The Burning Heaven Emperor

Chapter 234 Xuanzang's Journey to the West

Chapter 234 Xuanzang's Journey to the West
Jinshan Temple is a dilapidated small temple located by the river, and it is also one of the few temples in the Tang Dynasty.Although Jinshan Temple is dilapidated, its scale is at the forefront of the Tang Dynasty, and there are more than a dozen ascetic monks living in the temple.

Whoosh! On this day, a ray of light pierced the night sky, flew from the west, and landed at the gate of Jinshan Temple.

"Wow! Wow! Wow!" Then there was a sudden cry of a baby, waking up the silent night. Jinshan Temple was instantly lit with fire, and footsteps came after a while.

A monk opened the mountain gate with a lantern, and the flames illuminated the baby wrapped in swaddling red in front of the gate. After the temple gate was opened, the baby stopped crying.

"It's really a baby. It looks like it was born not long ago. It's really pitiful. Since it was discarded in front of our monastery, then it is destined for my Buddha. We should adopt him!" One of the monks said distressedly.

"It's better to carry him into the temple first, and leave it to Master Faming to decide!"

"Okay!" Saying that, one of the monks reached out and held the baby in his arms, and then walked into the monastery.

The baby in front of the gate of Jinshan Temple is naturally the reincarnated Jin Chanzi. Avalokitesvara hid in the sky above Jinshan Temple. After seeing Jin Chanzi being taken in by the monks of the temple, he left from here. However, Guanyin did not take it lightly, always paying attention to Jin Chanzi's every move.

In the blink of an eye, 20 years passed quietly.Jinshan Temple has gone through several storms, and now it is even more withered. There is no one in the temple except Jin Chanzi, whose alias is Xuanzang. The monks who adopted him back then either died of famine or passed away when the deadline came.

Wearing a sackcloth cassock full of patches, Xuanzang bowed deeply to the temple where he had lived for 20 years, then resolutely turned around and left Jinshan Temple, and embarked on a journey to the capital of the Tang Dynasty.

Although the Dharma has been introduced to Dongsheng Shenzhou, it has only been introduced into some crude and rotten leaves, and the real Dharma scriptures of Buddhism have not been handed down. But relying on these rough Buddhist teachings, Buddhist disciples still bloomed everywhere in Dongsheng Shenzhou, and many temples were established, but life was not satisfactory.

Perhaps it is also because of the hardship during this period that Buddhist temples in the future are all good at raising funds by enclosing land.

Jinshan Temple has only been built for a few decades, and the temple is empty in the blink of an eye, and it will become a broken ridge and broken walls in a short time. The temples on Dongsheng Shenzhou are basically like Jinshan Temple, walking on thin ice, as long as they encounter natural disasters or even man-made disasters, they will soon decline and cease to exist.

Xuanzang has been practicing Buddhism alone in Jinshan Temple for more than a year. If Xuanzang did not have a slight reputation in the nearby villages, the news of Li Jimin's passing on the list this time might not have spread to Xuanzang through the mouth of the people in the village. middle.

Xuanzang wore a sackcloth cassock full of patches, relying on alms along the way, after a year, finally stepped into the majestic capital Chang'an City.

Over the past year, under the blessings of many Buddhist monks, Li Xiong's condition has improved a bit, and it is a great relief to be able to close his eyes and take a nap occasionally.Naturally, Li Jimin no longer underestimated the teachings of Buddhism, and even he himself believed in Buddhism.

Xuanzang was transformed by the golden cicada. Although he lost all his memory and started from the beginning, but after all, the Buddha-nature was embedded in the essence. He had already shown amazing talent in Dharma when he was a child. He became the No.1 Buddhist Dharma of Jinshan Temple when he was ten years old. , Shocked to heaven.

The appearance of Xuanzang did not attract much attention. A young monk wearing a sackcloth patched cassock was nothing in the eyes of everyone.Although Buddhism has been highly valued by Emperor Tang this past year, that's all.Above the temple, Confucianism is still the world.

Above the South China Sea, there is a fairy mountain called Mount Putuo. This mountain is the dojo of Avalokitesvara. Since he rebelled against teaching, Avalokitesvara moved Putuo Mountain to the South China Sea.

