, I really don't know!" The cowboy struggled desperately.

"It seems that we need to verify whether his 'Dick' is as hard as steel." Chen Jianqiu smiled.

Hanif picked up a nearby stick, swung it, and hit the cowboy in the crotch.

The cowboy fainted instantly from the pain.

Chen Jianqiu saw half a bucket of dirty water from an unknown time in the corner of the animal shed.

He picked up the half bucket of water and poured it directly on the cowboy's face.

"I, I really don't know, maybe, maybe it's over there in the mine!" The cowboy opened his eyes and wailed, not knowing whether he was awakened by choking or smoking.

The remaining survivors were tortured one by one according to the same treatment, but still could not find the whereabouts of Ike.

"Why don't you just shoot me to death!" The cowboy in yellow clothes yelled hysterically as his crotch was repeatedly hit by Hanif's stick.

Hanif seemed to enjoy doing this kind of thing, and the cowboy was beaten to death.

"Okay, I'll satisfy you."

"boom!"

The doctor shot him in the head.

Chen Jianqiu and his men shot each of the guys who were still alive.

"Let's go to the next stronghold." Chen Jianqiu said.

They let out all the horses that were to be transported from the barn and then set fire to the barn.

When they left, flames shot up into the sky behind them.
