My 1995 Small Farm.

Chapter 899 Setting Sail

The next day, Chen Ling took his family to visit the Hong Kong friends who had visited Chenwangzhuang before.

Local specialties have also been delivered.

Everything that needed to be sent to Taiwan has been mailed there.

After finishing this task, Chen Ling settled down and took his wife and children to the beach to play.

Having come to Hong Kong Island, I haven't had a proper chance to go to the beach with my family yet.

Wang Susu took the children out to play, and she went with Liu Yinhuan and the others.

Women don't enjoy themselves as much when they go out without a man by their side.

We didn't dare go too far on the boat.

Chen Ling decided to completely relax for a day and take her family to truly enjoy the blue sea and sky of Hong Kong Island.

Knowing that they were going to the beach today, Wang Susu dressed the children in refreshing summer clothes.

Rui Rui is wearing a blue vest and shorts with a cartoon crab printed on it. Kang Kang and Le Le are also wearing the same style of little clothes that show their butts. They are so cute and pink.

Wang Zhenzhen wore a pale yellow dress, which made her look less mischievous than her usual self.

Chen Ling put on a loose linen shirt and sunglasses, dressed casually.

After several days of subtle treatment with spiritual water, Little Iron Egg was more energetic and its fur was shinier. It followed closely behind Chen Ling, looking around curiously.

"To dig for river clams, take a big boat!"

Rui Rui, waving her little shovel and bucket, was the first to rush out the door.

"Let's go! We're going to see the sea again!"

Wang Zhenzhen was also excited, as she really hadn't had enough fun last time.

Call a car from this branch office.

As the car descended the winding mountain road, the azure sea gradually unfolded in our view.

The sea breeze blew in through the car window, carrying a salty but refreshing scent.

Wow...it looks even more beautiful from this angle!

When the vast, boundless sea, shimmering with countless golden rays under the sunlight, finally came into view, even Wang Susu couldn't help but gasp softly.

Rui Rui and Wang Zhenzhen pressed their faces against the car window, watching intently.

Kang Kang and Lele also pointed at the huge blue area, babbling incoherently.

In the distance, the sea and sky blend into one, dotted with a few white sailboats.

Stanley's beaches are fine and white, with gentle waves lapping against the shore.

Although it wasn't as well-developed as it was later, it was naturally tranquil.

There aren't too many tourists this season, making it even more pleasant.

The children rushed to the beach like madmen as soon as they got off the bus.

"Wow! The ocean! I'm back again!"

Wang Zhenzhen was the first to take off her shoes, stepping barefoot onto the soft sand, screaming excitedly, and opening her arms to rush towards the waves.

Rui Rui followed suit, also taking off her sandals and wobbling after her aunt like a little penguin.

Little feet stepped on the wet sand, leaving behind cute little footprints, which were then gently smoothed out by the surging waves.

"Slow down! Watch out for the water!"

Wang Susu smiled and gave him instructions, then held Kang Kang in her arms.

Chen Ling led Lele by the hand and walked behind.

Kang Kang and Lele looked at the boundless blue sea and the white waves, their big, dark eyes filled with wonder.

Pointing her little finger at the sea, she cried out, "Ah ah!"

"Ah Ling, look at Kang Kang and Le Le. They've seen so many new things these past few days, they're almost ready to talk."

Wang Susu smiled and said upon seeing this.

Chen Ling squatted down and patted the two little ones on the head: "Is that so? Our Kang Kang and Le Le are going to talk."

"Come on, call me Daddy, call me Mommy..."

The two little ones just kept making "ah ah" noises, grinning at him, and then their eyes followed Wang Zhenzhen and Rui Rui, looking eager to get involved.

Seeing this, Chen Ling looked up and said to Wang Susu:
“Look at the way they look at each other. Once they learn to talk, the house will definitely be even more lively.”

"Let it be lively then. We have a small family, so we want many children and grandchildren."

Wang Susu didn't think much of it, even if the two of them were a little tired.

"Okay, okay, as long as you like it."

Chen Ling smiled helplessly.

