The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 81 The Importance of Order

Chapter 81 The Importance of Order

George's behavior was somewhat impolite and even disrespectful. Cedric and the twins had known each other since childhood, so he didn't care about George's disrespectful behavior.

Ada patted George on the shoulder and told him not to do that. George realized his mistake and said nothing more.

"You can call me Ada or Esmeralda, whatever you want. My friends usually call me Ada."

"Then we'll be friends from now on!" Cedric said, "Ada, you can also call me Ced, Fred and George used to call me that too."

Cedric had heard about how the twins and Ada met, and he felt that if he had been the one helping to carry the suitcases, they might have been friends a long time ago.

Not only are the two of them in the same grade, they were both born in 1977, except that Cedric's birthday was slightly earlier. They also both like reading and have excellent grades. They also have many other things in common. Wouldn't it be a shame if two such people didn't become friends?
Everyone chatted with Cedric casually for a while, and the atmosphere was quite harmonious. Only the twins felt a little awkward, but they didn't show their awkwardness on the surface.

"Okay, I have to go. See you in class!" Cedric's friends called him several times, so he had to end his chat with Ada and the others. He ran a few steps before catching up with his friends.

"Cedric is so handsome!" Katie couldn't help but say this. She was already fascinated by Cedric's handsomeness.

The other two girls also nodded, agreeing with Katie's words, while the three boys curled their lips in disdain.

Ada hadn't expressed her opinion, so Alia was curious about her opinion, so she asked, "What do you think, Ada?"

"That's not bad. Who knows who will benefit from it in the future?" Ada replied.

"Cedric is just okay in your eyes?" Ada's eyes really surprised Alia, "Then who do you think is handsome?"

"I think Fred and George are handsome too." Ida really wanted to say Al Pacino, but they probably didn't know him. "Oliver Wood is also handsome."

After hearing what Ada said before, the twins were quite happy, but when the word "Wood" suddenly appeared at the end, the twins' happiness was reduced.

While everyone was chatting, Charlie announced the admission list. Angelina and Alia were both successfully selected, and the twins also fulfilled the boasts they had made to Ada.

After setting the time for the first team training of this school year, the Gryffindors gathered in the stadium slowly dispersed. Tomorrow is the weekend, and everyone should enjoy it.

At seven o'clock in the evening, Ada came to the dungeon again. Snape moved the "confinement" originally scheduled for Wednesday to Friday, so that even if Ada was exhausted, it would not affect the next day's classes.

However, tonight Snape did not inhumanely prepare three crucibles to "torture" Ada, which made Ada feel relieved. She didn't want to spend the whole tomorrow lying in bed.

Ada stood in front of the table, which was empty, not even a Flobberworm, let alone a crucible. Just as Ada was thinking about what "surprise" Snape would prepare for her, Snape handed Ada a black cloth and asked her to wear it to cover her eyes.

The black cloth was not light-transparent at all, and Ada, with her eyes blindfolded, couldn't see anything, which made her feel a little insecure.

Snape took out a small bottle of liquid, uncorked it and placed it in front of Ada, allowing Ada to use her sense of smell to determine what kind of potion it was and what materials it was made of.

They thought Ada was a police dog! Ada regretted not bringing Garlon with her. Twitching her nose hard, Ada carefully distinguished the liquid in the glass bottle.

After smelling for a long time, Ada still didn't find the answer, but instead had a new doubt: Did Snape take the wrong one?
After thinking for two minutes, Ada asked uncertainly, "Rum?"

"you sure?"

"Rum, I'm sure." Ada finally insisted on her idea. Although Snape's tone made Ada a little hesitant, she did smell the smell of rum, but she didn't smell what other ingredients were added to the wine.

Snape put away the small bottle and said, "It seems that your time in the Leaky Cauldron was not wasted. How about you drop out of school and go to the Leaky Cauldron? Or the Three Broomsticks is also fine. This red currant rum is the signature drink there." This bottle of wine was just a test, a trap. Next, Snape took out a bottle of green potion for Ada to identify.