In the Luojia Cave of Mount Putuo, Avalokitesvara sits on a white jade lotus platform, practicing Buddhism and enlightenment. When Xuanzang stepped into Chang'an City, her tightly closed eyes opened slightly.

"It won't be long before Jin Chanzi will become famous in Chang'an City and open the way to learn Buddhist scriptures." Avalokitesvara said with complicated emotions.Xuanzang would have starved to death a long time ago if Guanyin had not secretly sent Dharma Guardian Jialan to send some fruits and miscellaneous grains to Xuanzang these years.

It is not easy for Buddhism to introduce the true Buddhism to Dongsheng Shenzhou. Guanyin was appointed as the protector of scriptures by Sakyamuni, and this burden is not light. Moreover, the person to escort Xuanzang on his westward journey had already been determined, and the relationship was quite complicated, which was also a thorny matter.

Xuanzang, transformed by Jin Chanzi, soon became famous in Chang'an City.Xuanzang's reputation became more and more resounding after repeated debates, and he became the well-deserved No. 1 of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty. This incident naturally alarmed Li Jimin, who was the emperor of the Tang Dynasty.

Li Jimin met Xuanzang, and after a long talk, Li Jimin was convinced by Xuanzang's Buddhist teachings, and became friends with Xuanzang for years. Li Jimin recognized Xuanzang as his righteous brother, which made Xuanzang famous , has the title of "Yudi".

One day, Xuanzang and Li Jimin were walking in the imperial garden.

"The poor monk heard that there are three Tibetan scriptures in the Western Heaven. One Tibetan can talk about the sky; one Tibetan can talk about the earth; one Tibetan can save ghosts. With this three Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, it will surely remove the demons in the mind of the Supreme Emperor, ease his pain, and let him Enjoy bliss!" Xuanzang said sincerely. "The poor monk is willing to go to the Western Paradise and bring the Tripitaka back to the East."

"Ah!" Li Jimin was startled. Although Xuanzang was profound in Buddhism, he was thin-skinned and fleshy, and his body was delicate. He seemed to be a person who could go to the Western Paradise to learn Buddhist scriptures. It was impossible for Li Jimin to send an army to escort Xuanzang to the west, so he never mentioned the matter of learning Buddhist scriptures to Xuanzang.Unexpectedly, Xuanzang took the initiative to invite Ying today, which made Li Jimin a little overwhelmed.

"Brother Yu is serious?" Li Jimin asked in disbelief.

"Monks don't tell lies, they really mean it! Namo Amitabha Buddha!" Xuanzang clasped his hands together and said earnestly.

"But your body is weak, and you don't know how many miles you travel from Tang Dynasty to Xitian, how can you bear it!" Li Jimin said sincerely.Although Li Jimin also wanted Xuanzang to go to the West to learn Buddhist scriptures, he was not an arbitrary monarch without a heart of benevolence and righteousness.

"With sincerity, the Buddha will naturally appear, and everything is easy!" Xuanzang said with a smile on his face. "Please Your Majesty agree to the poor monk's request!"

"Since Yudi insists so much, I don't have anything to say. I wish Yudi a smooth journey and obtain the Tripitaka as soon as possible!" Li Jimin no longer insisted, although he couldn't bear it in his heart, he still said righteously.

"Thank you, Your Majesty, for your kindness!" Xuanzang bowed and thanked.

Later, with Li Jimin's farewell, Xuanzang rode a white horse and embarked on the journey to the West alone.

Xuanzang's journey to learn Buddhist scriptures alone started smoothly. He followed the official road built by the Tang Dynasty, traveled all the way west, and soon came to the border area of the Tang Dynasty. When you get here, it's no longer a flat river, but rolling mountains and dense forests, it's not so easy to go.

Xuanzang had delicate skin and tender flesh, and his body was weak. Although he had suffered a lot in Jinshan Temple, compared with the trek through mountains and rivers and the precarious situation, it was considered easy.It was also Xuanzang who had a firm heart towards the Buddha, otherwise he might have retreated.

This clump of mountains is not something a frail monk like Xuanzang can conquer. Xuanzang has suffered enough to eat and sleep in the open.

