Fahai, who had died once and refused an opportunity to become a Buddha, naturally lost his obsession with becoming a Buddha after coming to this world.
It doesn't matter whether you become a Buddha or not. What's important is to slay demons, transform sentient beings, and benefit the three realms.
Especially after fourteen years of traveling westward, he had truly practiced Buddhism and truly seen the suffering of the world.
