The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 88 The Calm Moon

Chapter 88 A Calm October

Just when the friends couldn't understand Ada's idea, other students in the classroom began to enter the swamp. No one wanted to miss this fun and safe thing, so they began to urge the students in front to hurry up.

The thick fog in the classroom gathered and dissipated from time to time. The students who were able to walk out of the swamp by their own ability shared with each other the illusions they saw and how they overcame them. Those who failed to successfully walk out stood aside dejectedly, listening to other students bragging.

Cecil was kind enough to allow students who had not passed to try again, but they would be placed behind students who had not tried.

Lee Jordan, at the instigation of Fred and George, went back to line up behind the crowd.

The twins told Li Jordan that he was the first to face Xinke Punk and there was nothing to learn from him. It was normal for him to fail. Now it was his second time and he was mentally prepared enough. He would definitely succeed this time!

Then Lee Jordan, as if he had been injected with chicken blood, lined up in a heroic and high-spirited manner, as if he was ready to rush into the swamp and capture Hinckley Punk alive.

However, the ambitious Lee Jordan did not succeed in waiting for the chance for revenge. Just when it was almost his turn, the bell for the end of get out of class rang.

Lee Jordan could only lower his head and follow everyone out of the classroom. The twins could no longer hide their smirks, and Lee Jordan, who was angry and embarrassed, got into a fight with the twins in the corridor. During the chase and play, Lee Jordan no longer cared about this embarrassing incident.

Back in the common room, the second years of Gryffindor were still excitedly discussing the content of the lesson, and the seniors also shared some of the content of their classes.

Moreover, in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class for senior students, students will come into contact with more and more powerful dark creatures, such as Kabbah, Gorindilo, Boggart, etc. These dark creatures make the younger students very excited, and they can't wait to run to the senior classroom to listen in.

The students think highly of Professor Cecil, especially the fifth and seventh year students, who will take the wizard level examination at the end of the semester. It is a great fortune for them to have such a capable professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

In October, the twins became busy. Although they still violated the rules and got deducted points from time to time, their mischief was much less than that in the first grade. It seemed that as they grew older, they became more "sensible".

In addition to these jokes, Fred and George still have to attend Quidditch training on time. Charlie looks easy to talk to, but he has plenty of ways to deal with the twins, not to mention that there is a powder keg named Wood in the team.

The two brothers didn't want to miss the training. After Quidditch officially started, they would teach Slytherin a lesson and deal with Hufflepuff where Cedric was.

Ada discovered that the twins would do some small research in their free time, and they recently bought a lot of products from the Magic Joke Shop. But the twins had been hiding it from Ada, so she didn't know what inventions the brothers were making, and she thought it was related to their hobbies.

After entering October, Ada was also very busy. In addition to attending classes, she also had to take extra tutoring classes.

From the first day, Ada was called away by Snape. This time, not only were there no three crucibles and a pile of small medicine bottles, but they also moved to a small room near Snape's office.

Under Snape's guidance, Ada began to make a potion that she had never learned before. The production cycle of this potion was very long. Ada had to go to the cabin almost every night to check on it, add materials, observe the progress, and make some adjustments.

In addition, Ada has to take care of her own things. She has to study and also find time to fight with the puppets in the basement room. She is very busy.

Although the days were very busy, Ada was still very relieved because there had been no unexpected situations in the school during these days and everything had been calm.

Even Grover Cecil, who had "tricked" her once before, did not make any move. The only difference between him and other professors was that he liked to ask Ada questions in class and would generously give her extra points.

Ada has been worried about whether someone would do something weird on Halloween, after all, the bad luck of last school year started on Halloween Eve.

Fortunately, her worries were unnecessary. No one caused trouble and no accidents happened. Everyone was enjoying the Halloween dinner in the auditorium.

After entering November, the weather became very cold. The mountains around the school were gray and covered with ice and snow. The surface of the Black Lake was as cold and hard as quenched steel. On Saturday morning, Ada woke up and came to the window with a cup in her arms. Looking out of the window, she could just see the huge figure of Hagrid. The gamekeeper of Hogwarts was wearing a fur coat and leather gloves and was clearing the snow on the Quidditch field.

The long-awaited Quidditch season has begun, and there will be a match today between Gryffindor and Slytherin.

After several weeks of training, the new members of the team were about to be tested, and Ada was worried about the twins and her roommates.

Ada and her roommates left the warm common room. The weather was sunny and cold, with some frost on the ground. The dining room was filled with the tempting smell of sausages and fried eggs. Everyone here was looking forward to the game that was about to start, and they chatted happily.

The breakfast was rich, but Angelina and Alia were a little bit unable to eat. The two girls were very nervous. It was their first time to officially participate in Quidditch competition. They were full of worries about the competition. They were afraid that they would not perform well enough, afraid of losing the game, and afraid of disappointing Professor McGonagall and Charlie's trust.

After a while, Captain Charlie Weasley came over with his two younger brothers. The twins looked in good condition, and it was obvious that Charlie had already counseled his younger brothers.

Charlie patted Angelina and Alia on the shoulders. He came here to comfort the two girls who were a little nervous, just like what his captain had done to him back then.

He said: "It's very cold today, you two should eat more, it can keep you warm and keep you strong."

The two girls nodded woodenly and put the fried eggs into their mouths, but they tasted like chewing wax.

"Don't think too much. All you have to do is throw the damn Quaffle into the ring, just like you usually do." Charlie continued to comfort the two. "The ring is as vast as the sea to you..."

The twins came over and sat down without saying a word. They took Ada's full plate and started eating. The way they ate so fast even Ada was a little scared.

"We need to eat more so that we have the strength to swing the bat!" said Fred.

"Send all those Slytherins to the school hospital and report to Madam Pomfrey!" George said gritting his teeth.

Ada did not blame the twins for snatching her plate. Instead, she took another plate, filled it with food, placed it in front of the two of them, and poured two glasses of pumpkin juice to prevent them from choking to death on the sausages.

When Charlie left, Angelina and Alia were no longer so nervous. They started stuffing food into their mouths like the twins, with their cheeks bulging like two hamsters.

At around ten o'clock, a large group of students poured out of the castle. Ada and Lee Jordan sent the twins to the Gryffindor locker room. Ada gave everyone an encouraging hug before leaving.

Ada and Lee Jordan walked towards the stands around the stadium. It seemed that all the teachers and students in the school had come. Their voices reached the sky, and she could not hear clearly what Lee Jordan was saying to her.

"What did you say?" Ida asked loudly, "Where are you going?"

"I said... I'm not going to the stands... go by yourself!" Lee Jordan replied in the same loud voice.

"Aren't you going to watch the game?" Ada pulled Li Jordan and wouldn't let him leave. Ada thought he was upset because of his failure to be selected. "Aren't you going to cheer for Angelina?"

Lee Jordan broke free from Ada and said, "I really have something to do. You'll know in a moment!"

After saying this, Lee Jordan ran away, leaving Ada alone and disheveled in the cold November wind.
