Chapter 72 Useful Owls and Useless Galleons
September 2nd was a Sunday, and Hogwarts did not start classes immediately. Instead, it gave students a day to adjust their schedules. After being lazy for a whole holiday, it was difficult for students to immediately get back into their busy study life.

In the morning, students sat lazily in the auditorium, and the sound of yawns filled the entire auditorium. Even Ada, who walked into the auditorium in high spirits, was infected and yawned several times in a row along with the crowd.

Professor McGonagall began distributing new timetables along the long table. When it came to Ada, just as she was about to reach out to take it, Professor McGonagall took the timetable back.

"Esmeralda Drizzt, you are so amazing!" Professor McGonagall said in a bad tone. She came here to criticize Ada.

When your mother calls you by your full name seriously, you're basically close to getting a beating, and the same goes for Professor McGonagall.

"That's right, that's right, Professor McGonagall, you have to teach her a lesson." Fred sat on the side and fanned the flames.

"It's really outrageous," George added. "I couldn't stand it if it happened to me."

Ada turned around and glared at the twins. Not only did the two brothers not restrain themselves, but they dared to complain to her face: "Look, Professor, she dared to threaten us!"

"Aren't the two Mr. Weasleys hungry?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"Hungry……"

"Then why don't you eat breakfast? Is it not to your liking?"

How could the twins not understand what Professor McGonagall meant? The two brothers quickly turned back and lowered their heads to eat the food on their plates. Although they dared not speak anymore, their little eyes kept glancing at Professor McGonagall and Ada.

"Professor, I can explain..." Ada had been thinking about what to say, hoping to ease Professor McGonagall's anger.

"Make it up."

Ada waved her hands and quickly explained: "Is it a fabrication? It's not a fabrication, it's all true... I didn't..."

"Are you trying to say you don't have an owl?" said Professor McGonagall, looking at the owls flying around the Great Hall. "But how did Tom from the Leaky Cauldron write to me? Did he turn himself into an owl and fly here?"

After hearing the previous words, Ada was about to nod in agreement, but Professor McGonagall's subsequent words made it difficult for her to nod or not nod.

"I heard you have a dog. Should I help you turn it into an owl?" Professor McGonagall looked at the twins and continued, "Or turn one of the two Mr. Weasleys into an owl?"

"Professor, the school cannot use Transfiguration to punish students!" Fred argued. The matter had already implicated him, and he could no longer sit idly by.

"The school has just started and we haven't made any mistakes yet!" George said as he nagged Ada to think of a way to appease Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall said, "I didn't realize that the two Mr. Weasleys were so familiar with the school rules. But when you made mistakes, where did you remember the school rules that you knew so well?"

"Next time if anything happens, I will ask you for help first!" Ada said. Admit your mistake, admit it firmly, and Professor McGonagall will definitely show leniency.

Professor McGonagall nodded in satisfaction. She handed the schedule to Ada, and then said to the twins, "I see that you two have memorized the school rules very well, so if you make a mistake next time, you will be breaking the law knowingly. Then you two should pack up your things and live in the Owlery!"

After dealing with the self-willed Ada and giving the twins a lesson, Professor McGonagall left contentedly. She felt that as long as she could keep Ada and the twins stable, there would be a hope of competing for the house cup this year. She didn't want to see Snape's smug face again.

"Is she in menopause?" Fred muttered as he watched Magg walk away. "She should have passed it a long time ago!" George said after thinking for a while.

"Whether it's mom or Professor McGonagall," the twins looked at Ada and continued, "and Ada, women are indeed terrible creatures."

At noon, Ada went to the library. She wanted to catch up on her subject progress. She had fallen behind too much this summer vacation, and she needed to work harder this school year.

The twins and Lee Jordan left the lounge together. They planned to take Garlon for a walk around the castle. They would take good care of Garlon and when he grew up, the twins would take him to challenge Mrs. Loris and teach this stinky cat a profound lesson.

Garlon is a Labrador retriever with a gentle personality and is not aggressive. The twins are holding it on a leash, so it is not dangerous. However, Ada still made a muzzle for Garlon to prevent it from biting people accidentally.

The twins took Garlon to Hagrid's hut. Hagrid liked little Garlon very much, and Fang liked him even more. It kept getting close to Garlon. If the twins hadn't stopped it in time, Fang would probably have given little Garlon a bath.

When they left, Hagrid prepared a big bag of snacks and toys for Garlon. All these things were Yaya's, but Yaya didn't make a sound. Instead, he wagged his tail even more happily, like an electric fan on three gears.

Around four o'clock in the afternoon, Ada returned to the common room with a pile of books. The twins and Lee Jordan surrounded Garlon, who lay on the ground motionless, just like he was in the pet shop.

As soon as she put the book down, Garlon jumped into her arms, whining in grievance.

Ada also discovered that when nothing happened, Garlon completely ignored her, as if she had a smell on her body, but once it was frightened or felt wronged, it would come to her and stick to her.

Aida, holding Garlon, looked at the twins with confusion, waiting for their explanation.

The twins looked at each other, and Fred said, "We took Garlon out for a walk this afternoon..."

"We also went to Hagrid, and Hagrid gave us a lot of things," George continued.

Ada watched them, watching how the twins continued their story.

"When I came back, I happened to meet Mrs. Loris."

"It was just a matter of chance encounter, and that's it."

Garlon in his arms was still whining. It was obvious that this puppy had never beaten the battle-hardened Mrs. Loris. The twins were thinking about letting Garlon teach Mrs. Loris a lesson in the future, but they didn't expect that the other party would take the initiative.

No wonder he came to find me out of grievance, it turned out that he had failed in his first attempt! Ada thought, she lifted up Garlon and checked it, and found that it was not injured, probably just a little beaten up.

Ada sat in an armchair and stroked the dog to comfort Garlon's wounded heart. The twins and Lee Jordan began to think about the revenge plan. The target of revenge was not Mrs. Norris, but Filch. They couldn't really take revenge on a cat.

The three boys gathered together and whispered, occasionally letting out a few sly laughs. It was obvious that they had already thought of how to deal with Filch.

Classes will officially start tomorrow. Ada is very curious about the new professor, Grover Cecil. She hopes that this professor can take on the responsibility of teaching the Defense Against the Dark Arts class well, instead of messing around like his predecessor. Ada wants to spend a year of school life in a down-to-earth manner.