Then he got up, took the Tibetan Mastiff puppy, and rented a huge parasol and several deck chairs.

Arrange the blankets, toys, water bottles, and food you brought.

Wang Susu carefully placed stones around the blanket to prevent it from being blown away by the sea breeze, and then let the two little ones crawl and play on the beach.

Watching Rui Rui and Wang Zhenzhen playing in the shallow water.

The waves surged in, washing over their ankles, cool and refreshing. Rui Rui and Wang Zhenzhen screamed and laughed, having a wonderful time.

Wang Zhenzhen quickly joined in with several local children on the beach. Although they couldn't communicate in the same language, they shared the same actions of digging in the sand and building sandcastles. They gestured and laughed all the while.

Rui Rui developed a strong interest in collecting seashells. He bent over and searched carefully on the beach. Every time he found a pretty seashell, he would run back to show it to his mother and father like a treasure.

"Dad! Look! A white seashell! It looks like a little fan!"

"Mom! This one has a floral pattern! Let my little sister wear it!"

Kang Kang and Lele looked at the "treasure" their brother had picked up and reached out their little hands to grab it, babbling as they did so.

The sea breeze was gentle, and the sunshine was warm, shining on the soft sand and on the smiling faces of the family.

"Alright, alright, you guys have fun. Stop teasing them; they want to go too."

Chase away those two little rascals, Wang Zhenzhen and Rui Rui.

Wang Susu held the babbling Lele, while Chen Ling squatted in front of Kang Kang, gently tapping her youngest son's chubby chin with her finger, her tone tender and encouraging:

"Kang Kang, come here, look at Daddy, and call him—Dad—Dad—"

Kang Kang stared curiously at his father's opening and closing mouth with his big, dark eyes, and his little mouth moved unconsciously in response.

He made an "Ah... Pfft..." sound, and saliva dripped down the corner of his mouth.

"Oh dear, I'm drooling again,"

Wang Susu smiled and took out a handkerchief to wipe Lele's mouth, then said to Chen Ling, "Teach them slowly, they are so young, it's good enough that they can make sounds."

"It's okay, that's how Rui Rui taught me."

Chen Ling didn't care at all, thinking that her child was very smart, and that she just hadn't specifically taught him before.

Continue to patiently guide them, "Kang Kang, Lele, Daddy... Mommy—Mommy—"

He turned his head toward Lele in Wang Susu's arms and repeated simple syllables.

Lele was more lively and active than Kang Kang. Looking at her father, she waved her little hands and suddenly uttered a clear sound: "Mom...Mom!"

Although the voice was not loud and a little unclear, it was definitely the sound of "mother"!
Wang Susu was startled, then looked down in surprise at her daughter in her arms: "Lele! You called me 'Mommy'? Say it again, 'Mommy—Mommy—'"

Lele seemed to be infected by her mother's excitement, and opened her little mouth again: "Mom...Mom!"

"Oh! My darling Lele!"

Wang Susu's eyes instantly welled up with tears. She excitedly kissed her daughter's cheek and looked up at Chen Ling.

"Ah Ling! Did you hear that? Lele can call me 'Mama' now!"

Chen Ling was overjoyed. She scooped up Kang Kang, who was trying to nibble on his toes on the beach, and held him high in the air: "Son! Did you hear that? Your sister can say 'Mommy' now! What about you? Say 'Daddy'! Daddy—Daddy—"

Kang Kang was lifted high by his father, but instead of being afraid, he excitedly kicked his little legs, giggled, and made "ah ah oh oh" sounds, but wouldn't utter the word "daddy." "Just like your brother, a little rascal, all he does is laugh!"

Chen Ling hugged his son and gently rubbed his little face with his stubble, making Kang Kang laugh even harder.

"No rush, no rush."

Holding Lele, who could already call her "Mama," Wang Susu felt as sweet as if she had drunk honey. "Kang Kang is a younger brother, so he's not as mischievous as Lele. When he was first born, he wasn't as strong as Lele, so it's normal that he started talking a little later."