On the border of the west of the Tang Dynasty, there is a towering mountain named Liangjie Mountain. This mountain is named Liangjie Mountain because it is located on the border between Datang and a small country. The two boundary mountains had another name before, that is Wuxing Mountain, also known as Wuzhi Mountain.

It is none other than Monkey King who is pressing down on the Five Elements Mountain. But without the imperial seal from the Heavenly Court, the name Sun Wukong would not be so resounding, and the origin is not correct.

Just before Xuanzang was about to set foot on the area of the Five Elements Mountain, Avalokitesvara came floating in the clouds, and disappeared into the mountain in a flash.

"Wukong!" Guanyin came to the stone room in the mountain and called softly. This stone room is not completely dark, there is a ray of sunlight on one side of the stone room all the year round, making the stone room bright and dark.

"Meet the Bodhisattva!" Sun Wukong's figure hidden in the dark slowly appeared, and bowed to Guanyin.

"The monkey head has been suffocated all these years!" Guanyin joked.

"The 500 years of meditation has made old Sun enlightened a lot!" Sun Wukong replied indifferently. These years gave Sun Wukong a great opportunity to meditate and practice Taoism, which made him understand a lot.

With Yuan Hong in front, Sun Wukong was under a lot of pressure, which made Sun Wukong embark on a completely different trajectory, and his Dao heart became more determined.

"Hey!" Guanyin sighed softly. "You should already know your mission, right?"

"Naturally!" Sun Wukong replied affirmatively.

"That's why I won't say too much. The man traveling west has already arrived at the foot of the mountain. It's time for you to go out and assist him to go to Daleiyin Temple to obtain the Tripitaka!" Guanyin said softly.

"The old grandson takes orders!" Sun Wukong replied calmly.

Soon after Monkey King was suppressed, Taoist Bodhi came to Wuxing Mountain on a cloud and had a long talk with Monkey King.As his only disciple, Taoist Bodhi naturally wouldn't let him feel resentment towards Buddhism and confessed everything.

The facts Bodhi said made Monkey King unable to calm down for a long time, but in the end Monkey King accepted his identity, and his attitude towards Buddhism was neither close nor cold.Taoist Bodhi does not insist on this, as long as Sun Wukong is willing to undertake his mission, then it will be the best result.

As a disciple of Bodhi Taoist, Sun Wukong is naturally a disciple of Zhunti. Compared with Avalokitesvara, he is of the same generation, but there is a difference in hearing the truth, and Sun Wukong still respects Avalokitesvara.

Avalokitesvara has seen the changes in Sun Wukong, and he is very pleased about it.

After Avalokitesvara came out of the stone room in the mountain, his figure changed into a woodcutter in a flash, and he went towards Xuanzang who was going up the mountain.

Xuanzang is now leading the white horse, step by step on a small path, slowly climbing towards the Five Elements Mountain.Xuanzang had a woodcutter who was chopping firewood coming from a distance. He was overjoyed and rushed to meet him.

"Brother, please excuse me!" Xuanzang shouted loudly towards the woodcutter transformed by Avalokitesvara.

"Hey! This is a monk from there. I don't know what advice the monk has!" The woodcutter said in surprise.

"Poor monk Xuanzang, what is the name of this mountain? It is so majestic and steep!" Xuanzang asked.

"This mountain is called Liangjie Mountain. It got its name because it is located on the border between the two countries. Before this mountain was also called Wuxing Mountain!" The woodcutter replied with a slight frown. "I heard that the Five Elements Mountain fell here suddenly from a high altitude 500 years ago. It was the Buddha who suppressed the monkey on this mountain in order to punish the mistakes made by the monkey."

"Namo Amitabha Buddha!" When Xuanzang heard that it was the Buddha's work, he immediately became agitated, folded his hands together and bowed towards the west.

"Monk, where are you going?" the woodcutter asked.

"Following the emperor's order, I wish the Western Heavens to worship the Tripitaka Dharma Sutras!" Xuanzang replied truthfully.

"Oh! This journey to the west is tens of thousands of miles away, and it is extremely difficult. Monk, you are alone, and I am afraid it will be difficult to reach. I heard that since the monkey in the mountain was suppressed by the Buddha, he has devoted himself to the Buddha. If you can accept him as Sir, he may be able to protect you all the way west!" The woodcutter said with a hint of joke.