Snape kept taking out different glass bottles, and Ada kept sniffing them. However, there were not only potions and wine, but also several kinds of drinks. Big pits led to small pits one after another. Ada successfully avoided some pits, while others directly buried Ada.

It was not until Ada's nose felt uncomfortable and sore every time she inhaled that the pit king Snape ended the training for the night.

Ada took off the black cloth blindfold and gently rubbed her nose, her nose was sore that she almost cried. Snape took out two small bottles, one blue and one green, from his robe. As soon as the two bottles were taken out, Ada wanted to sniff her nose reflexively.

Fortunately, Snape was not so cruel. He prepared these two small bottles for Ada, the green one for external application and the blue one for internal use, which could relieve the pain in her nose. In fact, Snape also prepared potions last time, but he forgot to give them to her when he left.

Ada pulled out the stopper of the blue potion she was taking internally, but she didn't expect that the potion in the vial was so unpalatable that Ada almost vomited it out. She thought that there couldn't be anything in the world more unpalatable than this.

Then Ada evenly applied the green medicine on her nose. The medicine disappeared as soon as it was applied and was directly absorbed. A cool feeling immediately appeared on her nose, and the sore feeling gradually disappeared.

Apart from the fact that the blue one was really unpalatable, the potion prepared by Snape was indeed effective in curing the disease.

After the feeling of nausea finally subsided, Ada was planning to thank Snape, but Snape's words almost made Ada's lungs explode.

"By the way, next time remember to use the external application first, and then drink the blue one. This way it will taste better." Snape said calmly, "But it doesn't matter. The effects are the same. The order in which you take the medicine will make it more effective."

Snape didn't intend to trick her. He had already made all the preparations, so there was no need to trick her again. He hadn't even told her the order yet, and Ada had already drunk it all. It couldn't be his fault.

Ada, whose nose was sore, didn't think so much. She just wanted to stop the pain quickly, but she didn't expect that there was a trap waiting for her to fall into.

"This is a lesson for your recklessness!" Snape said, "You don't have to come next Friday. I'll tell you when to come again."

After smelling the potions for a whole night, Ada has memorized the taste of the potions firmly in her mind. If she encounters them again in the future, she will be able to distinguish them clearly and will never drink them by mistake. This time of "confinement" is still very rewarding.

Ada was walking on the road leading to the Gryffindor Tower, followed by the elf Winnie. From now on, whenever she went to the dungeon, Winnie would take her back after finishing. This was Snape's arrangement.

Along the way, Ada was chatting with the elf Winnie, asking her about the secrets of the castle. The house elves had lived in the castle for who knows how many years, so they must know some of the castle's secrets. Winnie had also lived here for eleven years, so she must know more than Ada, who had just been here for a year.

At the entrance of the common room, Ada met Toler who had just returned. One of them was in detention with Professor McGonagall, and the other was in detention with Professor Snape. Both of them were in detention, but the two detentions had completely different meanings.

During this period of time, Toller had been waiting for revenge from Ada and the twins, but after waiting for more than a week, he got nothing. This made him think that the three people were afraid of losing points, so they did not dare to retaliate against him, and he looked down on Ada even more.

Ada had been planning to go back to the lounge, but Toller's look was really annoying, so she drew out her wand, pointed it at Toller, and said, "You'd better look at people more respectfully, or lower your head."

"Miss, please don't do this, it will bring you trouble..." The elf Winnie pulled the corner of Ada's robe and persuaded her.

Toller didn't lower his head, he was still looking at Ada.

"Either bow your head or pick up your wand like me." Ada walked in front of Toler, and Winnie followed her. The elf gently pulled the corner of Ada's robe and softly persuaded her to put down her wand.

The two people were already very close to each other, but Toller still didn't react. He still felt that Ada didn't dare to attack him here.

Ada touched Toler's cheek with the tip of her wand and whispered, "You are right. I came from an orphanage. What gave you the illusion that children in the orphanage can be bullied at will?"