"Our Lele is such a sweet little girl, she's already calling me 'Mama'!"

The sun was shining brightly, a gentle sea breeze was blowing, and the children's innocent babbling and the couple's joyful laughter mingled together, creating an incredibly heartwarming scene.

The weather is nice, and my mood is even better. All the fatigue and trivial matters disappear at this moment.

On the other side, in the shallow water, Wang Zhenzhen and Rui Rui were having a blast.

Wang Zhenzhen splashed seawater at Rui Rui, who screamed and dodged, then clumsily scooped up water with her hands to fight back.

The Tibetan Mastiff, Tiedan, was loosely tied to the frame of the parasol by Chen Ling with a long leash.

It lay quietly on the dry edge of the beach, watching its two little owners splashing in the water, its bright black eyes filled with curiosity, yet also a hint of helplessness.

"Tiedan! Come down and play! It's so refreshing in the water!" Wang Zhenzhen shouted to Tiedan.

"Tiedan! Come here! Ruirui will give you a bath!" Ruirui waved to Tiedan, just like his aunt.

Unfortunately, Tie Dan only flicked its tail and made a soft "groan" sound in its throat, remaining firmly lying down.

Its gaze would occasionally turn towards Chen Ling, clearly indicating that in its heart, Chen Ling was its only master.

That's just how Tibetan mastiffs are.

One recognizes only one master.

"Brother-in-law! Let Tiedan come over and play! We promise we won't bully him!"

When Wang Zhenzhen couldn't get Tiedan to move, she started asking Chen Ling for help.

"Dad! Let Tiedan come! Ruirui will catch some fish for it to eat!"

Rui Rui also ran over and hugged Chen Ling's leg, shaking it.

Chen Ling looked at the two little guys who were soaking wet from playing, and then at Tie Dan who was in much better spirits. He smiled and walked over to untie the leash.

"Tiedan, go, you can follow them into the shallow water, but don't go into the deep water, and don't splash around getting soaked, understand?"

Chen Ling patted Tie Dan's head and pointed to the shallow water area.

Tiedan seemed to understand. It stood up, shook its fur, and cautiously walked towards the sea with steady steps. It first tested the water at the edge of the waves, and finding the water temperature to be acceptable, it followed Wang Zhenzhen and Rui Rui, wading in the shallow water that was no more than knee-deep.

"Haha, Tiedan's here!"

"It seems to be just as smart as Erhei; it could understand my brother-in-law's speech when it was a puppy..."

Wang Zhenzhen happily stroked Tie Dan's wet fur.

Rui Rui also tried to hug Tie Dan's neck, but unfortunately he was too small. Although Tie Dan was still a puppy, his frame was already quite large, so he could only hug half of it.

Chen Ling watched them play for a while and saw that Tie Dan was very well-behaved, just following along without excitedly splashing in the water, so he felt relieved.

He picked up the small bucket and net he had brought and said to the children, "Don't just play in the water. Come on, Dad will take you to that rocky beach over there. Maybe there will be some pretty little seashells and crabs."

“Okay, okay! Let’s collect seashells!” Wang Zhenzhen was the first to respond.

"Rui Rui wants to catch crabs!" Rui Rui also got excited.

Even Tie Dan perked up his ears, seemingly very interested in the word "catch".

With a bucket in one hand and a net in the other, Chen Ling led two excited little ones and a loyal little follower toward a rocky beach not far away.

Wang Susu held Kang Kang in her arms and held the hand of Lele, who had just learned to call her "Mama" and was in a period of excitement, as they played in the sand on the beach.

Sure enough, there were treasures hidden in the crevices of the rocks.

With quick reflexes, Chen Ling caught several panicked little crabs in a net, and then scooped up a few transparent shrimps and a few colorful little fish from the shallow puddle.

Wang Zhenzhen and Rui Rui focused on searching for seashells and conches washed ashore by the waves on the reef. Every time they found one with a unique shape or bright color, they would shout with excitement.

"Brother-in-law! Look! This seashell looks like a small fan!"

"Dad! A crab pinched me! Ahhh, it ran away!"

