Chapter 977 The Winners of the Battle to Defend Windhelm

"Roar!" A gaping maw loomed large in Dos Anthony's eyes, and he instinctively raised his left arm and shield to block it in front of his face!
"Crack!" A tremendous force came, making Dos Anthony's heart tighten. Before he could react and swing his sword, an irresistible force was transmitted from his feet to his body, and the next second, a feeling of floating on clouds came from his feet.

"Damn it!" Dos Anthony thought to himself, never expecting that his carelessness would backfire.

"Crack!" The ferocious, blood-red maw was blocked by the shield, but Dos Anthony could clearly see the surging dragon flames brewing in its throat!
"An armored earth dragon!" Dos Anthony's face turned green. As a dragon knight, he had no contempt for dragons. Even dragon-blooded magical beasts with only a portion of dragon blood would gain superhuman strength under the aura of dragon blood! Not to mention the armored earth dragon, which was considered quite powerful among the sub-dragons!
For dragon knights, everything about dragons is illusory! Only dragonfire is absolutely real! This thing is not something that ordinary things can touch! Apart from a few high-level armors like dragon armor that can withstand dragonfire, other armor is almost useless in the face of real dragonfire!
"Boom!" The armored earth dragon, which was biting Dos Anthony, slammed its head against the pillar, making Dos Anthony, who was trapped in the middle, feel a sweet taste in his throat! The burning heat on his arm made Dos Anthony realize that dragon fire was about to erupt!
"Let go! Get out!" Dos Anthony exerted force from his waist, gathering all the thunder dragon power in his body into his feet and hands, and with a flip, kicked the earth dragon in the chin, and the surging thunder turned into a torrent.

"Roar!" A surge of dragon breath grazed Dos Anthony's scalp and flew out, instantly turning the castle's stone walls into flowing lava. Sunlight streamed in through the gap, adding a ray of light to the dim hall. Dos Anthony, with his back to the sunlight, carefully examined the behemoth before him. This armored earth dragon was far inferior to his own thunder dragon, which was awe-inspiring, but in this confined terrain, the armored earth dragon's destructive power was nothing short of inhuman!
"Awooo!" A jet-black heavy sword swung out from the darkness.

"Pfft!" Dos Anthony didn't even look and thrust his sword out with his backhand. The sword blade, made of lightning, spat out a long tongue several meters long, licking everything in the darkness and illuminating the orc's terrified face.

"Orcs don't have earth dragons! Where did you come from? Are you a mount of a noble from the kingdom?" Dos Anthony hesitated for a moment before probing in dragon language. After all, it was perfectly normal for an earth dragon to appear in his own territory! The Lagrang Empire, which was called the Kingdom of Dragons, had always had close ties with dragons. Even now, the Lagrang Kingdom was still teeming with dragons.

"Roar!" The armored earth dragon understood the dragon language spoken by Dos Antony, a superior being. Although low-level dragons cannot speak dragon language, it does not mean they cannot understand it. The armored earth dragon retracted its carapace and raised the thorns on both sides, and its eyes gradually became clear.

"Where is your lord?" Dos Anthony asked without further ado, seeing that there was a chance.

Now it was the armored earth dragon's turn to be in trouble. He looked around, then sniffed the air, before showing a human-like look of disgust. The air was filled with the stench of orcs, which almost made the dragon faint! He couldn't smell anyone else at all.

"...Keep an eye on the first floor! I'm going to find them!" Dos Antonidas, the armored earth dragon who had just woken up and was still looking bewildered after his morning grumpiness, reassured him in dragon language before shouldering his sword and passing him to continue his search.

"Roar?" The armored earth dragon growled softly, twisting its head in confusion as it looked at Dos Anthony with bewildered eyes. Its master had instructed it to guard the house and prevent strangers from entering, but why did it feel no hostility towards this stranger, but rather a sense of wanting to submit...

……

"Great! It's dragon's breath!" Everyone listened intently, then cheered in hushed tones. They all knew the strength of the armored earth dragon; any orc bathed in its breath at close range would surely perish. This earth dragon alone was enough to fill the orcs' blood pockets for a long time!

"Tsk! We were careless! We should have driven the armored earth dragon to the city walls to defend it!" Ismir sighed. In the urgency of the situation, everyone forgot about the armored earth dragon sleeping in the fireplace on the first floor. That huge fireplace was the earth dragon's nest, and the powerful fire immunity was enough to keep the armored earth dragon sound asleep by the burning campfire. Because the fireplace was burning, no one remembered that there was a huge creature sleeping inside.

“It’s not too late now. He’s enough to keep those orcs busy fighting for a long time. Take this opportunity to rest, my lord!” Ymir took the opportunity to sit down, lean against the wall, and started drinking from his water pouch.

"Leave some men to keep watch! The rest of you, take a rest!" Ismir nodded in a low voice. Who would rather die than live? If the armored earth dragon really got driven away by the orcs, wouldn't he have done a great service in defending the territory? He'd still be the Baron of Windhelm! "Those idiots over there are gone!" a soldier came over and reported in a low voice. The orcs who were digging to block the passage had given up for some reason, but for everyone, this was good news. At least they wouldn't be attacked from both sides!
"Go! Send someone up to the roof to scout!" Ymir suddenly pointed to the only light in the dim light.

“I’ll go!” Haro didn’t hesitate. He simply put on his helmet, grabbed a steel shield from a soldier, and, with everyone nodding in approval, carefully made his way up the stairs, shield in hand, gradually disappearing into the light…

"May the Dragon God protect him!" Ismir prayed softly.

……

“By the Dragon God… Oh! My Dragon God! Mother! My Baron… You should come and see this… My God! It’s magnificent… Hmm?” Haro exclaimed as he tried to introduce it to Ismir, until he realized no one was paying attention to him and then suddenly turned around, only then remembering that he had come to investigate.

In the distance, a massive blue dragon was unleashing its fury! Lightning bolts rained down from the sky, and as the dragon circled Windhelm, the entire Windhelm was filled with the screams and howls of orcs!
“We’re saved… It’s the kingdom’s dragon knights…” Haro murmured. Although all he could see were collapsed houses and crumbling city walls, there was no doubt that they had most likely defended their homeland. They and Baron Ismir no longer needed to live with the city!

"We're saved, sir! We won!" With that thought, Haro could no longer hold back his tears, threw down his weapons and shield, and ran back at the top of his lungs.

"Whoosh!" The sound attracted the orc archer who was searching on the castle tower, and the orc archer shot an arrow without thinking.

"Pfft!" Haro, who was running, stumbled and fell to the ground. Looking at the arrow through his abdomen, he opened his mouth, but could only let out a gurgling sound blocked by blood and foam.

"Bang!" Another arrow pierced through Haro's plate armor, and Haro twitched a few times, reaching out his hand towards the stairs.

"Damn it! Buzz!" Hearing the commotion, the militiaman poked his head out and shot down the orc archer who was playing around with him.

"Drag him back!" Several nature guardians, carrying shields, formed a circular shield wall and rushed out to grab Haro and drag him back.

"Don't die! Hello! Hold on!" Ismir's staff emitted a soft green light. Although the druid's healing wasn't top-notch, it was at least enough for emergencies.

“We…won!” Haro murmured.