As the saying goes, there is a heart in speaking, and a heart in listening. Xuanzang secretly remembered the woodcutter's words in his heart. It was less than a month after leaving Chang'an, and Xuanzang couldn't take it any longer. If he hadn't had a firm heart towards the Buddha, he would have given up halfway.

"Thank you, brother, for your enlightenment!" Xuanzang thanked quickly.

"Haha, if you want to release the monkey, you can climb to the top of the mountain and tear off the Buddha sticker on the top of the mountain, and the monkey will come out!" the woodcutter said again.

"Ah!" Xuanzang was startled, he didn't expect that the woodcutter elder brother in front of him knew everything, he was slightly taken aback. When he recovered and wanted to ask, the woodcutter had disappeared without a trace.

"Xuanzang, the journey to the west is extremely difficult. Although Sun Wukong is a stone monkey, he has a destiny with the Buddha. You can take him as a disciple and let him protect you on the westward journey to learn Buddhist scriptures!" Avalokitesvara's voice suddenly appeared in Xuanzang's in mind.

"Namo Amitabha Buddha!" Xuanzang was shocked, and hurriedly bowed.

After a while, Xuanzang's ups and downs calmed down, and he led the white horse and continued towards the top of the Five Elements Mountain.

This Five Elements Mountain is really rugged and steep, very few people can't climb it.But it was such a dangerous place that forced Xuanzang to come to the top of the mountain alone. After arriving at the top of the mountain, Xuanzang saw a golden Buddha sticker sticking to a boulder with a faint light of Buddha.Xuanzang was determined, and after tidying up his clothes, he quickly walked towards the Buddha post.

I saw that on this Buddha sticker, there are six gold characters written, which are 'Om, Ma, Nei, Ba, Mi, Hum'.

"Namo Amitabha Buddha!" Xuanzang came to bring Buddha stickers, clasped his hands together, knelt on the ground, and bowed.

boom!As soon as Xuanzang's words fell, the Buddhist stickers pasted on the boulder suddenly vibrated, and a golden light burst out, overflowing with auspiciousness. Then, I saw the Buddhist stickers slowly flying up, heading towards the west.

"Namo Amitabha Buddha!" Xuanzang was astonished as a celestial being, shouting loudly that the Buddha had appeared, and even knelt down to worship him.

Just as Xuanzang bowed down, a figure appeared in front of Xuanzang.Xuanzang noticed it immediately, and quickly looked up.

"Ah!" Xuanzang was taken aback by Sun Wukong's appearance, but although Sun Wukong looked like a monster, he gave people a sense of calmness, which made Xuanzang not very frightened.

"Sun Wukong, meet the master!" Monkey King bowed his hands to Xuanzang who was slowly getting up.

"Are you the stone monkey under this mountain?" Xuanzang asked in shock.

"Yeah." Sun Wukong nodded slightly, very calm.

"Since you got out of trouble, in the future, you should accumulate virtue and do good deeds, devote your whole heart to the Buddha, and don't make mistakes again!" Xuanzang pretended to be calm and said earnestly.

"It's getting late, let's go, Master!" Sun Wukong said softly, not wanting to get too involved with Xuanzang on this issue.

"Okay!" Xuanzang looked at the sky, it was indeed getting late.

Sun Wukong supported Xuanzang, and then separated a monkey body to lead the white horse, and then they went down the mountain slowly.

The less restrained and arrogant, more calm and indifferent Sun Wukong will naturally not be in trouble with Xuanzang, and it will also make the relationship between the master and the apprentice less conflicting, as plain as water, and the fetters will also be reached. If it is not as deep as the original trajectory, this nine-nine-eight-one difficulty will not be so easy.

In the original trajectory, the conflict between Monkey King and Xuanzang caused them to experience several difficulties. With Monkey King's disposition now, these difficulties are probably impossible to happen. And because Taoist Bodhi and Sun Wukong had a close relationship, Buddhism did not impose any restrictions on Sun Wukong. The current Sun Wukong is a real Daluo Jinxian limit level, one step away from the quasi-sage, and his cultivation is unfathomable.

The curtain of Journey to the West was completely opened with the meeting between Monkey King and Xuanzang.