Iron Egg sniffed warily in the crevices of the reef, occasionally scratching them with its claws, as if trying to find the "secrets" hidden inside.

The bucket was filled with more and more "trophies," and the children's laughter mingled with the sounds of the waves and the cries of the seagulls, creating a scene of pure joy.

After playing for a while, Chen Ling looked back at Wang Susu and the two little children on the beach.

Wang Susu was patiently teaching Kang Kang how to build sandcastles, while Lele watched curiously from the side.

Although the beach is fun, Kang Kang and Lele are too young to participate in many activities.

Chen Ling had an idea.

He called to Wang Zhenzhen and Rui Rui, who were still enjoying themselves, "Alright, we've collected almost all the shells and crabs."

"Come on, how about I take you on a boat trip at sea today? The scenery is even more beautiful from the sea!"

"Go out to sea by boat?" Wang Zhenzhen's eyes lit up instantly. "Is it one of those big ships with sails?"

"Rui Rui wants to ride a boat! To see the big fish!" Rui Rui cheered.

“Yes, let’s rent a boat and have the boatman take us for a spin around the nearshore. Maybe we’ll actually see some fish!” Chen Ling said with a smile.

Wang Susu was also very happy and played on the beach the whole time. The two little ones were indeed getting restless and wanted to take a boat out to sea to feel the breeze, which must be a novel experience.

Chen Ling had already inquired and found out that there were mid-to-high-end small cruise ships at the nearby pier that could take passengers for a ride around the nearby bay without going too far or taking too long, which was perfect for families with young children.

Once aboard, the captain, a dark-skinned, kind-looking middle-aged man, began to chug the engine, and the cruise ship slowly departed from the dock, heading towards the bay.

The boat rocked gently with the waves, and Rui Rui and Wang Zhenzhen clung tightly to the gunwale, feeling both nervous and excited.

Iron Egg didn't seem afraid of boating, or perhaps it was just naturally calm. After boarding, it simply looked around at the seawater with curiosity before quietly lying down at Chen Ling's feet, showing no signs of seasickness.

We left the dock and sailed into the deep blue sea.

The hustle and bustle on the shore gradually faded away, leaving only the sound of waves crashing against the hull and the howling of the sea breeze.

Hong Kong Island offers a completely different view from the sea.

The rolling green hills and the skyscrapers built against them gleam in the sunlight.

Wow! Our house looks so small from the sea!

Wang Zhenzhen pointed to the hillside villa area that was faintly visible in the distance.

"Ship! Big ship!"

Rui Rui, however, was more interested in the giant cargo ships sailing on the distant sea.

Kang Kang and Lele excitedly pointed to the fish fins jumping on the sea surface and the seagulls that occasionally flew by, and Lele even called out for her mother.

"Wow, Lele, you can say 'Mama' now! What about Kang Kang? Can he say it too?"

Wang Zhenzhen's eyes widened immediately, and she began to tease Kang Kang and Lele: "Kang Kang, Lele, call her Auntie! Auntie—!"

Rui Rui wasn't to be outdone: "Call me brother! Brother—brother—"

The two little ones are currently on the eve of their language explosion, and they respond with "ee-ee-ya-ya" sounds as their aunt and brother guide them.

Although he couldn't pronounce it clearly yet, his earnest little face made the adults laugh out loud.

Iron Egg seemed to find the atmosphere pleasant as well, its tail gently brushing the deck, its ears twitching slightly in the sea breeze, and its eyes squinting.

They seemed to be enjoying the voyage.

Chen Ling reached out and stroked its little head, and it rubbed against Chen Ling's palm comfortably.

The boat owner skillfully steered the small boat around the calm bay, admiring the scenery of the Hong Kong Island coastline from different angles, before gradually sailing away into the distance.

The sea breeze caresses my face, and my heart expands.

Chen Ling put his arm around Wang Susu's shoulder, looking at the children laughing and playing around them and Tie Dan quietly keeping them company at his feet. He felt that this trip to Hong Kong Island was definitely the right one. (End of this chapter)
